Food ok ... meat a little chewy . Menu appeared to have many dishes but they were all variations of the same ingredients ! Service was good considering how busy they were and there was a nice relaxed atmosphere . Probably wouldn't return but wouldn't put you of trying either !

On a cold rainy night we sought refuge in Meze. The food was very good traditional Turkish. Delicious juicy lamb with all the trimmings. Complimentary nibbles arrived including wonderful bread and olives. We arrived about 8.00 and it was fairly busy - completely empty, apart from us, by 9.30 - but it was out of season. The staff were friendly and the restaurant deserves to succeed. We'd definitely return.

Excellent food cooked right in front of you on the charcoal grill - very tasty and lots of choice. We have been a couple of times now and each time the food was excellent.

Althoug visiting as a 'lonely# business person I was made very welcome - a wounderful football size puffed up bread made in front of me and cooked in the open oven was immediately followed by olices, cheese and a mini pitta breead with minced lamb (again cooked in the oven) - and that was before I even ordered! I had the Meze special - Lamb Chops, Lamp and chicken kebebs and minced lamb with excellent tomatoe and onion salad, bread, bulgar wheat and yoghurt - an extreamy generous platefull and again cooked in front of me over charcoal. I would certainly recommend Meze very highly - I understand you need to book at the weekend - I am not at all surprised!!

We have been twice this week with friends and will soon be back again. Absolutely great food - try the platter for two. Turkish red wine superb and the atmosphere great. Service impeccable and interesting to watch the chef at work.

This was my second visit to this restaurant, this time as part of a group of four to celebrate my daughter's birthday. The atmosphere is lively and there is a real middle eastern feel. The evening started with the complementary puffed up pide (bread) with tasty and interesting accompaniments. We ordered an excellent Merlot and then a range of starters, main courses and desserts from friendly and efficient waiting staff. We shared the excellent dishes between us which I understand is a feature of Turkish Meze dining. We really like the fresh and interesting flavours and a particular feature is seeing the food prepared at the charcoal grill whilst siting at the table . Sharing the various dishes is a really good way to enjoy the delicious and varied flavours and adds to the dining experience. Eating at this atmospheric restaurant is highly recommended.

Whether you are celebrating or just having a quiet meal this place offers excellent, friendly service and freshly cooked food. The complementary flat bread and feta/butter/olives before the main meal is a bonus that never fails to bring smiles to anyone's face that has not previously experienced Meze. Such a personal feel to the service, it is where I go for any celebration :)

Me and my partner went and ordered with our stomachs so got the biggest thing. It paid off, it was £15 ish but it was really worth it. The spicing was good, deep flavours with good hunks of meat with a nicely sharp dressed salad to cut through those butch and bullish flavours and textures. Also comes with this puffed up parachute looking bread thing which was cooked fresh in the clay oven which was DELICIOUS. You must go, don't be put off by the location. One critique would be that the tables were close together so was an air of uncomfortable and unintentional eavesdropping on one another's tables kinda vibe, but I don't really care about that because I'm quite nosey.

Tha food was lovely but the amount you get for the price you pay was terrible, i paid £13.50 for my main course and the portion size of it could have been a starter. Overall the food was nice but they need to sort out there portion sizes.

Lovely fresh cooked food, very good service and they didn't mind that we turned up a little early... Squeezed us in straight away. Both myself and my partner had the mixed kebab grill and it was so tasty, the meat was brilliant. I always wondered what it would be like being in the part of town it is, but it's a gem! It had a good atmosphere and was jam packed on a Thursday night, which says it all really!

Been meaning to go here for years and thoroughly enjoyed our visit...ingredients and range of food all good and food cooked in the open for you to see. Service good with comfy corner sofa style seating with cushions.
Just one mix up really - when ordering the meat platter for 5 big eaters the waitress said that each platter was huge and we'd only need 3 for the 5 of us. We were served up what we thought was one of the 3 platters with two more to come ... it turned out to be the 3 platters on one plate and was therefore quite expensive at £60 ish
The "restaurant imposed" smaller portions probably added a few months to our lifespan and ensured slightly more comfortable trousers which indeed is no bad thing but we were perfectly happy to pay for 5 platters so seemed a bit unecessary for an intervention... unless of course they were running out of meat???
All told one of the better restaurant choices in Eastbourne. I will go back.

we just popped in as we didnt want to go home and cook and were really pleased we did. this is a great find in Eastbourne the waiter/owner is attentive and helped on the best dishes and offered his advice.
food was good quality and represented Turkey incredible well. we will go back again and explore the menu further.

Great host, friendly atmosphere and a pleasant restuarant. Food is prepared and cooked in front of you. Very fresh and tasty. Great value for money. The type of restuarant you could visit on a weekly basis. Very impressed.
