We were going to see a show at the Congress theatre so wanted to eat somewhere within a few minutes walk from the theatre, the Sabaidee was perfect. It is a compact restaurant very clean and authentically decorated in Thai style. The staff were very friendly and attentive and helpful when choosing from the extensive menu. The food and service was first class.
Will definitely return and would recommend. Essential to book.Easy parking in the street and free after 6pm.

Eastbourne has quite a few really good Thai restaurants and this is no exception. Couldn't fault the food or the service. Very reasonable prices too. Will definitely eat here again

We came for a pre-theatre supper and were running a bit late, which I explained. The food came quickly, was fresh and delicious. The service was very friendly and efficient. Also nice wine by the glass - not your usual house wine! Would definitely recommend.

Having booked seats at the Congress we were looking for a suitable restaurant close by and having eaten here a couple of times before we decided to give it another go as the food has always been superb. This visit was if anything better than the others. We were greeted by a very friendly waiter who showed us to our table and took an order for drinks. We perused the extensive menu and decided to go for the fixed menu consisting of a starter assortment followed by soup and then a three dish main course with rice. How often do we eat starters even in the better Thai restaurants that are so obviously bought in frozen? Not the case here the Sesame Prawn Toast was on French Bread ovals, the Chicken Sate meaty and succulent and the Duck Spring rolls obviously freshly made. All I would say were made in house absolutely great. The Soups were fantastic and the main dishes unusual and very tasty. We ended up full and happy. We will definitely go again the place is always busy and the service always good and attentive. Fantastic and good value.

Great food, great service, great location. We lived in Thailand so we know good Thai food and this was good. That fish cakes were yummy and the satay chicken was juicy and not dry at all. The Thai beef salad was stunning but very spicy but we had cold singer beers to cool the fire. Very clean restaurant with good service.

Visited this restaurant recently and my expectations were low.
What a surprise it was to find that the food was authentic and tasty with the added bonus of being very good value.
The restaurant is tastefully decorated and the service was attentive and friendly.
Not since my last trip to Thailand have I experienced Thai food this good

Couldn't find anywhere else to eat, all booked up. But so glad we found this place and they managed to fit us helpful that it was just 2 of us. Lovely food and Service would go back.

Went in here off reviews ,food ok ,duck curry perfect spicing for us, my only niggle is that we have just lived in France for 5yrs®ulary used a thai there with thai chefs &they serve just right amount of portions(uk thai's just seem to do too big rice portion & not slice duck nice &thin(leave thick fat on) I would visit Sgain but would like to take time between courses,it was too rushed!!best thai I have recently just been to was (banana tree in Milton Keynes)fantastic food,flavours,service&realngood buzz!!! If in area try it!!!!

I had a lovely meal here as part of a business trip. The service was attentive, prompt and polite and the meal was wonderfully presented. It would be useful to have a guide on the menu as to the amount of chill it in dishes - mine was hot (which I was fine with but it may not be for everyone).

As being very close to the hotel we are staying, we tried this restaurant. They have a very extensive menu, lovely atmosphere, and very reasonable prices. ordered a soup and than a main course with rice ,and had to ask for get most of the mains for take away! so very generous portions too! highly reccommend!

Excellent set meal before the 7.30 Tuesday performance. Arrived 5.45 and had ample time to get to the theatre a five minute walk. The food was very good as were the waiting staff both friendly, polite and efficient. Portions were plentiful and drinks reasonably priced. Would thoroughly recommend.

Popped in for a pre-theatre dinner on Saturday night. The place was full but the service was swift but not hurried. We had the £19.95 set meal for 2, which was actually enough food for 3 people. The food was tasty if unspectacular. The chicken curry was the best of the dishes.

It's so good here we went on two consecutive days!! Friendly welcome from this family run restaurant. Good, varied menu and a wine list, which offered fair priced wines. We visited (for the second time) after the theatre and, despite them closing at 10:30pm, they made us very welcome. And it's only a two minute walk from The View Hotel.

Our Friends had booked a table for the busy Saturday Night session and specifically asked for the one table in the window. We actually got it and on walking in, the whole place was buzzing and all but two tables were full. My wife and I chose to share a set menu Starters and mains only at £19.95 per person and it was superb. Our friends chose various items from the menu and praised all the dishes. The food was hot and very tasty. Our drinks order was taken as we sat down and appeared with a bowl of Prawn Crackers and dip within a couple of minutes. Our order was taken five minutes later and the food arrived in very reasonable time. A break between courses was welcome and the mains arrived again in very good time. The service was friendly and attentive and the drinks pricey but not overly so. I will be visiting again and look forward to trying something different from the extensive menu. A great evening with good friends enhanced by the staff and atmosphere.

I have written many reviews and you always feel bad when you have to write a bad one.
Especially when the other reviews for this restaurant is good. But I'm trying to be very objective.

The restaurant is very cozy and I like linen cloth on the table.
When we arrived I already got the feeling in and out as quick as possible, which already made me irritated. If I want a quick meal I choose fast food restaurant.
It took 5 min and we had our starter platter, including fish cake, spring roll, sate and a fried shrimp, nothing special. And as a spice to it this waiter guy was hovering over us all the time to see if we finished.
Our main dishes we put in the middle and shared, 6 dishes all different, pad Thai, salmon, stir fried basil beef, Thai curry, seafood mixture and Thai duck. My salmon tasted so much fish that I got the feeling the fish was not fresh . The pad Thai was soaked in sauce and to sweet. We ordered spicy but the dishes where not spicy at all.
The curry was the best together with the coconut rice we all had. The coconut rice was the only thing I really felt was authentic. I have been in Thailand many times but this is not authentic to me. Sorry to write that.
My family got irritated because I was complaining about the food, and the annoying guy who was serving us and just wanted us to be done in 20 min or less. 6 people eating and no one was blown away..
I asked if we would come back and have a second try but the answer was a clear no from the hole group....It will get a 3--

Small restaurant, very nice friendly and helpful staff. Good nicely cooked and presented Thai food. Quite good value for money.
Does get very busy Fri. Sat. So best to book. The almost exclusively British clientèle tends not to like very spicy food and they will assume you are the same, so if you like it hot, tell them.

Came here as a party of 8 on a very busy Saturday evening, we was welcomed in as if we was returning guests even though we've never eaten there, service was first rate, and the food was simply fantastic. I know I'll be back again for more.
