worked out to be an excellent location for a short break when we needed to get some exercise in the easy walks along the prom. and for viewing the airshow first day.
Food excellent and waiter service for breakfast was so much better than the now customary buffet. All staff very helpful and cheerful.

Apart from small room (Hotel was originally three properties) - we had no complaints whatsoever about this hotel. Excellent friendly staff, good food (waiter service), two individual oneman bands re: evening entertainment - thoroughly enjoyed both. Would definitely stay here again. Maureen & Roy

I came to this Hotel to visit my Grandparents who visit the Langham usually around Christmas. This time they visited for 14 days, two weeks. I caught a train from Shoreham-By-Sea and walked from Eastbourne Station to the Langham. It was easy to locate and only a short 15 minute walk from the station, I approached via the Terrace and entered through the reception. It was a brilliant first impression as I walked through reception, I was kindly greeted by the reception staff as I was informed that I had been expected and my Grandparents were waiting in the bar area. A significant thing I noticed was the beautiful decor and design of the entrance, a simple stairwell located just next to the lift. Once I had located my seating for the day I enjoyed a lovely flapjack that came with some Coffee. Progressing through the day I mainly drank the Elderflower Presse, brilliant taste with Ice. Always fresh and prompt service. At one point we had ordered a Lime Soda Water with Ice. At the time they were unable to provide it as they had ran out of Lime Cordial, this was promptly solved as we were provided with just the soda water and a short 10 minute wait before the lovely waiter came through and added the Lime Cordial to our Soda Water, he also provided us with an extra drop of Cordial, absolutely brilliant service and very prompt, resolving our every problem. For lunch I enjoyed Line caught Cod, with homemade chips, mushy peas and complimentary Tartar Sauce. Our food arrived in under 20 minutes hot and fresh. Condiments arrived in about 10 minutes, this consisted of 3/4 Small Pots of Ketchup and Mayonaise, these were both delightful and were a lovely addition to our meal. With this came Vinegar and cutlery. Once my meal had arrived it was completely fresh and I was informed that it was both freshly caught (by line) and the largest the waiter had seen. The chips were a simple yet brilliant addition, homemade and a delight. Toilets were kept constantly clean and in good condition. Highly hygienic. Throught the day whenever Tea or Coffee was ordered it came with the offer of Sugar, Milk etc. It would also come with a Complimentary Flapjack and Biscuit. Both tasty and nice. I did indulge in viewing the room, 'twas room 212. A superior sea view double bed with en-suite, a nice shower and clean room in general. Bed was made and bedsheets were clean and clearly well kept. Beautiful Sea View from the room with views of the sea even from the bed and bathroom overlooking the Eastbourne coast and a fine view of the Pier. Easy to access, simple keycard system - No "Insert Card here" annoyance simply wave the card around infront of the scanner and be let in. As I passed through room cleaning was well in action as the halls were cleaned and hoovered thoroughly. Not a hair in sight. Decor was all kept very clean and tidy with an old yet incredibly luxurious design. The room came with a kettle, 2 mugs and a selection of sachets of Galaxy Hot Chocolate, Tea, Coffee, Milk (Little plastic pots), sugar and sweeteners. There was also a wardrobe, Television and adequate storage space. Just before lunch arrived I was greeted by Neil himself, the Owner - A delightful man with clear passion and intent for good hospitality, he also offered me a Langham Hotel Pen that went very well with the Langham Hotel Notepad I had been brought back from Christmas. Come time to leave me and Grandfather meandered over to see Neil removing luggage from coaches and greeting and assisting new residents with the lift and where their room is located. We progressed to the reception desk and asked the Hotel General Manager whom happened to be at the desk at the time and we asked for a cab, he sat down took our surname and rang the taxi with us there. Taxi arrived within minutes and was of good quality and very cheap. Before my leaving I poked my head through to the spacious dining area with plentiful tables. I could simply imagine a delightful meal in there as I expect is indulged upon every evening and morning. I would definitely love to come here again and stay the night. Brilliant hotel with plentiful and delightful staffing. Close to popular Eastbourne Attractions and some brilliant offers for rooms. A well deserved 4 star hotel that could even go further than that. Absolutely amazing day out.

We stayed at this hotel for a night whilst visiting friends in Eastbourne. We had a lovely room with a sea view and had a lovely breakfast in the front conservatory area. All very good and enjoyed our stay. Very minir quibble, could have done with some milk cartons in the room with the tea.

Charming, classic seafront hotel. Single room small and a bit old fashioned in decor but charming none the less. Clean. Bed comfortable. Towels and bedding crisp and of excellent quality. No aircon but the room did have a balcony and was equiped with a fan. The lobby area decorated in a classic style. Ate in the bar as the restaurant was full. A simple bar menu but of good quality and the service was first class. Breakfast served in the restaurant was excellent with impecable service. Not too far from NT Monk's House and Charleston. A lovely place to stay.

