Currently being restored so scaffolding everywhere which we did not know about till we arrived. Dog and family friendly. No official English heritage parking but you can find parking on the street by back entrance or pay and use public carpark at front.

The castle has very interesting history. Worth the visit if you are in Eastbourne area. This also has lovely tea room and beer garden near the castle. The village itself has nice atmosphere. Car park is large and cost £2.50 for parking. Highly recommend.

Wonderful grounds that you can walk around and picnic in for free. Inside the castle was having a lot of work done so we couldn't go upstairs which was a shame, but it would have been lovely up there. Good for a short fun visit but wouldn't entertain most groups for more than a couple of hours.

A very old ruin. Good for a hiking stop. The restaurant opposite looked very good. If you're lucky, there'll be an ice cream truck with soft ice cream in front of it.
