We dream about coming back to this restaurant! If you like Turkish, or Greek, food, then you will not find better than this. The meze are so fresh, and delicious, and better than many we have had in Greece. The chef cooks the meats sitting at a grill in a corner of the restaurant, reaching over for whatever fresh vegetables he needs from his stash nearby. The owner is charming. Truly delicious, fresh food - no sign of a microwave here!!

Nice food and staff. Menu massive, a bit too big, I would have liked a choice of set dishes. Gets busy so book, but don't worry if cant get in as there is a huge choice of restaurants in the area. I will defiantly be back to Eastbourne to eat.

Have been going to Meze for many years now. The service is always excellent. The food is wonderful, so very different from anything you find in a kebab shop. The menu has a lot to choose from, and i am never disappointed. They do get quite busy, but service most of the time is quick. And you can always nibble on the delicous complimentary bread and olives while you wait.
I love this place and would thoroughly recommend it.In one review on here they said that the cous cous was horrible, but i'd like to point out they tend to serve Bulgar wheat not cous cous, so that may be why you had problems. Make sure you read your menu!

The food here is always of a high quality and very meaty. As residents, we eat here often and always come away stuffed. Don't bother with a starter, they give you some free nibbles when you get there and then a massive main course. Cooking area is in the restaurant, so you can see your dinner being cooked.

I have eaten at Meze at least three times when I have visited Eastbourne and each time I have enjoyed every single mouthful.
Like many who enjoy the food at this welcoming restaurant, it takes me back to holidays in Turkey and the beautiful sensations of truly magnificent Turkish food.
The staff are charming, the menu fantastic and the prices reasonable. I look forward to my return to Eastbourne's premier Turkish eaterie.

Lovely friendly restaurant. Grill in restaurant so you can see your food being cooked.
On arrival received complimentary Pida bread with olives, garlic butter and goats cheese, almost good enough to have nothing else! Followed up with a bite sizeTurkish pizza.Starter was a good selection of meze, all beautifully cooked and followed with grilled kebabs, not like those eaten at 3 am, you could actually see what meat they were.
A lovely evening out – would certainly frequent again.

After reading the glowing reviews I chose this restaurant for a special night out with my wife. Well it's not very special but it is good value and friendly. The food was really just a grill and there wasn't too much subtle about it. Good meat dishes were accompanied by unimaginative salads and some quite nasty couscous. Starters were so so and we came out full but a bit disappointed.

We have visited this restaurant several times over the last five years or so and every time it is fabulous. Brilliant atmosphere, no pretentiousness in sight. Authentic, relaxed and plenty of food.
We love watching the chef cooking - no shouting, swearing or ordering other staff around. He just sits there and gets on with it. Amazing.
We had my parents-in-law's golden wedding anniversary here. Everyone loved it - all ages and tastes. Staff couldn't be more helpful and friendly.

We are frequent visitors of this place and the only downside of this restaurant is the lack of space! The food is fresh and tasty unlike those disgusting donner kebab places. This is the real authentic stuff! We usually share a platter full of various meats. I love the fact that you can see them cooking and you won't find their fresh baked bread anywhere else!

Meze is the sort of place that you would never know of without someone telling you to go there, so I'm telling you that you must go there!
Simple food, cooked perfectly in an authentic, cosy setting where the portions are generous, staff are welcoming and the freebies are aplenty

we were visiting Eastbourne as a short break. We found this restaurant on trip advisor and decided to eat there as our first couples dinner in ages (children with grandparents).
The restaurant didnt disappoint. It was small but perfectly formed. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the food was beautiful. My husband and I had mixed salad, dips and filo parcels with feta and herbs. Our main was grilled lamb and chicken cooked in an open kitchen over a charcoal pit. It was seasoned well and the texture was perfect.
Even though full, I wanted to try the baklava (when done well it is one of my favourite things). It was made well, and I regretted offering to share with my husband. The meal was rounded off with an authentic turkish coffee.

This restaurant is a 'must' in Eastbourne.
The food is genuinely Turkish and really tasty. There's lots of variety on the menu and it is reasonably priced. The food is cooked in an open kitchen and the portions are generous.
There is always a relaxed atmosphere and it is advisable to book at weekends as it does get really busy.
The service is always excellent and they are happy to bring you extras such as bread and nibbles.
Highly recommended!

Turkish and Greek cuisine isn't something I would usually choose but we went as a party of 16 and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Great atmosphere, very relaxed. Delicious food and nice sized portions. The rose wine is lovely, again, not something I usually order but it went really well with the aromatic spices in the food I chose. I will go again.

We tried Meze on a whim but are really glad we did. The food was great and the service excellent. If there is any criticism it's that they gave us so much food, in particular the ever present breads and large portion sizes, that we struggled to finish our dinners. However this is nit-picking. Go to Meze for something different, you won't be disappointed, but go easy on the bread!

We had lunch here and it was excellent. The food was fresh and flavorful. The service was good. The value was great. Smoked aubergine salad ans the spicy dip were both excellent and new to us. The lamb was grilled to perfection. We would come back again if we could.

This is a fantastic little restaurant. The food is Turkish, but also reminiscent of Greece, everything freshly made, much of it in front of your eyes. The meze platter as a starter is so delicious, with smoky aubergine salad, a chilli salad, cucumber and garlic, hoummous and lots more. The grilled meats, with their sides, are so good. Close your eyes and you are sitting in a little harbour somewhere in Turkey!

There are very few good restaurants in Eastbourne but this is one of the best. The food is so fresh and when we commented on it, the owner told us they don't actually have any freezers. The little nibble starters were such a nice touch while looking at the lovely menu and it was great to see the pitta bread actually being made, kneaded and then put in the bread oven. I think it was a bit pricey, but I have paid more for a lot less. Finally I have found a good restaurant in Eastbourne.

This is a family run Turkish restaurant and nice to see the chefs actually cooking at the BBQ within the open restaurant area.
Food was fresh and good value - no complaints.
Lovely bread starter and nibbles while browsing the menu.
We had prebooked for a Sat night - and it was busy.
Cost £50 for 2 including a bottle of wine - starters, mains and a dessert to share.
