This was our second 5-night Christmas break at this hotel, splendidly organised through Island Getaways. Flights from Gatwick and car hire were included in a well-priced deal. This is one of the finest hotels on the island with very comfortable rooms and a high standard of service. Although the leisure centre and pool are currently under reconstruction we were provided with passes for a nearby hotel which we used every day. We were on a half-board basis plus Christmas lunch and the food was simply outstanding. We fully intend to return next year and thoroughly recommend the hotel.

Lovely christmas lunch and bottle of wine. Bill 170.00, fine as Christmas day plus a tip for the excellent service. Finished at 2.45 just in time for queens speech, purchased bottle of beer. Quiz started and then went to purchase another drink at around 3.45 and refused drink as not residents. I understand the license rules but we were paying guests and not walkins from the street. We were there for the day as on only the 2 of us at home. We have had Christmas lunch many times out on the island have have never been treated like this. Will never give them my money again.

The hotel is excellent in every way. The rooms are a good size and spotlessly clean. The tea a coffee is replenished regularly and all the staff are charming and helpful. The food was good quality and varied. You could not ask for more.
The only downside to the weekend was the weather so all ferries were stopped and it was blowing a gale most of the time we were there and there was a very noisy wedding group staying (not the hotel's fault).
We really enjoyed our stay there and if we returned to Guernsey again we would definitely stay at this hotel.

This is the second time I've stayed at this hotel on business. The hotel is great as its comfortable, clean and the staff are very friendly. The breakfast is self serve with a good range of options. If I had to pick fault I would say the egg & bacon were not the best quality but otherwise very nice. You always feel the staff can't do enough to help and make your stay pleasant.

Stayed here in June having decided to travel by ferry and take the car. We booked through Channel Islands direct, everything was brilliant as we have used them before. The hotel was very friendly and food was very good, breakfast so much to choose from. We chose to eat in the bar most nights, the dinner menu was lovely and staff very helpful. We were given an upgraded room which was spacious and clean. If staying in Guernsey again would certainly stay here.

First visit to the island and we certainly chose a perfect hotel to go to. Everyone very helpful and accommodating. Breakfast was first class and meal service in the bar in the evening ideal. Well worth the money.

Great service, great rooms and brilliant breakfast. The rooms are very spacious with opening patio doors in most so you can get lots of fresh air. Comfortable beds and a desk for working if required. A nice friendly, relaxed atmosphere.
The food served at breakfast is very good quality with a great choice. The dining room is spacious and relaxing.

We have been here quite a few times and it's still as good as the first time. Great staff, brilliant service, spotless rooms and the most comfy bed we've slept in. I would highly recommend anyone who asked about it. If you hire a car (at your peril lol) the roads are very narrow and personally I would have a heart attack how the locals speed around the sharp corners and mount pavements to get by oncoming traffic. So to let you know the bus stop is just up the road at the exit of waitrose. Safer 😛 Going for a nice treatment tomorrow too at the hotel, lovely. At the moment the pools out of service as it being refurbed.

It is a comfortable hotel with good facilities and in a good location on the outskirts of St Peter Port making it easy to walk into town. They quite often have deals on so it can be the same price as a lower class hotel.

I often travel to Guernsey for business and often stay here. The hotel is never a let down, always friendly staff be it in the cold quiet winter months or when they are busy in the summer season the staff always have time and a smile.

This is the second time I have stayed here this year, its the most central point for my business but i usually would stay elsewhere! first time I had a standard room overlooking the front entrance. Not sure if the person staying in the next room was an employee of just a guest but due to playing loud music and smoking on the balcony after midnight I had to move rooms. Second stay I opted for the more expensive rooms with a view, much better, no horrible neighbours but the room was pretty cold, radiators were off and no A/C.
due to business I didn't eat at the hotel, but had a few drinks in the bar which was pleasant enough.
Gym seemed ok to use as was the pool.
overall a reasonable stay in Guernsey

All the rooms were of similar size some overlooking the front drive, others the tennis court and at the back of the hotel they overlooked the lake which was the nicest view.Lovely sized swimming pool there was a spa area and also opportunity if you book beforehand (it was full) to have some beauty treatments. There is a large restaurant for breakfast and another for lunch and a further restaurant for evening meal. The golf course was nine hole which could be played twice with different tee offs, this area will be undergoing a redevelopment in the future.

