Very informative and well cared for by English Heritage, the gentleman in the ticket office/souvenir shop was very helpful and showed a genuine interest in the visitors.

The audio tour was interesting. Worth getting as you receive a lot more information than just what's on the notice boards

Fantastic grounds with large area to walk, the roman walls are fascinating and impressive. Going into the castle you have to pay at a little kiosk and the lady there was very helpful. Audio is available and the castle itself is great to visit, so much history in one place! Definately recomend to family's or history buffs, but beware there are a fair few stairs to climb up and down!

Very interesting audio tour and lovely people in the office. Be sure to also take a look at the small museum, on the main street just a few minutes' walk from the castle.

A nice walk around the grounds, not much to see inside the castle remains though - expensive entry fee for whats there compared to other castles we have visited

The pub opposite is lovely!

Roman history and the still standing and fairly intact Roman outter walls are amazing, 3 time periods of military occupation on one site.

A great place to visit excellent knowledge from the lady who volunteers there, good quality and informative notices around the area, the church next door is worth a visit as it's a five minute walk away. As members of English Heritage it is value for money however if you aren't a member I would be dissapointed with what's available for the entrance fee. Overall a great place. Second visit of the year and still worth it the volunteers are excellent
