Superb in every way! Impeccable service, glorious public rooms, wonderful food, lovely comfortable room with stunning sea view, immaculate bathroom, brilliant friendly staff. Loved every minute. Well worth the extra for the amazing sea view on third floor. My parents have been visiting for 50 years and report that The Grand has been consistently brilliant all that time. Certainly top notch this time too. On previous visits I enjoyed seeing the live music and dancing at weekends. It's a spectacular place for tea, lunch, cocktails, dinner and a really luxurious relaxing stay. Good wifi, I could work in my room. Many beautiful comfortable places to sit and talk in the lounges and bar, and enjoy drinks and delicious snacks, with a wonderful calm atmosphere and efficient service. Thanks to the whole team, you were very kind to my elderly parents and made it a very special stay.

Only visited for hot drinks in the lounge. Very well looked after by staff. Comfortable seating surrounded by immaculate decor. Drinks presented in a top class manner, served with complimentary shortbread biscuits. A very enjoyable, if rather expensive, morning coffee stop.

We came for a spa day for my 16 y/o daughter’s birthday today. Very relaxing spa area and the food was prepared perfectly. We had a lovely afternoon and staff in the spa and restaurant really made an effort to ensure she had a great experience. I’m very grateful. Thank you

Hotel could do with some TLC,
Restaurant menu needs reviewing but neither impacted our stay.

The new Mirabelle restaurant is exquisite. The mille feuille is particularly inspired.

My three night stay at the Grand Hotel surpassed all expectations. Yes, the interiors are truly grand and the breakfasts delicious. But it's the staff that makes this hotel so wonderful. The way I was treated by each and every member of staff made me feel truly welcomed and special. If everyone treated each other in this way the world would be a very different place. Everyone was so genuine and the staff seemed to be truly enjoying their jobs. You can call room service for a jug of milk to be delivered to the room - as I love a cup of tea I did this several times. It arrived within moments.

I had a deluxe room which faced the town and I was very happy with the size and the standard of decoration. As I don't like feather pillows I asked for polyester ones. I have never slept as well in my life and as soon as I got home I ordered two of the same brand (Dacron Comforel)

One of the other benefits of this hotel (and there are many) is the location, right on the sea front. Within moments you are on the esplanade, with lovely walks in both directions. During the summer the open top bus stops outside the door, taking you to the beautiful countryside of the Beachy Head area.

I had the most fantastic break and cannot wait to return as soon as possible. Thank you so much to everyone for your hard work, making this the best hotel stay I have ever had.

We are regulars of the hotel and were not disappointed. The hotel has kindly upgraded us to a lovely sea view room on the top floor and everyone was great as usual. We had booked in advance a swimming slot and could enjoy the peace and quiet. Shame that the steam room is still closed at this time. Breakfast was nice but I think it’s about time to reverse back to the “classic” buffet as we felt a bit timid to have to order item by item of what we wanted rather than just helping ourselves. Other than that all good as usual!

Superb hotel enjoyed gym and swimming pool - tea with champagne on Sunday very good and a great breakfast the room with sea view was superb - the staff and excellent friendly and the bar staff in the evening went that extra mile well worth the extra to stay in such a well run and " Grand " Hotel - thank you . The room was superb high ceiling clean what you would expect .

Only thing was had to pay extra for a latte coffee with breakfast ! A small price to pay for such good service but is was £6.

Had a lovely time in this restful elegant hotel that provides smart traditional accommodation along with good meals and drinks efficiently served by staff that are mostly friendly even though a smile occasionally would help. One thing we always comment on when visiting is that in the main lounge at the front of the hotel the two ceiling light fittings are small and very unimpressive whereas a couple of chandeliers would be more appropriate in the massive space available.

We had a lovely 3-night stay at the Grand Hotel Eastbourne. The setting is beautiful (I have always been very fond of these grand hotels reminiscent of a time of luxurious travel - and the hotel has managed to preserve somehow the atmosphere), the location is great (we used the hotel as a base to go hiking towards Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters - no need to take the car) and the restaurants are fairly good (Mirabelle but also the main restaurant). The service is usually friendly and efficient - but can also be a tad inexperienced and slow at times. In addition to the outdoor swimming pool there is a small indoor one (also with a jacuzzi) but one needs to book a slot in advance (Covid measure). On the whole, a very good hotel but not necessarily on par with 5 star hotels in London (or elsewhere in Europe): charging extra for a cappuccino at breakfast is definitely not acceptable for an hotel of this standing. Also advertising an onsite parking is fine but they should warn guests that unless you have pre-booked your space you will have to park outside in the street: the hotel provides a parking permit (to be renewed every day) but it is still not very pleasant to go and search for a parking space upon arrival at 9/10pm. The hotel is popular for events and weddings as far as I can tell and we had the bad surprise on our last night to discover that our rooms were right on top of a wedding party with very loud music. Really disappointed that the hotel had not warned us in advance but after a few moments of hesitation they dealt with the issue elegantly (i.e. moved us to another room, the presidential suite which was probably the only room still available). Despite that last night issue and my earlier criticism, I would still warmly recommend the hotel and on the whole we had a lovely stay. Just be conscious that it is not 5 star standing in all aspects.