Me and my girlfriend came to Eastbourne for 1 night to escape a stressful routine In London. I have selected this particular hotel for its rating (4*) and sea front. I guess on such short stay you don’t want to face any issues and have a pleasant and smooth stay. Which unfortunately did not happen at this hotel. We were given a small, yard overlooking room where I specifically sent an email to the hotel, asking for a sea view room. There was no option online, to book a sea view room, that’s why I wanted to make sure we get it by simply asking by e-mail before our arrival. Unfortunately no one got back to me that the room is not available or informed me about extra charges. Followed by this, we found horrible stains on the bed spread, which I find completely unacceptable for 4* hotel. Our issues didn’t stop there. The room was small and it was no air to breathe. The window was not fully opening for security reasons and a small fan gave us a dust wind right in the face.
After complaining to the receptionist, and waiting for him to come up and see the faults himself, he offered to change our room into a better one which we really appreciated. However, even in that room, sea view with a decent ventilator, we found unpleasant stains on the pillow. The whole experience was very unpleasant and we did not want to ruin our already short stay.
We went downstairs to relax and have an afternoon tea, which we found out that needs to be booked in advance.. The bar staff were extremely helpful and arranged it at last minute and helped the situation. The breakfast was good and staff were very pleasant. All in all, I feel very disappointed, as I specifically chose a 4*, that costs much more than most of Eastbourne hotels and the value did not meet the expectations and standards for such hotel.

The hotel was clean staff were helpfull & efficient food was good. Only complaint was the lift carpet, like fabric on walls, when hot gave off a bad smell. We had Room service on a couple of occasions it was delivered promptly and you could tell it had been freshly cooked

I haven't been to Eastbourne for over 10 years and this was an hastily prepared short break while our daughter was away with friends
This is a lovingly maintained period property that is well decorated and maintained. The staff are friendly and could not have been more helpful, the food was well priced, plentiful and very well presented, Room service was efficient and without the usual mark-up on prices that usually comes with this standard of accommodation. We had an excellent short break and hope the hotel stays exactly as it is: Comfortable, convenient, friendly and well decorated. Thank You

We stayed here for the weekend. We had a room on the 3rd floor which was small but very adequate for our needs. Beautiful shower room with a powerful shower which has constant hot water. The breakfast was lovely and adequate for my wife, I could have eaten a bit more than one egg, one sausage, one bacon etc, but perhaps that was because it was so nice. It was lovely to sit on the terrace in the evening having a drink and watching the sun go down. I would say that the best thing about this hotel is the staff. They were all exemplary. From a very warm welcome at reception, waiting staff and bar staff the service was excellent ... would I come back ... at the drop of a hat ! The pier and the centre of town was a comfortable 15 minute stroll along the espalande. We loved The Langham, and in a way, I think it loved us.

The staff are very helpful, in particular at the front desk, Rika made the checkin experience very efficient. Needed to get parking, and she was able to arrange for a space, which at the hotel was initially fully booked. I needed to change rooms because of it being next to the lift, with a fully booked hotel, she managed to arrange for a move to another room.
Rooms were very clean and the bathroom looked like it was new, with shower being a powered system.

Overall a good experience with breakfast included in the room rate, would stay there again, and highly recommend it.

Came down on a spur of the moment thing, lovely hotel, staff very friendly and helpful, room was nice and clean, we had a sea view and well worth the extra money, we ate that evening in the hotel restaurant, food was very nice and reasonably priced, 3 courses for £22, good base to explore Eastbourne, they also have a few car park spaces so when you book make sure you mention you require one, all in all a really nice quiet hotel and we will definitely be coming here again soon.

We stayed for 2 nights celebrating my in-laws 60th Wedding Anniversary. The staff were very helpful when my wife phoned up on the morning of arrival to ask for some bottles of Schloer and some chocolates to be put in their room. They also brought in a cake for them at the end of the evening meal. A nice touch. The rooms were lovely and very clean, as was the whole hotel. The breakfast and the evening meal were lovely. We would have scored a 5 but for the shower and also the lack of parking. We had a lovely stay and would definitely return

My husband and I needed to book a hotel room at very short notice due to a family emergency. I found the Langham on the internet via trip advisor and I am so glad I did.
I telephoned the Langham direct to check the availability and the young man on reception could not have been more helpful. The same young man on reception (I think it was the same person I spoke to on the telephone) was very professional and helpful.
What a refreshing change to be checked into a hotel so efficiently. Very impressed.
Granted our oom was quite small and facing inland but this was a last minute booking.
The room was very clean. The bed was very comfortable. Pillows, sheets, and towels were of a very good quality. (This is worth mentioning because I have stayed at other hotels in Eastbourne and their linens have been awful. Pillows as flat as pancakes)
The room had everything you could have wanted. Could possibly do,with a little refrigerator especially this summer.. The dining room was lovely with crisp white table clothes and flowers on the table. It’s these’s small touches that make a big difference.
How lovely to be served breakfast at your table instead of having to queue up at a buffet for cold food. The breakfast on both my days was very good. Well cooked and hot! The waitress was charming and very efficient. A great start to the day. In fact all the staff that I met at the Langham were great. The hotel is a lovely old building and has a charm all of its own. I had a lovely two days stay and next time would love to stay longer.

