We 4 had lunch here on 11th October and although part of October fest the food didn't let us down. Service was superb and food inventive and colour full . The starters and mains had good unusual choices and the desserts were excellent.

We visited here for the Tennerfest menu. This appeared to closely mirror their a la carte which was lovely to see. We had advised in advance that I needed to follow a gluten free diet and have a tree nut allergy. Their attention to ensuring that everything I was served was safe for me to eat, and that I had a good choice, was exceptional. There was gluten free bread brought automatically to the table and the meals we had were beautifully presented with extra touches which elevated the flavours to high end restaurant levels. The bill, including three delicious courses each and two drinks each was under £70. Fantastic value. Will definitely visit again.

The atmosphere was relaxed, the surroundings pleasant and the staff attentive.
This is fine dining at a reasonable price.

To start with front of house very welcoming and friendly. Lovely ambiance and comfortable surroundings. I never looked at the menu and went on the recommended choice of plaice in panko breadcrumbs followed by the curry. Wife had the lobster croquets and also the curry. When talking curry forget anything resembling an Indian as this was not like any curry I’ve ever had! Beautiful. Washed down with a recommended glass of red. Oh and not to forget the starters and I don’t usually like plaice! What an enthusiastic goody our hostess was and hope she enjoys our slant on Unami! Foodies will understand. Hope to see you again soon

Whilst researching somewhere nice to eat for our trip to Jersey, I noticed that The Bass & Lobster had been recommended by a disgruntled diner at one of Gorey’s other restaurants. We certainly weren’t disappointed with the food and the warm welcome that we received put us at our ease. Had we not been staying in the west of the island, we would definitely have returned for a second visit. We wish you every success.

Choose this restaurant based on reviews and what a treat.
Very good service from the moment we walked into the restaurant.
The explanation about what good as to what to expect as we ordered chicken curry. It was delicious although very different to a standard curry amongst the nicest dishes we have eaten.
A light meal followed by a delicious apple crumble, mum had brioche bread n butter pudding and that was exceptional too.
Very reasonable price for amazing food with s twist.
The couple running this restaurant aim to please in every aspect and they succeed.
Shame we haven’t time to go back but definitely will if I return to the island.
Thank you for a really enjoyable eve.

Happened to drive past so popped in for dinner. Decor is modern and the staff are very pleasant and knowledgeable about their food.
A good range of food, all locally sourced - daily specials, a la carte plus a set menu, so lots of choice.
Had a fab meal. This restaurant is a little gem.

What a brilliant restaurant. The chef is clearly very imaginative and mixes flavours and concepts that you would only expect in seriously high-end dining. Ever thought of having scallops with black pudding? Course you have. Everyone does that. But not everyone adds a cple of little scoops of tarragon ice cream do they? That's not a spellchecker error, that's tarragon ice cream, once tried never forgotten. The scallops, hand-dived from the bay outside the restaurant's front door, were cooked to perfection. Local seafood - and local produce in general - is something the proprietors are very proud of, and rightly so. Mains of a trio of lamb and the duck were also excellent prepared and plated immaculately. There is a fine selection of desserts in addition to a page's worth of home-made ice cream and sorbets. Basil ice cream showed that other herbs can also be used in the hunt for gelato perfection, but the red Thai curry ice cream.... What a way to finish the meal. The list also contains old favourites, vanilla, chocolate, coffee, honey so nobody should feel intimidated. And besides, Kirsty - the front of house - was a font of knowledge and couldn't have been more hospitable.
If you live locally, just go and count yourself as very fortunate indeed.

During our 2 week trip, this was our best meal in Jersey. Friendly and attentive staff, creative menu and excellent local produce. Great to see a Jersey restaurant sourcing the best available fish, vegetables etc
Oysters from Grouville Bay were sensational, as were the hand dived scallops. Bream and Hake mains were beautifully cooked. Their creative range of ice creams and gelatos are a “must try”! Chef and his wife and their enthusiastic staff deserve to do well. Take a bus to Gorey, have a drink outside one of the pubs, enjoy the harbour view, and walk the 15 mins back to Bass and Lobster for a great meal. Seriously recommended!

