Lucky to get into Guernsey that day due to weather but got a taxi to the Hotel and was pleasantly surprised by the taxi driver who gave an insight in to the history on the 2nd World War German Occupation, very interesting.
Arrived at the D-O-R and was greeted by a very pleasant Receptionist who made us feel welcome and to our delight our room was ready, and a very nice room it was overlooking the sea.
Our stay was very enjoyable and the food at the hotel was very good especially the breakfasts, good choice and nothing extra for haddock or smoked salmon, which is unusual but very nice. the dinner offered A La Carte or the well renown 'Tennerfest' which was still running. I must say though the food offered did vary from night to night or possible chef to chef but for the price it was good.
The staff attending to our needs both morning and night were exceptional and can not be praised enough for their manners, awareness and conversational skills as being from many different places in the world.
There were only 3 negatives, the alarm in the room was set off twice due to steam from bathrooms, also the information leaflet stated 'dental kit' was available, my partner forgot her toothbrush but alas they did not have one!
A problem did occur with he television service which was sorted out over night and back up and running by the morning, just a little inconvenient in having it checked out.
Overall a lovely place and we would go back and can recommend this hotel to others.

I have always received good service at the Duke of Richmond Hotel. It feels like quality as soon as you step into the checkered floored reception. The Leopard bar is very luxurious and welcoming. Afternoon tea is also to die for. Hope to go to more of their themed evenings including jazz in the future.

I was working at the Duke of Richmond Hotel for a private party. The staff could not be more helpful, Aaron Mahy for arranging coffee and for us to have a small room we could use to keep our own things in. Aaron was on the ball with guests of the party he is a polite guy. Lukas for arranging food for us. The Hotel is clean and fresh. And.... they have mint humbugs in a jar for you to help yourself. Well done team at DOR keep it up.

My wife and I booked this hotel for a short break in Guernsey. We were lucky to get one of the hotel's four or five parking slots and were made to feel very welcome when we checked in. Throughout our stay all the staff were always friendly and helpful.

We had booked a room with a sea view and a queen sized bed. This was comfortable enough although it was smaller than we had envisaged and we felt a bit cramped and we could have done with more drawers. However, it was well equipped and the provision of a bath rather than a shower was welcome. The sea view was limited as the hotel is in fact some way set back from the actual shore line and we were only on the first floor.

Breakfasts were quite excellent and we also enjoyed the food at the one dinner we had in the hotel.

What a wonderful find the Duke of Richmond Hotel is. The hotel is just gorgeous and the standard of our king size twin room was excellent. The furnishings in rooms and hotel were modern, eclectic and tasteful. The staff were a joy to be around and nothing was too much trouble, at all times they were helpful and informative and if it was something they could not answer then they would certainly find somebody that could. The food was delicious and the portions were generous to say the least. We visited when the Tennerfest was on and found this to be fantastic value for money.
The hotel is next door to the very pretty Candie Gardens, and the only issue was it was up a long hill to get back from town !!!! My answer to that is jump in a cab and do not be put off by that ( taxi was only a few pounds)
Thank you for a very indulgent stay and i will be back.

Went on a three nights for two break, coinciding with Guernsey's Tennerfest, when many restaurants offer bargain meals. So we had good value, but even so would go again without these benefits. We were particularly impressed with the hotel's staff, invariably friendly & helpful. The restaurant & bar have a great lively atmosphere.

I stayed here with my husband on the 4 nights for the price of 3 offer. We had a room overlooking the park, rather than the pricier sea view rooms and were pleased that we got a quiet room with a good view. Our room was a good size and the shower was powerful, which is very important to us as we hate weak showers. We even had a handwritten card from Jo on reception welcoming us.
The staff were very friendly and helpful at all times, with nothing too much trouble. A special thanks to Jo and Aaron on reception, Paul in the bar and Olga in the restaurant.
Breakfasts were freshly made to order and high quality. Very pleasant conservatory restaurant or the cosier Leopard bar for all meals. A good sign was that it was always busy with locals as well as tourists. This was ourfirst trip to Guernsey, but it won't be our last. We plan to return in the spring when the wildlife is at its best and we can go on all the walks we hadn't time for the first time around.

This superb hotel was a break for us in October 2017 The interior Design was beautiful both in the public rooms and bedrooms! Walls fabric covered with unusual pictures furniture lighting and furnishings. The food was wonderful and during October there was a October fest that all the restaurants and hotels offered meals for £10 The breakfast at the Hotel was very well arranged and the food was stunning, we also had a evening meal there and a lunch that were both up to a very high standard. We had a little problem with our room and we were changed straight away just mentioning the problem. The hotel is high up on a hill so the views were stunning with lots of bars and restaurants close by.I recomemd this hotel highly! .

My friend and I recently spent two nights at The Duke of Richmond Hotel in Guernsey and we would like to thank everyone for making our first visit to Guernsey and our stay at the hotel a most memorable and amazing experience. We were given first class service from the moment we walked through the door and the staff there could not do enough for us. We'd like to give special mention to Aaron as from check-in to departure he made sure everything was perfect and always went the extra mile to ensure we had everything we needed (the ice bucket and glasses very nearly arrived in the room before we did). We have no doubt that if he continues in the industry he will be a very high achiever and is certainly an asset to the Group, Jo was brilliant too, he came to the bar personally to give us our keys and gave us an early check-in, ensuring our cases were already in the room. A complimentary drink was a much appreciated unexpected touch! A big thanks to Paul in the bar for making us delicious drinks and giving us great service during our stay. Fiachra always welcomed us with a smile and a genuine interest in our plans for the day. Breakfast was cooked individually for us and the service given by all of the restaurant staff was perfect. The room was outstanding, spacious, spotlessly clean and beautifully décorated. Indeed the décor throughout the hotel was stylish and with very good taste. We had a lovely hand written note in the room accompanied by wine and chocolates (thank you Elise for arranging this and its a shame we actually didn't manage to meet you). We were blown away by everything and really felt like we were part of the RCH family and haven't stopped enthusing about the hotel to friends and family. We are already planning a return to the Island and hotel very soon. Sandra and Diane.

