A giant ruin with not a lot else to see few little nods to second world war and battle of Hastings would benefit from some renovation. And more guides and just more artefacts

I have grown up close to the castle. So many memories and always a nice place to visit, never disappointed no matter the weather.

A good castle ruin with lots of history, we were here about 2 hours with 2 small children and we all enjoyed it. Recommend the tea Room next door too!

Actually really interesting place. Two 11 year olds loved it. Shame there wasn't more interactive stuff.Very nice areas for a picnic around the castle.

Really huge and very interesting but you probably need the audio guide to make the most of it I think. I usually don't bother with those, but I did here and I don't think I would have had too much of a clue without it. They made a lot of the dungeons but I don't think that really lived up to the hype. Beautiful though, and worth a visit. The car park is not free for English Heritage members, but it's only £2 all day; don't think it's been resurfaced since the Roman days though...

Lovely castle with lots of history. No toilets which for me was inconvenient to go all the way back to the car park.

The ruins of Pevensey Castle, from which the outer walls remain. A large courtyard, a cannon for defense.

It's a small fort wall ruins. Felt too highly priced for what's available. 3 of the rowers had WW2 exhibits which were minimal.

Just had a revamp, more to see and interactive. The man in reception was fantastic with our little boy and we could tell he genuinely enjoys his job. He told us all the bits to look at and gave us a quiz to go round with. English heritage are now giving children little badges when they visit which is a nice touch for the next generation who will be responsible for these places!

This was quite an interesting castle to visit. The exhibits were well put together and informative. It was cool to see how the landscape around the castle has changed over the past thousand years. There was a small walk from the parking lot to the entrance that might be prohibiive to some people. I would give this place a visit if you are ever in the area.

Great castle with lots of history, mystery trail for kids and lots of good spots for a picnic. No toilets on site and car park belongs to a museum so parking needs to be paid for.