Visited The Grand Hotel Eastbourne the staff are amazing , polite, work very hard and very attentive.
The Spa pool area is very nice but I am sure a couple of chairs would be accepted around the pool, if not close together , the steam room and sauna not sure why these are not working ? Some relaxing music might be nice too ?
The changing rooms Are too small and very outdated although everything is very clean.
Again the staff in the spa/gym area are amazing.
The treatments were Very good although would not say the manicures /pedicures were value for money and would not return to have this treatment again.
It was a lovely visit but would have to improve the Pool area Slightly before I did.

This hotel could be 5-star, but at present the food, drink and check-in service lets it down. We experienced the slowest check-in we've ever had and were made to feel as if we were putting the woman on the desk out; she made an error processing our (payment) card and was beginning to get very frustrated. Not a very welcoming welcome.

In contrast, the service we received from the porters and the car-park attendants was superb. Ditto the housekeeping and pool staff. You do need to pre-book the car park.

The restaurant and lounge service was dire, with a couple of exceptions: a pregnant lady who seemed to be doing the work of all the others at breakfast and lunch, and a fair-haired lady with a European accent in the lounge, who was the only pro-active member of staff. The hospitality staff seem to comprise an overwhelmingly young crew who are inattentive to customers' needs. There seems to be a serious lack of training.

We ate out in Eastbourne on the second evening and the food and service was amazing in contrast to that of The Grand Hotel. We felt really looked-after, whereas at The Grand, the majority of restaurant staff made us feel as if we were putting them out. I really do question why some people go into customer-facing roles!

We were told when making our reservation that the sauna and steam room were closed due to the pandemic and that the hotel were following guidelines (their own guidelines presumably because all other health spas are open). A staff member at the poolside, however, told us that the sauna is in such a state that this is the actual reason it's closed. Some honesty around why facilities are not available would be appreciated.

Top tip: get the hotel to remove the service change they automatically add onto your bill for ALL food and drinks, and tip the staff who deserve it individually.

We have just returned from three nights in the Grand and cannot praise the staff enough for making our stay so special. We stayed in a suite overlooking the bay and had the good fortune of enjoying very special weather. Who would have believed we would be sitting out on the balcony at this time of the year. Our room was all that we hoped for and more and breakfasts were excellent. The Grand has a fascinating history and there is evidence throughout the building of its illustrious past and role in local history. The hotel is ideally situated for accessing local walks and attractions. Special thanks to Laura on reception who went the extra mile to help us when we had a special request. Memorable experience for us.

Stayed last night in a Executive king sea front room on the 3 rf floor 325 it was just beautiful and absolutely spotless throughout a beautiful big bathroom with Molton brown toiletries a lovely touch. Arriving at this grand hotel it seems to take you back in a beautiful way. We arrived and were greeted by the lovely concierge Chris. He was brilliant got us to reception while he took our bags. And he took us up to our room. A true Gent. While we in packed we could not believe the beautiful sea view it was stunning.

We decided to have lunch in the hotel so opted for the parlour near the bar. We had the club sandwich and the burger with fries and homemade coleslaw. The food was delicious and presented so well the coleslaw was superb. And so was the fabulous customer service from the girls.

We used the health spa which was booked through reception you get allocated the hour. Sadly the sauna and steam room was closed but that’s due to Covid and that’s understandable. We so enjoyed relaxing for the hour.

We had dinner out as arranged to meet our friends from battle.

Arriving back at the hotel we had coffee liqueurs in the lounge bar served by the wonderful Isabel. She was a true star . Her service was impeccable so a big thank you to you .

Had an amazing sleep the king bed was so comfortable so quiet. Had breakfast at 9.30 arrived at the garden restaurant by Alana . Our non greeting was not nice sadly we got asked surname and room number ?? Not Evan a good morning and then taken to our table to be told . Your table ?? I mean manners cost nothing we both thought. Our breakfast was fantastic hot plates beautifully presented with very hot plates and the flavours were just incredible. So a big thank you to the chefs for a superb lunch and breakfast.

It was a wonderful stay extremely comfortable and we will return again . A big shout out to house keeping for my allergy free pillows . The room was spotless like the rest of the hotel . And I attached a photo of the beautiful sea view from our king room

Stayed in October, with my dog,, had a beautiful ground floor suite with doors opening onto a small patio and the garden and swimming pool. Tried the plant base menu (not my usual taste) when a friend came to lunch. Trying to arrange my next year's trip to visit again. Chose to have a paid parking space which I would recommend doing.

Great location. Suite was a nice size. However, I do look forward to a good shower in a hotel. I would describe the shower as not much more than a dribble. The furnishings and carpet were tired. Not what I would expect for the price.

Had a behind the scenes tour of the hotel as part of a Customer Service lesson.
Operations behind the scene are made flawlessly with attention to detail and assurance the staff are keeping up with guest expectations. The hotel is well presented and flexible for customer requests and events.

This is a gorgeous historical hotel right on the beach front. It has two pools, indoor and outdoor. You can have a sunrise swim in the heated outdoor pool. The spa was absolutely fantastic, friendly and capable staff.

Beautiful I think victorian hotel, we had the cream tea which was amazing, originally thought it was expensive but after eating it it was delicious and filling well worth the money. The staff were exceptional will definitely be going again.
