We had a wonderful afternoon tea at the Langham hotel on 1st June 2019.
Excellent setting with views across the sea.
The food was fresh and tasty. Plenty of it too.
Choice of 4 finger sandwiches each. A large scone with cream and jam. And at least 6 small cakes to enjoy.
All for £24 each with a glass of prosecco.
They boxed up the leftovers to take home.
Service was good too. Very attentive and proportional.

Just spent 1 evening in this lovely hotel. Staff were charming and hotel has a lovely oldie worldly charm with modern necessities . We had a wonderful sea view room . It was lovely just to sit drink wine and chat whilst watching the sea and the view . Hotel is brilliantly located for amenities . Food is superb I had mussels for a starter , which may be the best i have ever had 😄Bed was super comfy but a bit small (double ) but I am used to a super king . Slept with windows open and could listen to the sea. The only criticism was curtains let a bit of light in but this really didn’t bother me or my husband , however I know some people would be bothered . One curious quirky addition which did amuse us was the strange location of toilet roll dispenser , you had to be a contortionist to access it 🤣🤣lovely touches like free water in room with Tea and biscuits. Breakfast was good with waitress service . Also offered a bottle of drink for journey home . We will definitely be back

A very comfortable hotel in an ideal position which lives up to its excellent reviews.
I used to live in the area as a child some six decades ago, even delivering meat to the hotel from a local butchers on a bicycle, it was great to get to stay there after all those years.
My single room was small, near the lift, at the back of the hotel but was comfortable and spotlessly clean, I was concerned that the noise from the lift would keep me awake, but that wasn't the case.
Smashing breakfast with a great view and whilst I ate out with local friends the dining room seemed to be very popular.
The staff I dealt with were very good, mainly over breakfast, though a has been pointed out the ladies at reception prefer to remain seated and avoid eye contact when dealing with guests.
I will certainly return if we visit Eastbourne again, though my wife and I will opt for a larger sea facing room.

I recently stayed here with my partner as a last minute break away and were thrilled with our choice of hotel. (A friend had recommend and we weren’t disappointed)
Not knowing Eastbourne all that even thou we live not far we were pleasantly surprised by the town itself and the lovely promenade. Helped by the fact we had good weather.
The hotel we couldn't fault, the bedroom we had was lovely and spacious and had a sea view. The beds/pillows were super comfortable and clean (this is always a fussy point for me)
The staff at the front desk were helpful and approachable as were the restaurant staff.
I particularly liked the conservatory part of the restaurant over looking the sea.
Overall we had a great stay and great food.
We’ll most definitely be returning in the future.
Many thanks to the Langham and all the staff.

We spent four happy nights at the Langham. Excellent food served with a friendly team of hard working staff. The sea view room was clean and a lovely comfy bed. In the evening we were able to relax in the bar and enjoy the entertainment. This hotel fully deserves a good rating and would highly recommend it.

We have just returned from a four day stay, and can honestly say that we cannot fault the hotel at all. The room as spacious, clean and tastefully decorated with a lovely sea view. The food was as it’s awards would suggest extremely good and ample portions, which isn’t always so! Added bonus breakfast is served at your table. The staff are well trained and extremely helpful.
We have stayed at many 4 and 5 star hotels and can honestly say that the Langham is definitely up to scratch. After reading some reviews it doesn’t seem that we stayed in the same hotel!

We stayed 3 nights and booked a sea view room which is a must. Going to sleep hearing those waives was lovely and waking up to see those brave swimmers was a treat. Nice size room, not massive, shower and towels and toiletries all proved. Biscuits and tea, coffee, water etc., renewed everyday. Staff were ALL polite, helpful and always with a smile. Nice lobby with sea view and a bar. Entertainment most nights. Hotel very clean. Breakfast was good. You order and wait, it might take awhile but you know it is fresh and hasn’t been sitting in some hot tray. You are given a menu to choose but you can also order what is not shown on the menu, for instance the lady next to us wanted a cheese omelette and she got one! We had a great vegetarian breakfast. If you want more than one egg, then say so. More than one sausage? Ask for it. The hotel is Victorian and might be oldy worldly inside but clean and has everything you need. Will definitely go again. We’re even offered water for our journey when we checked out. Within easy reach of most restaurants. Short walk to the Pier.

Very welcoming, efficient service, food clean, refreshing and tasty.
Niel Kirby, wife, son and staff made a very personal element to our visit, the hotel is spotless, the staff friendly, can’t recommend it enough, Eastbourne very lucky to have this family run hotel.

