The Langham Hotel came up trumps at last night's Valentines dinner dance. Everything was perfect and couldn't be faulted. Ambiance warm and welcoming, all staff happy and obliging, food delicious including the gluten free options which were so easily provided. The in house entertainment was excellent and our room was impeccable and spotless and attractive. Thank you very much, we'll be back for sure.

We attended the Rookesley Lodge Ladies Festival from 6-8th Feb and what lucky ladies we all were. From start to finish the management and all the staff at The Langham gave us 100% service and 100% professionalism. It was an excellent weekend for all concerned. The rooms were spotlessly clean, the staff were all friendly and helpful and the Ladies Festival meal on the Saturday evening was delicious.Everything that had been requested was provided and the venue looked beautiful on the Saturday night. Some of us had stayed at the hotel previously so knew how good it was and had obviously recommended it,the others in our party were very impressed with hotel and its staff. We all enjoyed a busy, fun filled weekend .A big thank you to ALL the management and staff but a special mention to Fay,Luigi,Shannon and Nick (the barman) who remembered some of us from a previous visit and were once again very friendly and helpful. Please also pass on our thanks to the band Tempo 1 who were fantastic on the Saturday night and kept the dance floor full.....Thank You to you all.

A British seaside hotel at its best, with smiling staff and attitudes to match.
Tastefully decorated, the hotel has dealt well with its quirky narrow corridors and made the best use of space to accommodate 21st century life.
We were with several friends for this weekend visit, so had the opportunity to see a range of rooms, all sea facing, from a first floor with a traditional Four Poster bed, up to a 3rd floor more modern room, and all were spotlessly clean and well presented. The restaurant has a wide choice of food on the menu from succulent steaks, a creamy risotto, tender lamb etc, etc, and not forgetting the great traditional English breakfast, which will see you through the whole day.
The bar area is both relaxing and interesting as it has memorabilia such as Henry Coopers boxing Gloves, photos of many Hollywood film stars, a signed picture of Pele with Mohammed Ali, plus many others that will attract your attention when drinking from the well stocked bar. Being the start of February we didn't sit on the terrace, but in the summer It would be a great place to enjoy a refreshing drink or a cream tea, and enjoy the views across the Sea and up to the Pier which is a short walk away.
All together this is a great hotel that will be first choice as and when we return to Eastbourne, and highly recommended to anyone who I hear who is heading this way.

The hotel is situated on the sea front within a short walk to the pier.
Staff very friendly and helpful. There is a lift to all floors but some of the rooms at the rear are still accessed by a few stairs.
Room was clean and well presented, good sized bathroom with bath and shower, comfortable large bed.
Good choice of food on the menu, service in the restaurant good, good full English breakfast set us up for the day, good selection evening meals were all well cooked and well presented. During our stay I enjoyed all the meals.
Good atmosphere in the bar in the evening with local entertainment as it was New Year.
All in all an enjoyable stay, would return and stay if in the area again

The Langham will warm the cockles of your heart from the moment you step through the door. The reception staff are lovely and appear genuinely interested in their guests and ensuring a comfortable stay. I love this hotel. We had a 3rd floor sea view room which was very warm and very comfy, the bathroom is a little smaller than some but has all the amenities and was spotlessly clean. Ordered room service cheese and biscuits which was served so nicely on a slate with grapes, celery and home made chutney for a mere £3.80, super breakfast, great value for money. Now I'm looking for an excuse to go back!

When we arrived they were very friendly, then as we got out of the lift the corridors were quite narrow. We had upgraded our room and when we entered it was very large but felt a little drab. The shower and toilet was fantastic and very modern. We think they had tried to keep the decorations to the style of the hotel and we soon got used to it.
ALL the Staff were 5 star doing over and above their duties and made it a very comfortable stay (Thank You) The restaurant was excellent and very good value

A cold arrival in January for room 141.....room freezing,no heating on, no double glazing on both huge windows.
Reception girl organised a radiator to be placed in room, but did not offer an alternative room.
We both had cold sleep, under one blanket each only one extra blanket available, and condensation pouring from windows. The hall and landing were warmer than our room! Good atmosphere coming from dining room and obviously a favourite hotel for many. We had under cooked chips and good steak which quickly got cold in Conservatory restaurant, but we did eavesdrop on excellent entertainment provided by "Duoalilty". Breakfast was excellent as were the very pleasant staff. Asked for warmer room as we left in morning for family visit, and were promised "it would be looked into" by male receptionist, who said we had "one of the un-upgraded rooms!" But no change of room...which had just about warmed up for our second night stay. £180 for 2 nights stay in an "un-upgraded room" was a bit steep. But cannot fault the friendly warm staff. Family visits will be more frequent..will we stay again..... Warmer room and easier parking...maybe?

