Recently opened the Two Bulls Steak House (in the former Tally Ho ) in Old Town Eastbourne. Returned to this Steak House today for the 3rd time, and once again was not disappointed. Where else could you get a very reasonably priced steak cooked to your preference at lunch time . Friendly staff, knowledgable of their produce. My next visit is booked to try Dinner.

Having spent all my working life in the Meat & Livestock Industry and I am fussy about my steaks. The Two Bulls is a recently opened restaurant at the old Tally Ho pub. The staff were welcoming and attentive. The style restaurant was "Pubish" with wooden tables, bare floor and a bar - informal and easy-going. The menu was inventive and interesting - the emphasis being on "Steak". However there were other options for diners who may not like steak!! The steaks that my wife and I had were superb, cooked as requested and were as tender as a Butchers heart! - mine blue, just how I like it. The steaks I understand come from Ireland, a well known good beef rearing area.
I recommend this restaurant, well worth a visit.

We were staying in Eastbourne for the weekend as part of a birthday celebration for my 90 year old mother. Not knowing Eastbourne we decided to eat here after reading reviews on tripadvisor - it certainly lived up to its very good reviews. There were nine in our party and all of us had a great meal. The steaks were cooked perfectly, very tender and tasted delicious. The desserts were equally tasty except for my choice of salted caramel ice cream which was so salty that I couldn't taste any caramel - I must admit that I regretted my choice and couldn't eat it but luckily I had a taste of everyone else's. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Just a small thing - we found the music was rather loud which made conversation difficult at times although they did turn it down when asked. I would definitely eat here again.

We visited the Two Bulls Steakhouse yesterday (22/09/13) for a family meal and was immediately impressed with how they'd converted quite a dark pub in to a bright and cosy environment. They've created a space that's rare in Eastbourne, you immediately get the impression that the owners know what they're doing.
I thought the staff were fantastic, probably what I was impressed with most. They were friendly and attentive, but not in a fake way that you sometimes see. I got the impression that they genuinely cared.
All six adults enjoyed their food. I had the salmon which was perfectly cooked and served with lovely chunky chips. Others had the steaks and thought they tasted amazing.
My only recommendation is that they consider introducing a limited children's menu. We had 3 kids in our party, but as there wasn't a children's menu they just had a bowl of chips (which they enjoyed).

Service superb, food delicious, wine enjoyable and all at a very reasonable price. From the moment we walked in and shown to our tables the service was very attentive. The knowledge of the steaks and how best cooked was very impressive and helped making our decisions easier. Portion sizes generous, no room for desserts that looked excellent. Will definitely go back to sample other steaks !!

Went as the guest of some great friends to round off an awesome birthday weekend and will definitely be going back again!
With a wonderful and unfussy menu The Two Bulls turn simplicity into the sublime. Without the unnecessary pretensions (that some people crave) everything about this little gem is centred around great ingredients and a team who really do deliver!
Arguably the best steak I have eaten since I care to remember; The Two Bulls produce wonderfully seasoned and well aged steaks and an experience that has definitely taken eating out in Eastbourne a quantum leap forwards!I just hope that with such wonderful reviews that the Two Bulls doesn't attract too many Trip Advisor snipers who feel its their 'civic duty' to find fault whenever a genuinely great restaurant arrives in a sea of bland and uninspired eateries.

We came for Sunday dinner with great expectations after we've read all the reviews. Had the t-bone and the chateaubriand fillet. They were ok but we were not overwhelmed, bit chewy. The sauces were nice, dessert was nice. Very friendly staff, good service. Wouldn't go back thought.

Heard so much about this new place - tried it last night. What a find! Friendly, genuinely caring staff, serving the most perfectly cooked, tender and flavoursome steaks we've ever eaten. Simple accompaniments, which is probably just as well, and stonking puds - my husband's cheesecake nearly defeated him but he said it was far too good to leave any! My sea salt and caramel ice cream was nothing like I've ever tasted and utterly delicious. Many of the other diners seemed to be regulars already - not surprising. Superb on all levels.

Been to the Two Bulls on 3 occasions with family & friends and it really is outstanding. Eight of us eat there Sunday evening and the owner and staff couldn't do enough for us. Everything was just superb. They've only been open 3 weeks. Hope they can keep the standards set since opening. Recommended.

