Stayed here on a night they had a very large party staying but didn't affect us at all, we were on the third floor and the room wasn't huge but it was very clean and comfortable and had everything we needed and the bathroom was the same. We ate in the bar in the evening and the food was freshly made and very delicious, the bar was cosy and the bar staff very attentive. Had a great nights sleep in a very comfortable bed and a lovely breakfast the next morning. When you go in for breakfast they greet you and seat you and everything is bought to you so no queuing at a buffet. Every staff member we encountered was polite and friendly and there is not one negative thing we can say about this hotel. Next time we will be staying longer.

Our check in time was at 2.30 pm we arrived at reception round 1.30pm and the receptionist checked and our rooms were ready very friendly and chatty. The room itself is a bit dated but the majority of the clientele while we were ther was over 65 but it was clean and tidy. We had booked a sea view and was most impressed like that they had put two chairs and a table in front of the window, a lot of hotels we have stayed in only supply one chair. The room had everything we needed tea and coffee, biscuits and water were plentiful and the second morning they had all been replenished. I would have preferred a quilt on my bed but that’s personal choice. Bathrobe and slippers. We’re also supplied, television was small but we didn’t come away to watch tele and didn’t have it on at all. Bathroom was clean and adequate water pressure great although bath was ok for me I’m only five foot hubby wouldn’t have managed it. No air conditioning but we could open windows which was fine. It would have been nice if the information booklet was left on the dressing table instead of in the drawer as we didn’t find it till the day we were leaving. Breakfast was nice great choice fruit salad had wide range of fruits not your basic orange and apple. Only complaint it would have been nice to have the option of a small or large breakfast, the breakfast was fine for me but hubby could have done with an extra egg, sausage and bacon. Staff really friendly and attentive. We had drinks in the bar bit disappointed that all music stopped around half ten as we wasn’t getting back to that time again I understand most were older guest but it would have been nice to have a bit of background music whilst we were sitting there. Overall enjoyed the stay would definately recommend.

We stayed mid september with my sister and brother in law ,My husband and I stayed in a superior sea facing room which i have to say was absolutely gorgeous, the view was fantastic, we had a massive queen sized bed which was so very comfortable , the shower was large and very powerful . we loved sitting in the large bay window in our room having coffee and just watching the waves crash to the beach opposite. .... just perfect.
Breakfast was delicious perfectly cooked and the staff were second to none, always very helpful and smiling we couldn't fault our stay , was sad to leave , promising ourselves to return soon .as did my sister.

We stayed in a budget room so the decor and furniture were dated. However, my main concern is generally 1. cleanliness, 2. good service and 3. a decent breakfast and this small hotel scores well on all 3. The lovely receptionist was super friendly and efficient and on the day we checked out we sat in reception for some time reading the paper so we could hear lots of conversations and phone calls that she handled with great ease, warmth and good service.
Breakfast was waiter/waitress service and absolutely delicious. I had a proper fresh fruit salad, lovely smoked salmon and pretty much anything else you wanted was on offer.
The vibe at the hotel was great - even the other customers seemed very happy and friendly. Sounds weird but we stayed in a much bigger hotel up the road before which looked much more flash but the staff seemed miserable!
So - this is clearly a well-managed hotel that looks after its staff. For this I give it 5 stars.

Everything was excellent. The room was relatively spacious, with a super sea view.
Breakfast and dinner was of good quality at reasonable prices.
Staff were all very helpful. Fortunately we pre booked the car parking as there were only nine spaces available.
What more could we ask!

Yet another visit to The Langham and everything still absolutely spot on . This place should stand as an example of how to run a hotel . All the staff including a couple of new additions are extremely polite and nothing is too much trouble . Rooms have delightful decor and are kept perfectly clean . The restaurant as usual provides fantastic food at very reasonable prices . Cant stress too much the quality this hotel provides , give it a try .