Very friendly and welcoming staff throughout.
We had a four poster room and whilst not huge was perfect. We were offered another room as there was a party going on below and the manager was concerned we would be disturbed - we were not and we were happy to keep our four poster room.
We were only there for one night but we were made to feel so welcome and that nothing was too much trouble. We had wine in our room and after our meal asked for the cheeseboard and coffee to be served in our room - by the time we got to our room it was already there.
We had a meal in the restaurant and it was superb. Even though there was a large group having a party we were fantastically looked after and the food was wonderful.
Breakfast too was great - all the food freshly prepared and hot toast. I would absolutely recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Eastbourne.

Having again re-visited the Langham just had to write a review to stress what a brilliant time we Had a great time at the "Rat Pack Weekend" Jan 2015, thoroughly enjoyed the excellent food, the ambiance and the excellent Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin,Sammy Davies and Neil Diamond entertainment provide by the brilliant Dean Agers, not to mention the excellent back up band "Duo Ality"with special mention to Luigi the waiter that accompanied the Rat Pack Man in their fab version of "Volare", not many places that you can be in "Vegas" at a very reasonable cost in January!!
Absolutele value for money, with no air fares!!!

Well done Neil and all the staff at the Langham ensuring a great week-end and looking forward to booking for some of the other excellent forth coming dates!

From the first contact with the manager Simon to make the arrangements for a lunch for 24 covers
Nothing was to much trouble from choice of menus table plans wine choices children's menus this was all handled very professionally.
On the day of the lunch we had organised a champagne reception with luigi looking after all my guests the rest of the of the day was perfect the food and service was of a very high standard and every member of staff were well trained and very professional.
The chef is one of the best chefs in the area and deserves the AA rosettes for good food we will be more than happy to recommend this hotel to anyone who would ask.
Thanks to everybody
Bill scott.

Our three day break got off to a good start when, on parking our car in the loading area outside the hotel, a smart and friendly young gentleman rushed out to help with our luggage, check us in and take us to our room. We had booked a superior sea view on the second floor and it was a large lovely room with a modern well equipped shower room en -suite. We had armchairs to relax in and admire the view and more than enough storage space. Heating was well controlled so we were neither too hot at night nor too cold when using the room during the day. Dinners each night were 3 course and were very well cooked and presented with a good wine list to accompany. There was always a vegetarian dish included in the choices. Breakfast again was all waiter served with both English and continental options again very well cooked. All the staff we met were extremely friendly and helpful, we got the impression that they are happy to work there and interact well with each other. New Years Eve entertainment had an excellent band playing in the restaurant. This necessitated some tables, ours included, being moved to accommodate them. We were not entirely happy with where we ended up sitting, right at the back of the restaurant by the door. It was very cramped and we felt that possibly a few too many people had been booked in for the evening. (not everyone appeared to be resident). However, we didn't let this spoil our evening. There was a firework display outside the hotel mid way through the evening and this really was one of the best I have seen in the UK for a long time. New Years Day the hotel had a lunch for non residents so booked tickets for those staying to the pantomime. Its a long time since I've been to a panto but it really was first class, so glad we went. The majority of the guests were 50+ age wise but all there to have a good time, the dance floor was packed on New Years Eve.
In conclusion a most enjoyable stay and if visiting Eastbourne again wouldn't look to stay anywhere else.

Took a chance after seeing this hotel on the internet and am very glad I did so. The hotel is spotless and the staff go out of their way to be helpful, I have never been in a hotel where the owner came round the tables to make sure that everybody had everything they ordered and were happy. Food was first class and the drinks were very reasonably priced. If I ever go to Eastbourne again there is only one hotel I want to stay at and that is this one.

Came here for a friends 40th Birthday Party.
Staff friendly and welcoming, hotel has a lovely atmosphere to it.
Lovely bar (drinks not expensive) with ample sitting every where with large function room and dance floor. Toilets clean and well presented.
Sea views from all around as this hotel as it's on the sea front.
Food was delicious and tasty with more than enough supplied.
A few of us stayed over, our rooms were with a sea view (free Wifi)
Very spacious and clean.
Felt like home from home with tea and coffee facilities.
Comfy bed, fluffy towels and room service if you wanted it!
What more could you ask for!
Wheel chair friendly too
Would recommend this hotel

We chose a normal double room with sea view; the view was fantastic with table and chairs in a bay window so we could really enjoy it. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Hotel is warm and friendly but retains an air of refined Englishness. Bar v pleasant again with great sea view. Breakfast was fully table service but still with lots of choice- a rarity these days.

