The quality of the produce and presentation were outstanding and at affordable prices. Commendations to the chef and maitre de, a truly standout meal and will not disappoint.

Wow! Love this restaurant.
It was really busy and has great atmosphere & the staff are really friendly. It was buzzing. Had an amazing meal.
I had sea bass & lobster, it was delicious. All meals were beautifully presented & very tasty.
There is limited parking outside the Bass & Lobster but there is car park just down the road, no more than 2minutes walk away.

Good to see a restaurant busy-travelled from the other side of the Island, friendly service. as we sat near the kitchen-glass windows, you could see the meals being freshly prepared and cooked.
Recommend to couples, family and big groups

This venue was chosen by some friends we were meeting for lunch. It is somewhere that they know well and was a good choice.
Two of us had the hake and two the confit of belly pork and both were very good. Our caramel cheesecake with popcorn came served in a small open Kilner Jar; rather novel and quite light and tasty.
A very pleasant dining experience.

This is the best restaurant in Gorey if you want home made chips and I know as I am a connoisseur! There is plenty of choice in the area but if you want my favourite of steak and chips, it seems to be the only place that still provides 'real' chips. Whatever your choice is you will not be disappointed as it is a very varied menu and the atmosphere and staff excellent. Don't miss it if you are in Jersey.

Our first night in Jersey and our first time on the island. This was a comfortable 20 minute stroll from our hotel and was well worth a visit. We had not booked a table so were very pleased they could fit us in on a Saturday night. Plenty of people had bookings after us, many of whom seemed to have dined there before and knew the staff. We were looked after very well and the food was wonderful. We chose from the set menu. For starters I had gaspacho and my hubby had gravalax with shellfish on a potato pancake in a lovely cream sauce. Both starters were presented beautifully and tasted divine. For main course we both had belly of pork which was presented with the most lovely potato & chorizo cake, parsnip puree and seasonal veg which we polished off easily. Dessert was just the perfect size - a sliver of peach sponge with coconut icecream for me and a beautifully presented cheeseboard for hubby. We were delighted with our first night's meal in Jersey at The Bass & Lobster and would not hesitate to recommend. The only thing we felt could have been better was to have not felt so rushed. No sooner had we finished one course, then the next was placed in front of us. Since then, having been in Jersey for a couple of days now, this seems to be the norm.

Visited for dinner to celebrate our wedding anniversary with our daughter too. We were made to feel very welcome and the staff were very friendly. The choices on the menu were great on both the a la carte and set menu. We opted for a la carte and our daughter had a children's meal which was a very good size and she enjoyed it. Our food was very good too.The restaurant itself had a good feel about it and was very relaxed. A most enjoyable evening. We will go again.

We are Jersey locals and regularly visit The Bass and Lobster.
Always very friendly and we have never had a bad meal. The price is reasonable and the food is good. I regularly have the tasting plate as a starter followed by one of the blackboard specials.

Went there for a lunch recently with my partner. Have to say that I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food. It was simple, but delicious and reasonably priced . Recommend it highly

Very pleasant ambience, very attentive staff and a first class enjoyable meal. Just in Jersey for the week and took advantage of a local offer for this set meal in Gorey. Although the offer was for a set meal there was at least four choices of each of the three courses, and there was a good selection for each. Will definitely be returning and sending my daughter, who lives in Jersey to sample this fine restaurant. Thanks!

To be honest the food was great - I couldn't fault it. We had the lobster of the day and it was very well cooked and the service was excellent. Alas, this is one restaurant which we will not be returning to. The reason is that the noise from the other diners was incredibly loud and we couldn't hear ourselves think. The ill-thought out decision to place all the diners in the same part of the restaurant was awful. A table of some 10 or so people shouting at the top of their voices was most off putting. I think they should have placed people farther apart - we couldn't get out quick enough!