Accompanied mum on coach trip staying at the hotel for 4 nights. Room on 3rd floor overlooked yard and was small with a lot of furniture for its size ! Bathroom was very dated with a shower over bath which presented problem for mum with limited mobility. Obviously a budget room.
However, the room was comfortable and spotlessly clean. Tea ,coffee, water and biscuits provided and replaced daily . Twin beds were comfortable although personal preference would be duvets rather than blankets . Some nice toiletries in bathroom with gorgeous thick towels.
The staff were pleasant, helpful and efficient and bar prices were reasonable for a hotel.
The real standout feature of the hotel for us was the quality and standard of the food . Both breakfast and dinner were excellent with a great selection and of a far superior quality than we have previously experienced in many years of coach trips.
The foyer, bar and lounge were very welcoming and the whole hotel is very well presented and seems well cared for throughout. There seems to pride taken in giving quests a good stay and this was certainly achieved.
We enjoyed our time here very much.

Booked because of a funeral locally, seeking (and expecting) nothing special -- but spirits were lifted by the Langham and its staff. An immaculately clean and comfortable hotel, with most welcoming staff (especially the young ladies at the reception desk) and attentive restaurant staff (especially the head waiter from Portimao!). I am now planning a return visit with partner.

My mum and I have just spent 2 nights at the Langham. It was a treat for my mum’s 85th Birthday. Fantastic Hotel. Everything was perfect, the food was absolutely amazing, the staff were so friendly and attentive. Josè was “simply the best”. The rooms were superb and the little extras like robes and slippers just gave it that extra special touch. Definitely recommended!

My husband and I have been to The Langham for their Sunday Jazz Lunches before but never when Duality were performing so decided to treat ourselves.
We were definitely not disappointed.
Like always the food was first class: we decided to just have 2 courses, starters and mains. When we arrived we were given a glass of bubbly which was very well received! I had mussels in cream sauce whilst my husband had the bloomer with pancetta and mushrooms - both of which were very tasty. We then both opted for the "trolley" roast beef dinner which was superb and there was so much. Thank goodness we had already decided not to have dessert as we didn't have room for anything else. We had a bottle of red wine (Merlot) which went down really well.
Excellent value for money as our 2 course meal with wine came to £59!
Whilst we were enjoying our lovely food we were serenaded by Duality who were excellent.
The staff were, as usual, first class and ensured that everything in the restaurant ran smoothly. The owner, Neil, was also on hand and it was great to see him mingling with the guests.
One word of warning: please make a table reservation in advance as the Sunday Jazz Lunches are extremely popular and you wouldn't want to arrive to find it was fully booked!

Stayed here recently.
Room was at the back of the hotel on the 3rd floor and very small - not a lot of space to move about but as we
were only there for the 1 night, was adequate. Bottles of water in room which was a nice touch, also dressing gowns & slippers.
Breakfast was served to you, and was very nice and plentiful. The conservatory which we ate in was lovely with blinds to keep the sun out (it was very hot that day).
Nice atmosphere.

We had a sea view room and it was wonderful! The room was clean and spacious, with a very comfortable bed. The staff were very welcoming and efficient. The bar and restaurant areas were really nice and the breakfast was delicious. The hotel offered parking off site (1 minute drive, 5 minute walk) at £8 per night.

Spent 4 nights here on coach holiday 20 - 24th Aug. Very impressed with personal touches eg. Face cloths in rooms, bottled water, biscuits, hot chocolate drinks (which were provided on daily basis). Best part was food in the restaurant which far exceeded the food normally provided on coach holidays. The individual desserts were delicious. All staff lovely and attentive and plenty of them.

I stayed at the Langham over the August Bank Holiday week-end-this was my first visit. I normally stay at one of the larger hotels further down on the other side of the Pier. However, I wanted a change. I'm so glad I decided to try the Langham-the check-in procedure was straightforward and though I panicked that I might not find parking in the surrounding streets (there were no more carpark spaces at the hotel), I found a parking space literally down the side street. My car was safe there throughout my two night stay.

I stayed in a single room on the top floor (room 327) and though it *was* on the small side (I knew it would be so wasn't surprised) it reminded me of my Halls of Residence days:), but I had all I needed in that room. There was ample wardrobe space (I brought a week's worth of clothing for 2 nights:), a TV with remote, a fan, a side table and tea/coffee making facilities. The best part of the way this room is laid out is that the bed faces out to the sea and you can actually sit up in bed and not only "see" the sea, but you can hear the "swish swish" of the sea-something we city folk don't get to hear often! It was bliss and was so relaxing.