This hotel is a shining example for the hospitality industry, I can only say that all of the the staff from the receptionists, waiting staff, housekeepers and chefs deserve great praise for the cheerful and professional way they perform their duties, only the highest of standards are practised at the Langham Hotel and its obvious to see. Unfortunately hotels of this standard are rare in this day an age. I will certainly be visiting again.

Excelent hotel, friendly and professional staff, stunning sea-view from hotel. Although modernized still with the charm of an old british hotel. Very clean. Good restaurant with fine choices for your menu, attractive prices and good winelist.

My partner and I spent 3 nights here at the beginning of April 2019. The staff were without exception courtious and helpful. The room was spotless and very comfortable.
Both breakfast and the bar meals were of a high standard and much enjoyed.
If we had been able to stay longer we would have happily done so. Thank you.

Stayed here for weekend break and cannot fault it. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms were well decorated in a tasteful style and were extremely clean. The breakfast was very good - very generous portion of fresh fruit and a very generous portion of smoked salmon. The full English breakfast was excellent too with offers of extra toast and tea.

Check in was quick and the young lady was very nice and gave us a upgrade for free.
Room was lovely, very clean and furnished very nicely.
Quite a lot of older folk staying at the hotel, normally stay at the View hotel and it's more younger based.
The hotel itself is very beautiful and didn't come across any rude members of staff, quite the opposite every member of staff were very nice.
Now for the negative we stayed in room 242 and the room itself was lovely but the insulation was terrible and we could hear next door talking and even snoring most of the night, this affected our sleep and it's a real shame as I really wanted to give this hotel a 5 star rating.
This let's the hotel down on a big scale for me, would we stay again not too sure to be honest as the view hotel for me ticks all the boxes but maybe we just got unlucky with a certain room.
I will say though the hotel did offer us another room but it was nowhere as nice so we bit the bullet and stayed where we was, the 2nd night was better but could still hearing talking from next door.
Thank you to the staff at Langham though and I'm sorry for not giving 5 stars but this does let the hotel down.
We got 10 pound of our bill and 2 bottles of water.

We stayed one night over Easter. We did not book a sea view room because we were only staying the one night. Our room was small, but was adequate for our short stay. It was clean and the bed was very comfortable, the shower was not a power shower, but was more than adequate and the water was nice and hot. Tea and coffee were supplied in the room. Breakfast in the morning was cooked to order, and was very tasty. All the staff were friendly and helpful.
If we need a hotel to stay in Eastbourne again it would be this one, and if we stayed longer we would book a sea view room.

Good position on the seafront close to the main attractions. Our room was a Superior Sea View and it lived up to it's name. The views were excellent and the room was one of the largest, spotlessly clean and well appointed. All the staff we met were pleasant and professional. We will definitely return!

A lovely hotel, our room had been recently redecorated. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Right on the sea front, just by Redoubt fort. Would definitely stay there again and they have just sent me am email about their future offers.

Liked the Langham as it is right on the seafront, dining was in the conservatory, also on the front. The room was well equipped and modern. The food for both evening meal and breakfast was very good and reasonably priced.
The hotel has just 3 car parking spaces which have to be reserved. If you don't, and I didn't, you have to find street parking which is mainly free of charge but the closest space was 1/4 mile away. A nice walk on the day, but perhaps not always.

What a find this hotel is. The rooms were c and clean, and the food both in the restaurant and bar was very good and reasonably priced. The jewel in the crown for this hotel was the staff, they were attentive, helpful, polite without exception but not at all overbearing; we have had a wonderful weekend stay. Would recommend this hotel.

we opted for a superior sea view room and have noted its number for the next visit.

Everything on this short visit was brilliant especially the staff. Restaurant was excellent for the evening meal and to have a full breakfast served at the table is so much better than a buffet.

We arrived at the hotel in the late hours of the night and was able to check in, even it being so late. Got to the room which was lovely and charming, the small touches around the room such as Galaxy hot chocolate sachet on the drinks tray, a small sewing kit, just little thing that was really lovely to see. Had a good night sleep however one small issue, when we woke up we could hear the breakfast guests in the restaurant which was just below us, wasn't a massive issue for us. Breakfast was lovely, really nice options like Salmon and Scrambled eggs which I had and was lovely, table was layed up beautiful and had a view of the sea with breakfast. On checking out we received a complimentary bottle of water each which was very much appreciated for our long drive home. All the staff were very friendly and welcoming, would definitely stay again!