With the old management back as the new owners the Bass & Lobster is back to being the best food in Gorey & that is a tough job as some of the islands best restaurants are in this area.
We were regular diners for years until the original management left then the restaurant went down hill but on hearing Anna was back we have been twice in the last couple of weeks. It's food is fantastic & staff very pleasant. We could see the restaurant is getting busier already so book ahead.

We ate here twice during our stay in Jersey.
Both times the food was delicious. Well presented and generous portions. We chose from the set menu which you could choose two courses. Excellent value for money, top notch food.
The service is excellent, a new venture for Anna, who was also working her notice at our hotel. The ambience is lovely. Good luck. You must visit.

The restaurant I think is trying to be in a class that it can't be. Definitely "Two peas in a pod" style ... Waitress recommended we had extra veg as the "normal" serving was not enough!
Items advertised and not available too ... This might suit some folk but its not for us!

Had a great meal, absolutely delicious! Good atmosphere & really friendly staff. The scallops were divine :) but plenty of choice for both seafood & steak. Just to mention the gazpacho was superb. Really worth a visit.

This outing was courtesy of a voucher. The dining areas were quite cosy and welcoming. The meals we ordered were good and well presented. The service was slow because they were light on chefs that evening. (we were told) The food was really nice and I would recommend this place to anyone. The staff were nice and worked very hard. All in all, a pleasant experience.

I had a meal at The Bass & Lobster on Saturday the 26th of March and was sadly disappointed we arrived 20 mins earlier than our table was booked for and was happy to stand at the bar and wait for our table with in 5 mins of standing we were seated at our table. we were happy by this point we looked over the menu that has not changed since opening and even changing hands we in its self is a bit disappointing. we proceeded in ordering our food then had to wait almost 45 mins for our starters which seemed like an awfully long time, they arrived and were lovely but again there is no real flair in the food. we finished our starters and they were cleared away and then there was another long wait for our mains almost an hour. when we order our mains two member of our group wanted fillet steak and we were told there was two left which was fine with us, sadly when they arrived one was meant to be medium rare and came out medium and the other was meant to medium and looked like a burger more than a fillet steak, when you are being charged almost £25 for a steak you do expect a good standard. they tried to make us feel better by taking £ pounds of the steak and giving us a free drink which we ere not told what it was it was just placed in front of us. All in all it was very sad and I don't think I will be returning as it was one of my favourite places to eat but not anymore. Sorry Bass & Lobster but I have to be honest.

The Bass and Lobster has developed a strong reputation for its brasserie type dining amongst its large local clientele. There are several really good restaurants in the area and the B&L competes well at all levels - cuisine, service and price.
There are both a la carte and table d'hôte menus to satisfy all palates and all pockets. Our last visit was as part of a group when when both dinner and service were entirely satisfactory - service is always a test when in a group. There is a reasonably but adequate wine list with the Don David always proving to be a popular choice.
Always an enjoyable experience - add it to your list of places to eat in Jersey

We stayed in jersey for a couple of days earlier this month.
We had driven past this place a couple of times and it was shut (Mondays), But we got in for lunch on Tuesday.
What a beautiful place. The dining room looks like a big French kitchen. it has wood floors and really nice amount of space between tables.
It has a lovely bar area and a kitchen you can see into as they cook.
we were greeted by a really friendly staff who made a real effort. Our waiter didn't just take a large glass of red without wanting to know what kind of red I liked discussed the strength and where I wanted the wine to come from. Went for the Malbec which I can recommend to you, served in high quality spotless glasses.
For my lunch I had scallops on a bed of truffle infused risotto with a garlic aioli. Absolutely beautiful.
That dish cost about £15.00 which was good but considering I got eight really great juicy scallops instead of the three or four I would have got in my home area, it was a steal.
When coming outside a across the road there is the most beautiful beach, and view of the castle across the bay.
If you are staying in St Helier as we were there is the no. 1 bus, that goes right past the restaurant, great if you want to have a beer and not drive and the bus route is beautiful up the coast road.
Couldn't find anything negative to say about the place except they shut at 2.30, although they are probably open more in season.
If you go to Jersey go here.
