Ate here with my husband. The MOST delicious meal. Steaks were cooked to perfection and easily equalled places we have eaten before with Michelin stars.
Presentation was fabulous as was the service.
You can feel how passionate everyone is that works here that they want to deliver on service and quality of food.
Highly recommend. Definitely THE best restaurant East of the island.
Well done Bass and Lobster !

Had dinner with friends here on Saturday and everyone agreed it was just perfect.
Very professional yet friendly service, and the food is just amazing, so creative and full of flavours. My favourite dish was the mullet special(with lime gel and mango-champagne-coriander sorbet 😍) but everyone loved the homemade ghost chilli oil and the chilli chocolate ice cream; almost everything is locally sourced and homemade, including the delicious chocolates that come with the coffee. The Bass and Lobster is definitely worth a trip to Gorey!

Wonderful lunch here with wife and children. The lady serving us was very helpful and friendly and great with the kids. The ambience and food were great and we could have happily spent and few more hours there with a bottle of wine.

Thoroughly recommend the lamb and chorizo burger with truffle chips - a real gourmet burger, but there was so much else on the menu that sounded delicious - thoroughly recommend! :-)

Really enjoyable evening, catch of the day was mullet which was beautifully cooked and the fish and chips was local cod ... fabulous ... the homemade sorbets were really tasty ... we were well looked after by our host so all in all an excellent celebration of our time on jersey

Due to the number of good eateries in Jersey, this place was off our radar but not anymore. Had lunch here on the off chance and was very pleasantly surprised at how good the food was. Nice decor and was greeted by very welcoming staff. We both went for fish and chip but this was Plaice in a Tempura batter with chips sprinkled with Parmesan cheese served with proper homemade Tartare Sauce. The dessert offering was superb with lots of different homemade ice cream on offer. Will definitely be visiting again soon.

Tried this restaurant out with my partner last week as my AirB&B guests had rated it highly as had a friend. My partner and I both had the Sunday lunch set menu (£20 for 2 courses). Extremely tasty and beautifully prepared food. Lovely crispy roast potatoes (and more given if you ask for them at no extra cost). All fresh and local produce (no frozen food unlike the last restaurant meal we had in Gorey) with home baked bread and dips to start and an extremely tasty dessert accompanied with home made ice cream to finish. (You can choose from a huge array of flavours of ice cream). My partner said it was the best meal he had had in Jersey (in 2 yrs) and I had to agree. We said it was a proper restaurant with a talented chef who can really cook (and not just heat food up as so many do) and professional staff who are very attentive and friendly and know their trade. Nice to have a proper dining experience and good value for money too.

We visited this restaurant in October half term last year and again today. Both times we have had a very warm welcome, great service and really fabulous food . The set meal was incredible value... faultless meals for all six guests. We will be back.

Do check if Lobster is on, we missed out, however, the service and food is wonderful. Very little parking so might be worth a taxi ride.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you all enjoyed
We 4 had lunch here on 11th October and although part of October fest the food didn't let us down. Service was superb and food inventive and colour full . The starters and mains had good unusual choices and the desserts were excellent.

We visited here for the Tennerfest menu. This appeared to closely mirror their a la carte which was lovely to see. We had advised in advance that I needed to follow a gluten free diet and have a tree nut allergy. Their attention to ensuring that everything I was served was safe for me to eat, and that I had a good choice, was exceptional. There was gluten free bread brought automatically to the table and the meals we had were beautifully presented with extra touches which elevated the flavours to high end restaurant levels. The bill, including three delicious courses each and two drinks each was under £70. Fantastic value. Will definitely visit again.

Went for lunch and enjoyed an unusual set menu.
The atmosphere was relaxed, the surroundings pleasant and the staff attentive.
This is fine dining at a reasonable price.

To start with front of house very welcoming and friendly. Lovely ambiance and comfortable surroundings. I never looked at the menu and went on the recommended choice of plaice in panko breadcrumbs followed by the curry. Wife had the lobster croquets and also the curry. When talking curry forget anything resembling an Indian as this was not like any curry I’ve ever had! Beautiful. Washed down with a recommended glass of red. Oh and not to forget the starters and I don’t usually like plaice! What an enthusiastic goody our hostess was and hope she enjoys our slant on Unami! Foodies will understand. Hope to see you again soon

Whilst researching somewhere nice to eat for our trip to Jersey, I noticed that The Bass & Lobster had been recommended by a disgruntled diner at one of Gorey’s other restaurants. We certainly weren’t disappointed with the food and the warm welcome that we received put us at our ease. Had we not been staying in the west of the island, we would definitely have returned for a second visit. We wish you every success.

Choose this restaurant based on reviews and what a treat.
Very good service from the moment we walked into the restaurant.
The explanation about what good as to what to expect as we ordered chicken curry. It was delicious although very different to a standard curry amongst the nicest dishes we have eaten.
A light meal followed by a delicious apple crumble, mum had brioche bread n butter pudding and that was exceptional too.
Very reasonable price for amazing food with s twist.
The couple running this restaurant aim to please in every aspect and they succeed.
Shame we haven’t time to go back but definitely will if I return to the island.
Thank you for a really enjoyable eve.

Happened to drive past so popped in for dinner. Decor is modern and the staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable about their food.
A good range of food, all locally sourced - daily specials, a la carte plus a set menu, so lots of choice.
Had a fab meal. This restaurant is a little gem.

What a brilliant restaurant. The chef is clearly very imaginative and mixes flavours and concepts that you would only expect in seriously high-end dining. Ever thought of having scallops with black pudding? Course you have. Everyone does that. But not everyone adds a cple of little scoops of tarragon ice cream do they? That's not a spellchecker error, that's tarragon ice cream, once tried never forgotten. The scallops, hand-dived from the bay outside the restaurant's front door, were cooked to perfection. Local seafood - and local produce in general - is something the proprietors are very proud of, and rightly so. Mains of a trio of lamb and the duck were also excellent prepared and plated immaculately. There is a fine selection of desserts in addition to a page's worth of home-made ice cream and sorbets. Basil ice cream showed that other herbs can also be used in the hunt for gelato perfection, but the red Thai curry ice cream.... What a way to finish the meal. The list also contains old favourites, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, honey so nobody should feel intimidated. And besides, Kirsty - the front of house - was a font of knowledge and couldn't have been more hospitable.
If you live locally, just go and count yourself as very fortunate indeed.

During our 2 week trip, this was our best meal in Jersey. Friendly and attentive staff, creative menu and excellent local produce. Great to see a Jersey restaurant sourcing the best available fish, vegetables etc
Oysters from Grouville Bay were sensational, as were the hand dived scallops. Bream and Hake mains were beautifully cooked. Their creative range of ice creams and gelatos are a “must try”! Chef and his wife and their enthusiastic staff deserve to do well. Take a bus to Gorey, have a drink outside one of the pubs, enjoy the harbour view, and walk the 15 mins back to Bass and Lobster for a great meal. Seriously recommended!

Had some great food in Jersey and ate here on our last day, and it was the best food we had all week.
Started with the oysters and then had the whole poached lobster and it was the best I had that week. My partner had the steak and lobster and she also thought it was the best steak she has had all week!
While we were staying in St Helier we used the local bus to get to Goery Pier for a premeal drink and then walked to the restaurant.
Will definitely go back on next visit to Jersey.
