I was on a trip to see my sister in Eastbourne and we decided to come here for dinner. There were three of us including her fiancé. We didn't have starters and they both ordered T-bone steaks, one med rare and one medium. I had steak satay. I know it's a steak house but it's a shame they don't serve rice with the satay as the chips weren't really right with it. First the good bit, my satay steaks were delicious. The peanut sauce was one of the best I've tasted. However, their steaks were hugely disappointing. My sisters medium was very well done. It was edible but not what she had asked for. Her fiancé's was just medium at best. The restaurant staff were pretty good, they took her steak off the bill, gave us liqueurs but didn't take his steak off as the girl said most of it was medium (it had been asked medium rare). They also offered to cook my sister a bit of fillet but it was 930pm by then and she was starving. The point is this shouldn't have happened at all. It is not an extensive menu and certainly the steaks -their selling point- should have been perfect. As there are now a number of pretty good restaurants in and around Eastbourne, I don't think we will be back. A shame.

Three courses plus a bottle of wine £50 per couple. Absolutely brilliant. Lovely steak, perfectly cooked and a great relaxed atmosphere, unhurried and friendly. Will be back very soon!

The Two Bulls really delivers on taste if you like steaks, they explain all the different cuts and choices and recommend to suit your particular requirements. Side orders were good but not much else to choose if you are not a Steak eater. The environment is interesting with the lovely stained glass windows and the staff very friendly and helpful. Overall a good atmosphere, busy even mid week and definitely recommended for meat eaters.

This is the fourth time I've visited the restaurant and again I wasn't disappointed. The food is unbelievably gorgeous and the rest of the dining experience is excellent too. Staff always make you feel welcome and the service is second to non. Great value for money, especially the 'specials' menu on Thursdays and Sundays and even though you may not have room you must have a dessert, they're to die for! Can't wait to go again, my favourite restaurant by a long way. Thanks Two Bulls.

Words cannot describe just how good the food is. If you come to Eastbourne you have to visit here. Three steaks cooked to perfection and all agreed the best we have ever had. Lyall, Mick, Pete Huddersfield Unite the union.

Went for lunch today, & it was (if possible) even better than the last time we went. Two fillet steaks, & a point end steak, creamy coleslaw, perfect mushrooms, & a complimentary extra bowl of chips. Then for the greedy one, Eaton Mess, huge portion, def made for 2. Staff were lovely. Going back again very very soon. Best Steak in Eastbourne.

First visit. Very pleasant staff with knowledge of the menu. Choice of steaks, restaurant speciality. I had sirloin which was well flavoured cooked as ordered but a little chewy. Not quite up to expectations having read numerous Trip Advisor reports.
Selection of sauces to accompany steak and side dishes somewhat different and very pleasant.Would recommend and would visit again with the hope I get a slightly better cut than on this visit.
The sea salt and caramel ice cream was to die for. House red also quite acceptable.

Took my boyfriend here for a birthday meal after being told by a friend it was the best place for steak they have ever been. I'm not normally a steak person as I like it well done which usually means the flavour can be lacking (my fault I know) in some restaurants. However, after the first bite of steak, both my partner and I were already trying to think of excuses to come back. It was the most delicious steak I have ever tasted!!! Ever!!!
The garlic butter sauce I had with the steak was very strong but still delicious and plentiful. I also liked how they put it on the side so I could control how much goes on my dinner.
The chips were simple, home made chips but delicious. Could have possibly done with a few more but purely because I enjoyed them so much that I wanted more.
The staff were lovely and friendly and the service was quick. Thank you so much for a lovely evening.

We decided to visit Two Bulls in Eastbourne for my Birthday. It had mixed reviews so we wanted to make our own. We were asked whose birthday it was upon arrival so I expected some sort of dodgy song or flashing candle, but fortunately there was nothing to celebrate. That's my humbug, but it's odd they should ask if there's nothing to follow up on.
Overall the experience was okay, it's not fine dining but the prices might reflect it. There was a limited choice of wine, only one bottle of what we wanted.
Starters were the smoked mackerel pate and prawn cocktails, all excellent and well presented. For mains my wife wanted the point end and asked for medium rare, to be told that the chef will not cook it more than rare, due the style of cut. Understood but we would have preferred a recommendation rather than a refusal, it put us off and we ordered the fillet, sirloin and rib eye instead.
With such perfection in the kitchen we had high expectations but were disappointed when two of the three steaks were cooked incorrectly. My rib eye and the fillet were both overcooked, my replaced rib eye was then under cooked and the fillet was not replaced but was removed from the bill.
Having said that the remaining items, creamed spinach, mushrooms, Stilton sauce, garlic butter, chips and side salad were all good. The Gaelic coffee to finish was made with squirty canned cream, bit of a cheat really as it's not hard to make it properly.
So overall it was okay, wont rush back if at all. The service was great and cant be faulted. Nice layout and open kitchen. Not as bad as some make out, but not brilliant either, especially for £140 for three people.

I visited my sister in Eastbourne last week and we had lunch at the Two Bulls Steakhouse. The decor and layout is really attractive and the booths are exceptionally comfortable. We were joined by a friend and we all had the lunchtime specials which at £8 each were very reasonable. My steak was cooked just as I liked it and came with plenty of salad and just the right amount of chips. The staff were all really friendly with a perfect level of service . Overall a very enjoyable experience, I will definitely return next time I am in Eastbourne.