The interior is lovely, nice feeling, very bright. New staff who were all finding their feet, give it another month and they'll have it down to a t! All seemed friendly and attentive.
I went for the steak satay (As I'm not a huge steak eater) and ended with far more steak than my family who'd ordered steaks alone. It was delicious, although I did order well done and it was fairly pink.
Chips and salad were lovely and the coleslaw was a tasty addition!
Tad expensive. But good first experience.

Probably... We came here for the first time a few days ago as I love a good steak. The selection was great but I would have liked to have a few more 'size' options for the steaks on offer. However, having said that, I had a moderate sized rib eye, 45 days matured and it was absolutely fabulous - perfectly cooked, what more can I say.
A few minor niggles, the lights could have been a bit dimmer for better atmosphere, the chips were a tad too thick for my liking (choice would have been nice), markup on the wine was a bit too high for the type of restaurant, and I felt that, although excellent, the steaks were slightly overpriced.
I also know that some of my niggles are down to personal taste but I like to be entirely honest when I write a review, and balance positive with negative.
Service was excellent, helpful, friendly and professional.
Overall, this place is great, and I reckon serves the best steak you can buy in Eastbourne and probably further afield. I love a good steak, therefore I will be coming back!

If you want an unlimited salad bar, go to a Harvester. If you serious about steak, and I mean serious about steak, go to Two Bulls. Had the best T-bone ever.

I always debate eating in steak houses and for good reason, often the steak is tasteless, tough or rubbery ...but not here.... the service was fantastic, the beer was cold and the steaks were tender and succulent ... There were 4 of us all with differing orders and all the steaks were cooked to perfection... The price for a fantastic meal inc coffee, drinks, etc etc was just over £100 and worth every penny...
All I can say is congratulations in making what was 'just' meant to be lunch into a special meal.. Our thanks go to the lovely serving staff and the chef... keep up the good work and we plan to see you all again soon..

But not on this occasion. Great atmosphere and smiling helpful staff, always a good start. Cast aside any doubts you have about trying new restaurants. The food is brilliant, we live in eastbourne and have tried every restaurant over the last twelve years, and the top three in order are The Two Bulls Steakhouse, Exquis, the new thai in the enterprise centre, and cafe parisienne. At last some knowledgeable people with charm and ability. Eastbourne is at last getting some quality places to eat. We are going back on thursday and have changed a meeting to coincide with their opening days just to have an excuse to go back. Please Please keep it up, we will let you know if you dont.

We decided to try this restaurant after driving past it the other day and realising the old tally ho had re-opened and looked lovely.
Being slightly out of town we decided this would be good as airbourne was on and everything else in town was manic. We arrived for the lunch menu which was absolutely lovely. I had the half pound cheeseburger and my friend had the sirloin steak (both 8 pounds). Both meals were delicious and we left very full. The restaurant has been opened up and is very light and airy which is very inviting. Will defiantely be going back for some of their gorgeous looking steaks. Thanks

We have just returned from a Sunday lunch for three, and I must say how very much we enjoyed it. We all opted for the set lunch and it was such a nice surprise to find that the 8.00 pounds per head menu is included on a Sunday as restaurants often charge more to eat out for Sunday lunch. We opted for the 13.00 pounds steak and it was absolutely excellent. Cooked to perfection for each of us to our own personal preference, with a wonderful sauce included in the price, along with a fresh salad, beautifully dressed, and the most fabulous chunky crispy chips.
From the moment we entered we were treated as though we were highly valued guests despite this being our first visit, and the staff somehow managed to be wonderfully accommodating whilst at the same time being unobtrusive. The array of condiments brought to our table in an individual box was presented so beautifully, and everything was of the highest quality.
We plan to go again one evening next week to try one of the specially hung steaks and can't wait to return. Truly thought it was fabulous and would highly recommend this restaurant. Please go and try it as this family definitely know how to treat their guests, and most certainly deserve our support in this new venture.
Thank you so much!!!

Me and my mother went for an early Saturday evening meal. Really fancied decent beef and that's exactly what we got. Simple food, fantastic quality meat and small but perfectly formed wine menu. Recommend a glass of procescco to start. The Herefordshire sirloin was a delight. The new owners have really made the best of the space and the building. Will definately be visiting again.
