We have been coming to the Grand for the last 20 years. Although many things have changed, we still feel that the traditional standards are largely maintained. For example, we love the ease of check-in, the concierges look after you and park your car, whisk your luggage to your room and will help you in any way they can. The housekeepers still offer a turndown service, room service is excellent, and breakfast is mostly cooked to order - with undyed haddock, kippers, kidneys and smoked salmon on the menu. The garden restaurant is excellent, if a little busy, we also love the Mirabelle, which has a superb wine list.

I stayed in The Grand Hotel for a week. I have never experienced such friendly and competent staff before, I fealt very comfortable.
The food was delicious and the drinks perfect.
The room was always clean and tidy, the bed was comfortable.
I cannot rate the spa, my wellness was walking along the seaside :-)
The only issue was the view of the room, I looked against a wall.

The Grand lives its traditional values in a very authentic way offering a valued experience different to many other hotels. The attention to detail and knowledge of staff is commendable. You will feel a valued client.

My friend and I decided we some much needed time to relaxed and rejuvenate so deceived to book a spa weekend at the Grand hotel Eastbourne. The hotel did not disappoint. The staff the perfect amount of friendly as we entered and checked in. Followed by beautiful music played in the tea room. Our room was lovely and very comfortable. I especially liked the variety of teas to choose from.
The spa was lovely and inviting and good to note that it’s fine to bring families into the area which was a lovely touch.
My highlight was the Sunday night entertainment. The hotel had a local band play the hits whilst we drunk tasty cocktails, I had an espresso martini.
I will definitely be coming back! Perfection.

As it is The Grand you do look for faults and the decor is tatty in places. Rooms are a good size. Breakfast was very good. Service very good and all staff very polite. Not a lot of evening meal options if you don’t want a fancy meal. You can’t order bar food and a lot of room service food apart from sandwiches after 6pm. Pool is small and not good to share. Pillows were awful and we had two twin beds put together so dipped in the middle. 3/5 for us due to lack of food options and bad night sleep from pillows and bed. Came away wanting something more modern.

Booked an executive, seaview room for a three night break. The concierge who met us on arrival was extremely efficient and our bags were transported to our room. Check-in was carried out quickly and we were shown to our room which was well appointed and had a great view over the bay. All the staff in the hotel were friendly and professional. The hotel itself is of a very good quality with reference to it's historic past well in evidence. The hotel has a wonderful spa with up to date facilities. All in all, a very nice and relaxing stay. I have covered the two restaurants in separate reviews.

A short break to celebrate our Golden Wedding at our favourite hotel. As usual everything was perfect and the staff were very curtious. The room was very clean and comfortable as was the rest of the hotel. We especially enjoyed the afternoon tea in its beautiful surroundings.

The Hotel is good, staff are very friendly, but the Hotel is falling behind the times with certain aspects, mainly the very, very poor Wi-Fi coverage and the Dog policy is rather unfriendly to say the least...
I think It just needs to realise that whist the over 70's may love the "old style" If they want to attract/keep a younger clientele they may need to move into the 21st Century !

Lovely experience during our stay, expensive very good standard of rooms if you are prepared to pay the high rates.
Restaurant not so good for variety of food but plenty of other restaurants within walking distance or better if you have a car and can venture further

The Grand is everything it says it is. VERY GRAND INDEED. Beauiful hotel and from the moment we arrived we were made welcome and this made us feel very relaxed. The Grand is family friendlly and is very inviting with no pomp and circumstance. Staff are very attentive and very accomdating which means we are already planning future dates for when we will stay again.

Amazing hotel, everything you expect from a 5 star hotel. Our room was a bit dated, needed a little more of a modern touch! Food was excellent but the drinks are very expensive especially the soft drinks. Had a great stay!

All the staff seemed to be aware of my Birthday and made it a weekend to remember.
The Gallery Layout, the pre-Dinner drinks in the Bar and the help with cutting my Birthday Cake I had taken down all help to make it a great experience.

From the moment of arrival to final departure the stay was the best encountered from many other hotel experiences we have had. The Hotel is immaculately maintained and the attention to service and courtesy of staff unrivaled. The facilities from the Restaurant to the Spa and the accommodation are excellent and certainly promote a quiet and restful stay especially taking into account the surrounding areas with Beachy Head nearby if one does want to wander out of the Hotel.
If ratings are out of 10 then on the basis of our experience it would be a 12+

I stayed at this fabulous hotel for one night only but left feeling like I’d had peeled grapes popped into my mouth at regular intervals and that world peace had been declared.

The staff are unimpeachable, the food is second to none and with over seventy cocktails to choose from including seasonal variations, what more could a man, or woman, want.

A huge thanks to all at the Grand Hotel and long may you continue to be the best of the best.

A 5* hotel: truly a gem on the south coast - other hotel staff should stay just to see how to run a good hotel. From the moment of arrival to departure you are catered for: Excellent staff / food / accommodation.

I have been coming to the Grand for 11 years. I love this hotel. I have recommended people to this hotel who also love the Grand.
Fantastic staff.
The whole experience is fantastic. I have always been made to feel very welcome.
I have stayed in so many hotels, but for me the Grand is the best.

A friend and I have just enjoyed an afternoon cream tea courtesy of my family as a special gift. It really was wonderful and I could get used to this way of life.
The waiting staff were excellent and nothing was too much trouble. We were welcomed on arrival and told where we needed to be. A gentleman took our coats and we made our way to the desk. A young lady showed us to a comfy settee where we were given the menu to choose which special tea we wanted with our cream tea.
The tea arrived shortly then our cake stand arrived with a lovely arrangement of sandwiches, pastries and the scones with jam and cream. We asked for another pot of tea as talking makes people thirsty and there was no trouble it came really quickly despite the fact that it was a very busy afternoon.
This has been a real treat and I know that the other guests seemed to be enjoying their afternoon too. The service and staff were excellent and a very enjoyable afternoon was spent at the "Grand Hotel". This grand old five star lady situated along Eastbournes beautiful seafront which still retains all the majesty of a byegone age.

Room 19: I wish the tap was not in the middle of the basin! I wish there were other rooms with a walk-in shower too.
The rolls at dinner have improved since Christmas!

The staff are always very good. Thank you

We took our daughter and two small grandchildren to see other family members. The hotel was very organised to deal with this. No fuss or bother, just a welcome pack for our 3 year old, a cot and blanket for the 9 month old, a family dining room away from the adult guests - all designed to make us feel welcome but unobtrusive. Excellent!

The Grand Hotel certainly lives up to its name. The staff are fantastic and your stay is their top priority. The buffet breakfast is amazing. The cream tea is worth it just to sit in such opulent surroundings. It all comes at a price... but so worth it!

usual effortless stay with the only meals this time being a very good breakfast. Attentive staff and good parking facilities. Bathrooms are very well presented but walk in showers would be welcomed generally.