My *only* complaint re-the room (and I am fully aware it is due to be refurbished in November-which it really does need)-the water pressure from the shower was not great (as compared to the other hotel I've stayed at, and other UK hotels) and the temperature kept changing/fluctuating from hot to cold (presumably if someone else on my floor was using the water? Aside from the shower issues, no complaints at all. In fact, I'd like to make a special mention to the Michael, who came up to my room and fixed my shower on my second evening (for some reason to do with the "washer"-the water was coming out of the bath tap but not from the shower)-he managed to fix it, and then proceeded to clean the inside of the bath (another hotel staff member had tried to fix the shower and stood in my bath with dirty shoes leaving shoe marks in the bath:). Michael really did go over and beyond to make sure I was happy with the state of the bathtub before he left.

Speaking of Michael, he is actually the chef! but was duty manager that evening. So now onto the food...

I ate lunch in the bar and loved what I had so much that I had dinner in the bar that same evening, on my last night. I had the vegan salad for lunch (it was amazing-crispy polenta and tofu with asparagus, tomatoes and leafy greens...it was dressed really yummy and was probably the most flavoursome vegan salad I've ever had and I've eaten at a number of vegan restaurants over the years. For dinner I had fish and chips (you have to when you're by the sea) and another vegan salad:).

The food was really outstanding for a hotel bar and the bar area itself was relaxing, with ample seating space both indoors and outdoors. I could have easily stayed at the Langham, in my single room for another week!

I really cannot fault the hotel in any way. The staff were polite, pleasant and very helpful and I would love to return for another visit at some point over the next few months.

This lovely old building is well maintained and has a charm of eras past. We initially had a double room with sea view. It was on the top floor and the room had a lovely view and a very modern bathroom but we found it very small. The second night we moved to the Amberley Room on the 1st floor. Terrific. Large and spacious, modern bathroom, sitting area, king size bed. Definitely worth it.

The included breakfast was also very good. The dinner menus looked excellent and great value for money although we ate out both nights so I can't speak from experience however the smells coming from the dining room were delicious.

The staff were friendly. Limited parking outside at the back of the hotel (£9 per night and you need to book) . There is other parking offsite about a 3 minute walk away (£8 per night). There is a drop off zone where you can stop for up to 15 minutes to check in. The only thing I didn't like was that we had to carry our own bags up the steps and then also take them up to our rooms. When we checked out the lift was being serviced so we asked for someone to get our bags (steep narrow staircase to negotiate) and they were happy to oblige. I would stay here again.

We stayed for 2 nights. My wife was walking from Eastbourne to Brighton. I cycled. So a comfortable hotel was essential. And this ticked all the boxes. Good breakfast and dinner, comfortable rooms and very helpful staff.

Although I had booked a superior sea view room, I had not anticipated such spacious luxury. More than enough storage space and wonderful views. The dressing gowns were soft and fluffy and the bottled water was very welcome on those hot and humid days and nights. The dining room was welcoming and the terrace lovely to sit and have breakfast on in the morning. The staff were all very friendly and helpful.
The bathroom let the room down, as it was very small and cramped and the water pressure in the shower was low. It is also a long walk to the centre of town and the traffic noise from the road means you cannot leave a window open at night.

I was taking part in my first bowls club tour so was a little uncertain about what to expect. I needn't have worried as the hotel was very welcoming and the staff extremely friendly - going out of their way to help whenever possible.

I really enjoyed my stay at the Langham hotel, the food was lovely so we're the staff, my room although on the small side and was a budget room had everything we needed lovely big fluffy towels and ample toiletries. The only downside was no WiFi in our room, I did ask and was told it would be sorted but alas it wasn't.. It was a minor fault as WiFi was in the public areas. We stayed 4 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. Thank you to the staff at the Langham hotel

Having just returned from a 4 day break at the Langham I can not fault this lovely hotel, first the staff friendly and most professional in every way possible, service was first class in every part of the hotel, now the food, the breakfast menu very good with everything serviced at the table and good quality with a good choice, the dinner menu again excellent really good with a great choice with something for everyone to enjoy, now the hotel and rooms, everywhere was spotlessly clean and welcoming , the hotel is located right on the seafront with only a short walk into town, before I leaving I booked my next holiday in 8 weeks time and of course it's at the Langham.