Very professional staff who made us so welcome from arriving to leaving. This Hotel exceeded our expectations in so many ways from the efficient , friendly staff from Reception, Bar , Food Service , and Housekeeping who all made our experience outstanding. We booked our 1st night in the restaurant due to our late arrival and due to the service and quality of the food decided to cancel our pre-booked 3rd nights restaurant in town as we were able to acquire an early reservation in the restaurant, and yet again we were not disappointed. If I had to single out any-one it would be the maitre d'hotel who obviously take great pride in her staff and ensuring the customers enjoy themselves.

This is a truly top quality hotel. The interior design is striking. There is an abundance of well-trained, friendly & efficient staff in all departments. The breakfast is very good indeed, only order the full English if you have a large appetite. The room we had was a seaview with balcony & was well appointed & cleaned to a high standard daily. We shall definitely return. The only minor quibble we had was that the in-room coffee-making facilities (packets of Nescafe instant) are not up to the standard of the rest of the hotel.

We stayed for 3 nights. Was well looked after from the moment we turned up. Could not park my car in car park as council where doing line painting on parking bays, so hotel managed to find me a parking else where for my car.

On our 1st night we had the tennerfest menu which must say was very good value.

Hotel is only a five to ten minute walk into town centre.

Would we stay there again you bet. Bed was very comfy did not want to get up as best nights sleep I have had in ages. Also as I stay in a lot of hotels with my job the teapot was a nice touch instead of just tea bag and cup.

I would like to thank all the staff from room attendants to reception and waiting staff all very friendly and would go that extra mile to make sure your stay was perfect. If you required anything which we did in our room it was attended to straight away.

We stayed here for 5 nights and were very impressed with this hotel. The decor was most attractive with a lot of attention to detail. We had an executive room which was most spacious and had both a sofa and 2 armchairs for relaxing in. The breakfast was very good and generous as well with lots of cooked choices. We had an evening meal as well which was delicious. All staff were most courteous ,friendly and extremely helpful, particularly Olga in the restaurant. We liked the little extras like the jars of sweets to help yourself from. If we go to Guernsey again ,we would definitely stay here.

This hotel is very nice but we arrived late I wanted a spa treatment. There were no availability at their hotel nor the Old Gvt Hse sister hotel. Instead they offered access to sports centre nearby which had proper swimming pool, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi. I was very happy to save money and actually really enjoyed it. Don't forget to grab a towel at reception. All else high quality - had dinner and breakfast at the hotel - all perfect. Room on the small side but comfortable with power shower and nice hard bed.

Stayed overnight while on the island for work. Really nice hotel, staff very friendly and helpful.

Room was good, decent size and comfy bed, pretty much all you need. Hotel itself is a bit quirky in decor but somehow works.

Breakfast is very nice and caters for gluten free with no fuss.

Will definitely stay again.

We have had many meals in the leopard bar at the Duke of Richmond and have always had outstanding service and superb food, so when it came to deciding where we would want to hold our wedding reception this hotel was the only one on our list from the start. Our wedding was beautiful , from start to finish everything was perfect ,the staff were fantastic throughout the day nothing was ever to much trouble , and the food was absolutely gorgeous as always. If you are looking for impeccable service, delicious food and being really well looked after then this is the place to stay. Excellent experience

One of the Red Carnation group which in my view is one of the best; service is always very personal. This is a beautifully modern but classy refurbished hotel I had a lovely room over the kitchens - normally this may be a problem, but I was woken at 6.30 am by the smell of freshly baking bread. Wonderful. All the typical niceties of RC: loo light for the night; sanitised remote control; flannels. Scrambled egg in the morning was a disappointment, but a word to the manager soon put that right. I can't grumble and I have tried the Old Government House here too although the latter is slightly lower down the hill. Beware of the climb at the end of a big meal in the town.

I used to visit Guernsey frequently on business 30+ years ago and really loved the place so whilst staying with my daughter and grandchildren... who now live in Jersey...last week I took the opportunity to " escape" for a night and took the fast ferry to Guernsey having booked the Duke of Richmond Hotel on a "Tennerfest" BB&D package... which turned out to be incredible value....The Hotel is spotless and beautifully furnished and the food superb...my fillet steak at dinner was perfection!... but the really outstanding feature of the whole experience was the staff....every one I came into contact with....from Reception to The Restaurant and everything in between...amazing bunch of people...impeccable!

Short stay to take in the food festival. The staff were fantastic, so friendly and attentive, a credit to the hotel. Food in the restaurant exceptional. A short walk down the hill ( through the beautiful Candie Gardens) into St Peters Port, so very convenient. Will have to return for a longer stay.

Top Hotel with amazing decor and very attentive staff with nothing being too much trouble. Wonderful room and the fabulous breakfasts which were freshly cooked to order with a menu to suit all tastes. The only negative I can give is having to leave after only 6 nights. If you want to treat yourself then this is definately the place to stay!

Our family all stayed at the hotel over the August bank Holiday week-end to celebrate our silver wedding anniversary. The staff were fantastic - Hilario had organised a private room for our celebration dinner which was excellent. The room looked amazing and the attention to detail was just brilliant - service was discreet but effective - nothing was too much trouble!
The whole week-end was very memorable - thank you DOR for making it such a special occasion for us.