Just 2 nights this visit
My client uses this hotel to look after all his corporate guests and employees. The breakfast buffet is first class and the restaurants and bar food first class.
The staff are all very helpful from the cleaners to front of house. It is set in nice grounds with a lake and is about 20 minute walk from St. Peter port however there is a free shuttle bus from the hotel or there is a bus stop just across the road. I am told the leisure club is due for a refit March 2016 and will be out of action for possible a couple of months perhaps February and March.
I will be back and stay here 2 times a year. The rooms are comfortable what more can I say. I will be back.

We had a three night stay with a group of friends. We received fantastic service throughout our stay. A great welcome when we arrived, very good service at the bar and we did keep them busy.
Food was very good we had a private dining room on the Saturday night.
The only negative is the walls in the rooms are very thin & you can hear every conversation in the next room..
Would defiantly return.

A lovely hotel with great facilities, excellent helpful and friendly staff. Super helpful with dietary restrictions as having to follow a gluten free diet. My mother who is 85 loves the pool and my sisters I have enjoyed the gym and sauna and steam room. The food at the Pavilion was really good although the service was a little muddled. The grounds are lovely and our room has a lovely balcony. I would highly recommend this hotel. They go the extra mile even lending a wheelchair for our mother

We missed our ferry back to the UK on Thursday so had to stay overnight. Condor Ferries booked us a room at this beautiful hotel. On arrival we were greeted by nice friendly helpful staff and our check inn was quick.

The room we were given was spotlessly clean nice bright and welcoming. The ground of the hotel are beautiful and well kept. We had a meal in the bar which was nice fresh and excellent value.

The breakfast has to be the best I've had, everything was hot and fresh and such a good selection of fruit cold meats cheese bread a juice bar as well as the traditional English. The staff were excellent ensuring everything was cleared away immediately.

This has to be one of the best hotels I've stayed in.

Stayed here for four nights and enjoyed our stay, the location is ideal on the island and is set in lovely grounds. The rooms were cleaned to an excellent standard although a little decor a little tired eg loose wall lights and carpets that could have down with replacing, all staff that we met were all very friendly, polite and helpful. The terrace bar area seating was grubby/tired and needs to cleaned or recovered we also ate in here twice and found the tables to low for the seating which made it uncomfortable to eat a meal without your stomach feeling cramped up, the food was very good though. Breakfast had a good choice although on one morning was cold from the hot buffet. We ate in the Victor Hugo restaurant too and found it a costly experience although the food was good and lacked some flavor and there was not a lot of it. We are not big eaters and normally only have 2 courses but had to order dessert which again a very small portion and still did not feel that satisfied, the restaurant dining area was very nice though. Overall a nice hotel but could be improved

The positives of this hotel are the grounds and the spa which are truly delightful. The location is fine, being a comfortable walk into town and well placed for buses around the Island. Less pleasing aspects relate to sleep quality and a health and safety issue. The first room allocated was 328 which appeared to be ideal. It was clean, bright, fairly spacious and had beautiful views of the lake. The downside was what initially seemed to be a rather noisy extractor fan linked to the bathroom but ignored as they usually only run for a few minutes. Only later on returning to the room did it become obvious that the engine noise was still running and appeared to be even louder. It was not from the bathroom but from a room next door. The reception staff were notified and explained that it was the exractor from the bar downstairs and would switch off at midnight., it did not and actually continued ALL night. As the headboard was attached to the adjoining wall, the noise and the vibration resulted in no sleep at all. Early next morning I spoke to the duty manager who said she would try to find another 'quieter' room. We repackaged all are belongings, went out for the morning and returned to find our cases in a top floor room overlooking the gardens. Pleasant enough but certainly tired and in need of a deep clean. Spent the whole afternoon catching up on lost sleep and not exploring the Island as planned. When getting ready for the evening meal I sat at the desk to put makeup on and the chair collapsed. As a rather petite 5'2" lady this was, to say the least, a rather unique shock. On further inspection it was found that the chair had been glued together on a previous occasion and should really have been condemned. Someone older or larger than myself could have incurred quite a serious injury rather than jus a shock. Again reception were informed and they said maintaince would be advised and a replacement chair would be provided. When checking out two days later this had still not happened.