We had stayed here 2 years ago and decided the hotel alone was worth the long tortuous trip round the M25. This time we knew what to expect, good food, excellent service and efficient and courteous staff. I had the added bonus, this time, of getting to chat to the owner Neil Kirby who gladly signed a copy of his book outlining his life and times at The Grosvenor Hotel in London. I can recommend the book as highly as The Langham.
There is quiet entertainment in the evening for those who want it and a lovely lounge for after dinner drinks at reasonable prices.
A fan was provided in the room to counteract the hot weather.

The Langham hotel is a nice medium priced hotel. We upgraded to a sea view room which was really worth it, as the hotel is right on the front. Three nice big windows and the room was a reasonable size and spotlessly clean. The bathroom was also spotlessly clean, very small but functional. The hotel in general was well kept and clean, with a nice bar, and outside tables facing the sea. Breakfast was excellent, with a good variety including a lovely fresh fruit salad. All the staff we encountered were very friendly and helpful. The hotel itself was further away from the pier and main part of the town than I expected. The promenade is excellent, goes from end to end of the resort and is good for walking, buggies or wheelchairs. Quite a good shopping centre with a few different shops and lots of small restaurants. There is a good efficient bus service if you want to visit other places. The only down side for us was that the resort is looking tired and would benefit from a good clean up, the pubs were tired looking, but as most hotels have bars that doesn't always matter,

We had a lovely stay- great room with a sea view, fab deco, scrumptious breakfast and amazing staff. Simon the manager was super courteous and helpful when we booked, Miguel was heroic in his efforts to try and help me locate a purse I had inadvertent left in our car, and Angelique was simply superb: she recommended a great place where we watched the World Cup final, which was simply perfect, and was generally exceptionally friendly and welcoming. We definitively hope to stay at the Langham again!

The bedroom was clean and tidy. We had a room at the back so we could leave the window open all day because we had in the sun in our room all day we closed the curtains to keep the room cool. You had a good choice for breakfast. You are only a bus ride away from the town centre, plenty of shops to look around in.

Very welcoming, we arrived to early for our room but they were very helpful, regarding parking, they have some parking spaces but you have to book, the hotel is very clean and well looked after, they have a certificate for food hygiene rated 5 very good, they offer packed lunches for only £5.50, the afternoon teas looked fab, even though we didn't get time to try one, the breakfast was lovely well presented, even the chairs in the dining room were put at an angle in a welcoming way for you to sit, you can also sit in the conservatory to eat, they have a nice seating area out the front overlooking the sea, we had a very small inside twin room, which was very hot, a fan was provided, if I come to eastbourne again I would defiantly stay here, but I would choose a larger room, the cost was very reasonable...a lovely stay

Spent one night at this superb hotel, yes the décor is a little dated, classic more appropriate, but this adds to the quaintness of The Langham. The rooms were exceptionally clean with all facilities and the breakfast was excellent, all the staff were attentive and polite. Thoroughly enjoyed the stay there and would definitely return. Very good value for money.

Eastbourne is definitely worth visiting whatever your age. Go to the Bandstand, brilliant entertainment.

I took my 91 year old mum for three nights, she loved the hotel, her room with sea view, the wonderfully attentive staff and scrumptious food.
We had the sea view four poster room which was stunning.
Caught 99 bus to town as goes just outside the hotel, we went to the lovely Devonshire Park theatre and Hastings old town.

We will definitely be back and I wouldn't want to be in any other hotel in Eastbourne 😊

We found the Langham lived up to our expectations and exceeded them. The room was beautifully decorated and furnished and the bathroom was amazing with the walk in shower. The view over looking the sea was great. The staff were very helpful and attentive. The breakfast was very good and the choices were excellent. We will definitely return

We have just spent a very enjoyable weekend at the Langham hotel, as part of the celebrations for my mum & dad’s 70th wedding anniversary. This is a great hotel that is comfortable and the Staff all aim to give 100% excellent customer service. Nothing is too much trouble. Even at busy times all customers are given very good service. The hotel has a very good restaurant that is well managed by Luke with a great team of waiting staff. My parents have stayed here before on several occasions but this was our first stay. We will definately be going back again and would recommend this hotel with confidence.

The room in the hotel was immaculate and tastefully decorated. The overall condition of the hotel was clean and tidy. The atmosphere was rather formal and the menu in the restaurant was very limited and disappointing. Especially breakfast. We could not help ourselves and had to be satisfied with exactly what we were given which on arrival I might not have chosen after all.
We had a lovely sea view which was added to our bill as well as the extra cost of a parking space for my disabled husband.
Staff behind the desk were not helpful and our key had not been registered when we arrived to our room. The internet was also turned off before we left.