Had some great food in Jersey and ate here on our last day, and it was the best food we had all week.
Started with the oysters and then had the whole poached lobster and it was the best I had that week. My partner had the steak and lobster and she also thought it was the best steak she has had all week!
While we were staying in St Helier we used the local bus to get to Goery Pier for a premeal drink and then walked to the restaurant.
Will definitely go back on next visit to Jersey.

It’s a while since we went to the Bass & Lobster and were worried that we should have booked for Saturday lunch, but fortunately we seemed to hit a very, very quiet day and were almost the only people there, very unusual.
We started by sharing a Tempura King Prawn & Baby Squid, which was deliciously light, but a special mention to the accompanying Asian slaw and coconut mayonnaise style sauce.
I had planned on a seafood main course, but couldn’t resist the idea of the lamb and chorizo burger, and wasn’t disappointed when it arrived, even if it was much bigger than I expected. My wife had traditional fish and chips, again a huge portion and she sensibility left some of the delicious batter that I sampled just to check it was as a good as it looked.
I was too full to order a dessert, but my wife couldn’t resist the special dessert of saffron rice pudding with a sultana, apricot and ginger chutney, ginger and honey ice cream and a pistachio foam topping. We shared one portion, and whilst the combination was very, very good; for me, the ice cream was the star turn.
We had a really fun lunch chatting to the manageress and the waiter and will certainly return, but we will probably book to avoid any chance of disappointment.

We have eaten here twice in 4 days as we enjoyed it so much. The food here would grace any top end restaurant and the flavours created by the chef are just amazing. Ingredients that you wouldn't expect to work just do and you are left marvelling at the taste sensations. Don't be put off by the slightly drab exterior, book a table and enjoy a meal that you won't forget.

Being local, we' ve eaten at The Bass & Lobster several times and we always had fantastic meals! Once again this time, our meal was superb; Dave' s cooking demonstrates fine execution and creativity. The front of house headed by Kirstie is extremely well managed, professional, polite and very efficient!
See you soon!

From the moment we arrived until the moment we left we were made to feel valued. The service was excellent and so was the food. I had the courgette flower stuffed with curried lobster mousse, my husband had duck wanton, both of which were beautifully presented and tasted delicious. This was preceded by homemade curried bread with a gorgeous herb dipping oil. We both opted for the lamb and chorizo burger which was equally lovely. We didn’t really have room for dessert but a honey and ginger ice cream had been mentioned so I opted for one scoop. Priced at £2 I expected a small bowl with a scoop of ice cream but again it arrived beautifully presented in a brandy snap basket with a chocolate shard and strawberry garnish. Planning to return tomorrow!!

We usually try to visit The Bass & Lobster on our visits to Jersey, (approx 3 times a year) This visit was Exceptional, our food was served by the Amazing "Kirstie" how she helped with both what was on offer and the wine list. The food was as usual wonderful, I even managed to tuck into a selection of the Chef's amazing ice cream desserts, WOW
We will return, probably again this year. Thank you again

We were staying nearby and were attracted by the good online reviews. We certainly weren't disappointed. The food is quite lovely and, with a bit more attention to detail, will be superb - a missing dressing from a starter, a very messy plate with sauce all over the edges - small things for sure, but these guys have serious ambitions and so they should. The awards come when those little details are right. The chef was kind enough to share the recipe for the totally gorgeous walnut dressing from my starter - that's a nice touch. We're on the island only.for a week and if we can, we'll go back. It was THAT good.

The food was nicely presented, well cooked, and imaginatively put together. Highlights were the halloumi cheese and cous cous starter, fish and chips main, and vanilla cream brûlée. A lot of the food is locally sourced. Overall quality of the food was high. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended.

We were introduced to the Bass and Lobster on our Jersey Food Tour as part of our visit to the Island to celebrate our Silver wedding, and knew we just had to return. The return did not disappoint. The food was sensational and the service was flawless. We cannot speak highly enough of this wonderful restaurant and will visit again when we come back to Jersey.