We booked a standard double room with front view. It offered everything we needed. The room was serviced every day and kept spotless. We were delighted to be greeted by a bottle of champagne in an ice bucket by the evening of our first day - due to admitting that my husband would be celebrating his birthday while we were there. This was in answer to the reception staff asking us if our stay was for some special reason. What a thoughtful touch! We booked bed and breakfast and enjoyed a full range of hot and cold foods for breakfast as well as being able to ask for dishes to be cooked specially for us. The porridge I ordered was perfect. During our stay we had an evening meal in the brasserie. The service was efficient and the selection and quality from the menu was very good. We greatly enjoyed the indoor heated swimming pool and spa facilities - no extra charge for using these. The jacuzzi was for mixed bathing and the sauna and steam rooms were located in each of the male/female changing rooms. Towels and bath robes were provided free for each user. I understand that the spa and pool will be refurbished in the near future. (Autumn 2015) I had noticed that the interior of the steam room was in need of attention - fine cracks in the ceiling and walls. The grounds are south facing with a lake and resident ducks. There are many places to sit and enjoy the view. A golf club is within the grounds. It is a place we'd certainly visit again. The hotel deserves the 4 star rating.

We stayed here for a couple of nights when we was delayed due to ferry cancellations.
We eat in the terrace bar on both nights, and the service and food was good. All staff was friendly and helpful.
It is a little bit out of town centre, but it's on a frequent bus route, and buses are cheap and easy to use on the island. (We didn't want to take the car).
We would stay again.

We have stayed in this hotel twice previously,it is nice to see that the standards are as high as ever, wherever the staff are trained they are doing a excellent job, that is right from the sweepers up outside to the GM,they are all friendly, and always go the extra mile if needed, the rooms are a good size, very clean, with a good selection of teas and coffee, and real coffee as well.the leisure centre is very nice, good size pool, lovely towels provided, the lake is nice to walk around as is the golf course,it is a short journey into the port itself, busses only 2 min from the hotel door.
We enjoy the great breakfast,it is buffet type, plenty of choice, good hot selection which is replenished regularly, thank you GM and staff for once again making our 9 nights stay so comfortable and enjoyable.

This is a wonderful place to stay, the reception staff were the most friendly I've ever met and the couldn't do enough for you to make your stay perfect, the room had a great view and a small balcony the tea and coffe facilities were not just your spare selection of packets they had real coffee. The bed was very comfortable and very quiet.
The bar was quite expensive but my company paid for that so i had no complaints

This is our second visit to this hotel and it didn't disappoint. The service by all staff is excellent. The breakfast is amazing with fantastic choice of fruit, cereal, cooked and continental breakfasts. Pancakes with maple syrup were lovely. The rooms were of the same excellent standard, with the welcome addition of a small fridge in the room. Although it is an approx 1 and a quarter mile walk to St Peter Port, it's well worth it.
The pool complex is great but very underused. I swam everyday for 4 days, and most times I had the pool to myself. Hopefully will return in the near future.

Decent standard hotel with a good range of facilities which always helps when the weather isn't great. It's in a good location between St Peter Port and the airport. The swimming pool is perfect for families and those who want to get some lengths in. The staff are friendly, attentive and well informed about the area.