Situated in the old town, about 3 miles out of Eastbourne centre. We walked from our stay on the seafront, so had a good appetite when we got there. Melt in the mouth steak. Hubby had the steak satay kebabs and is still raving about them. Friendly staff. Highly recommended and well worth a visit.

We've just had lunch at this restaurant. The staff were friendly and attentive. The food was really lovely and cooked just right. Although we were pretty full up we managed to squeeze in a dessert too. We can highly recommend the Banoffi pie and Tiramisu

First time at Two Bulls but certainly not the last. We were encouraged by the earlier reviews and boy did the experience live up to them. The choice of steaks is good, the cooking perfect and the end product divine. Don't believe you will find better anywhere around here and the meat is, in my view, up with the best, sky high priced, steak houses in America (see my review of Charlie Palmer in Washington as a good comparison).
Service is a delight too.

Our 3rd evening at the Two Bulls was as a part of a party for 6, last Friday evening. Service, was as always, friendly and efficient. The steaks were better than ever and all six of us said it was one of the best meals out in ages. We had also enjoyed the special offer they do Thursday and Sundays evenings, fab value - 3 courses and a decent bottle of wine for £50!
We will definitely be back, their standards are high and that's what we appreciate!

I've been to the Two Bulls on 5 occasions now and each time the whole experience has been superb. When you taste your steak at The Two Bulls it makes you realise how mediocre most of the stakes you've ever been eaten before, are. Apart from the superb food the attention to detail throughout the restaurant is excellent, from the stylish & sharp cutlery to the box of many condiments placed on the table when your main course arrives. The staff are both personable and very friendly and always ready to advise on your choice from the many steaks on the menu, and how they should be best cooked. They have a short but carefully chosen wine list, and a mouth watering choice of superb and sometimes unique desserts. I have some personal experience of the food & restaurant industry as I have 2 sons both of whom are chefs and I spent many years as a specialist food photographer myself, so I feel qualified to make an objective judgement........and as I stated in my headline ' if I owned this restaurant, I'd be proud to have my name on the sign outside. I recommend if you try out The Two Bulls in Eastbourne you'll not be disappointed.

We visited on Friday 27th Feb, having looked at the reviews on Tripadvisor. We booked on the Tuesday and would advise booking ahead as it gets busy.
We shared a Spanish Ham & Manchego platter as a starter, followed by a small fillet steak (6oz) for my wife and the Porterhouse steak (18oz) for me. Initially my wife and I discussed her having the point end steak which was £2 more and 1oz heavier, but after discussion with the waitress, she advised that the point end becomes a bit chewy the more cooked it becomes. My wife likes her steak medium well done so opted for the fillet. It was cooked to perfection. I had my Porterhouse cooked medium rare and it was great as well, pink with a little blood becoming more medium the nearer to the bone I got. The steaks were accompanied by homemade chips the size of fish fingers and a salad. Also, the sauces box was filled with both Dijon and Ancient French mustard, as well as other strange and wonderful sauces which you don't see everyday.
We washed the steaks down with a very nice French Red (Malbec from Cahors) which at £18 a bottle is great value.
A good find, thanks to everyone who voted! And the best restaurant in Eastbourne (as Number 1 is a Cafe)!
Will be back,
Jason & Michelle

Went here a couple of weeks ago for a Valentines meal with my other half having seen all the positive reviews and we were not let down. I have lived in Eastbourne for years and never visited the old steak house and didn't consider going to this one until is saw how positive the response was. We opted not to get starters and we both had steak for main, I had the 45 day aged rib-eye and my partner had the porterhouse steak. Both steaks were cooked to absolute perfection and it was quite possibly the best steak I've ever had. I had a little bit of the porterhouse and that too was delicious. The chips it came with were amazing and the salad was fresh, generous and perfectly dressed. We also had a side of spinach which was heavenly. We shared a pudding as we were quite full which was the banoffee pie which was sublime, the peanuts were a fantastic addition. If you haven't tried the Two Bulls you're missing out. The staff we're friendly, attentive and so helpful. I have one tiny gripe and that is that we asked for water with our wine which never arrived and we had to get up and go get it from the bar as we couldn't catch any waiters eye. Otherwise, perfect evening!

Have visited twice now..so far! Once for dinner and once for lunch.
On our first visit we opted for the set £50 menu and was not disappointed. Soda bread with olive oil and balsamic presented nicely on a board with juicy plump olives. The steak was perfect and cooked just as we had requested, followed by the salted caramel ice cream (which we only just had room for). The second visit was for lunch. My husband opted for the cajun chicken and I has the steak satay. Both were to die for. Such excellent flavours and cooked to perfection. To top it all off the mains were only £8 each. Superb value for money for such quality food. The staff were attentive and friendly without being too much. We will certainly be back very soon, infact we have two occasions booked for the next coming month!!!

We tried this restaurant for the first time recently and we will definitely be back. The service was excellent, the staff being extremely helpful and accommodating as we were slightly late. The steaks were delicious and cooked to perfection. The spinach is also worthy of a mention.

I have eaten here three times now, twice for dinner, and once for lunch, and each time it was consistently excellent. My most recent visit, with friends, we were served by Delphine, who was so lovely. Each time I have had steak it was cooked exactly as I'd asked, rare. (Some restaurants seem to see this as a challenge).
I have been offered more chips and/or more salad, great. The banoffee pie is to die for! YUM!I live within a 10 minute walk of this place, and so when it opened I was really hoping it was good, but it is truly great. The wine you can get as part of the £50 deal is lovely too. Great portion sizes, not ridiculous, but to stingy either.
I'm already booking my next visit! Thank you two bulls, see you soon!