After reading the previous review I am rather surprised, it must have been for a different hotel. We had booked for the boxing day 2nd sitting lunch also and have also stayed at this hotel before. The staff are all friendly and welcoming and the meal was top quality. We did not have any issues at all with the food or service that the hotel provided. The reception staff were especially helpful when assisting with coats as I have just had a shoulder operation and could not bend my arm properly.

I was more than satisfied with the table we were given in the restaurant, when we have stayed here before we have eaten good meals and always had a lovely room. Each time we go the owners and management team seem to be doing more to make the hotel better and better.

I look forward to returning both as a resident and non-resident guest as everything is always excellent and this is certainly in my opinion one of the best hotels on the south coast

The langham is a very friendly family run 4star hotel and from the moment we checked in at reception the staff could not do enough for us welcoming us back and offering to park our car for us. This was the 5th Christmas we have stayed at the Langham for their Christmas package and once again it was excellent. The food in the restaurant ( we were in the conservatory ) was excellent and although my wife is a celiac and has a dairy allergy nothing was a problem, as you would expect in a 4star hotel. Our room was tastefully furnished and spotlessly clean with towels, bottled water, biscuits, ( gluten free for my wife ) replenished every day. It really is a lovely friendly family run hotel where you will always see the owners around the hotel chatting away. This is the reason we keep coming back. We back in a few days time for New Year's Eve break. Roger and Joan Chenery Ipswich Suffolk.

We stayed at the Langham just before Christmas. Our seaview room was lovely and newly refurbished. All the staff are so friendly and went out of their way to help whenever asked. The food in the restaurant is top quality and I will definitely be back to dine in the Conservatory Restaurant very soon. I highly recommend the Langham to anyone visiting Eastbourne.

Have been to the hotel a couple of times for tea and enjoyed with friends, and as a local resident of Eastbourne decided to have Boxing Day lunch with my family at the Langham. The menu choice was good and pre-ordered as requested. We selected the second sitting which was at 3 pm. Arrived at hotel earlier for a drink before in the bar. The doorman/security man was welcoming and pleasant. There wasn't a particularly welcoming greeting from there on. We had to ask if our coats could be hung up. Settling down in the lounge was informed that we would have to order drinks at the bar ourselves and no wine list was offered. Is this four star service? We were taken to our table for lunch, and as soon as we sat down the starters arrived. No wine list was offered had to ask for it. There was a lovely candle decoration in middle of table had to ask for it to be lit. main courses arrived fully plated surprised vegetables not served separately and had to ask for horseradish sauce. Our wine glasses were never replenished or any offer thereof. A couple of waiting staff asked if everything was alright but there didn't seem to be anyone in overall charge in the restaurant. Our puddings arrived very soon after finishing main course. We were then offered coffee and also ordered some drinks. Overall the food was very tasty, huge portion of ginger pudding and delicious ice cream sundae. My heart sunk when I saw the coffee being poured from flask and served with cold milk it was vile. The whole meal felt rushed. Tables were being cleared around us and we felt uncomfortable and couldn't wait to get home. The staff although courteous and polite lacked some finesse. It did not feel like a special lunch and completely lacked any festive atmosphere. Looking at all the reviews perhaps as a staying guest you get treated differently . Sorry will not not be returning for even a cup of tea.

The Langham has done it again-surpassed all expectations in all aspects; customer service, food, accommodation and Christmas atmosphere. Having stayed here on a couple of occasions have never had the chance to experience a winter visit. The rooms continue to improve, along with the ability to open windows for fresh air as needed and control the temperature of your own room with individual heaters is a huge benefit.
As I have noted previously the consistency in the staffs' approach to customer service is refreshing. Irrespective of their role from domestic staff, receptionist to manager nothing is ever too much trouble. With a proactive and willing attitude they will also recognise a need before you do. There is always a comforting and reassuring feeling when you return somewhere and the staff remember and welcome you back as if you had been there only a few hours previously.
Keep upeople the great work. Would love to see the Langham style replicated in other places!!!

Wonderful 4 star hotel and excellent staff. I've stayed in very nice refurbished room. I really enjoyed breakfast and the evening entertainment in the bar, especially Graham. I can't wait to return next year. Highly recommended.
