The food was very good and well presented. The restaurant itself was very busy with lots of life which is something we like (we don't like eating in a very quiet restaurant as it can feel a little awkward) but the down side is that it was very noisy. There are a couple of mushroom shapes attached to the ceiling (presumably to dampen noise) but they don't seem to make an effect. A "parachute" (obviously to Fire Regs) attached to the ceiling could soften the profile of the room and make it a more pleasant environment when it is busier (but there are other ways to do this as well)

Went there for lunch with friend. Decor was great, the service was great & lovely food. The only little niggle was the music, we were under the speaker & my friends found it annoying, I found the type of music annoying. Other than that we will be back but not at that table. Lovely lunch 👍

A family group of us went here for a meal. The food was very good and service smart, but the wave of noise from people talking was not pleasant. My sister-in-law who has poor hearing, could hear nothing at all and so could not take part in our table's discussions and personally I found the noise so intense that is make me feel a bit off-colour. My wife & I gave up eating in Carluccio's restaurants years ago, because they went for such flat, hard surfaces. Four silly little sound attenuators hanging from the ceiling in the Bass & Lobster had no effect and are a testimony to poor design of the structure. Jersey is packed with good restaurants, serving good food - so a 'comfortable' environment is extremely important. I suspect we shall not be back.

I went with a couple of friends for drinks and then dinner. The Bass and Lobster serve fantastic, local, hand-dived scallops. They came with celeriac purée, pancetta and buerre blanc. Good, smart presentation and very good flavour.
The wine list is varied and interesting. We drank the Pouilly Fuisse which was exceptional.
Price/quality ratio is good. The only small negative would be the interior of the restaurant; a bit bland and uninviting. However, this is negated by the wonderful food and competent, friendly service.

Visited during holiday in Jersey. just had a main course and the largest cheese board you ever saw. The food was outstanding and the best meal we had on our trip.
It was not busy that night, but the service was A1 and not expensive for the standard and quality of food and service we received.

This restaurant was recommend by the owner of a shop in the village. The service was excellent and so was the food. The steak was large and cooked to perfection, the Base & Lobster dish was wonderful, the desserts were well worth the money. The two other guest had the 3 course set menu and were very pleased with their Mushroom starters, Lamb main and Cheesecake & Cheese Board choice. There was only 2 waitress on duty but the service was excellent even though they were busy.

My daughter chose to have her birthday meal here. She was given a birthday card on our arrival which made her day! We chose the a la carte and set menu which had great choices on both. The food was amazing and the service was great. We look forward to returning.

A nice friendly restaurant with excellent food.
Visited late on a Saturday (9pm), well met by friendly and efficient staff, good choice of food extremely well cooked and prepared with a very reasonable price.
Another visit is for sure.

Popped in without a reservation for an evening meal. Antipasti starter quite large with good variety of meats. Scallops exceptionally good as starter or main meal. I had the signature dish of a large fillet of sea bass and half a lobster and vegetables which was outstanding and very good value. Dessert of creme brûlée with sorbet an excellent finish, as was the homemade cheesecake. Two three course meals with bread and bottle of Prosecco under 90 pounds. Service was efficient but unhurried. All in all the best meal we had on Jersey.

A restaurant that seems to be trying to appeal to everyone I could not simply describe it, however the food we had was fresh and well cooked and if you read the menu before booking you will not be disappointed

One word, FABULOUS!! Visited the restaurant whilst on holiday in Jersey. Had heard of it and was pleased to come across it walking back to my hotel from the beach. What a find ☺, for me a perfect place for a meal for any occasion, very relaxed yet special, great service, ambience and menu without the pretentiousness or elevated prices of other places of this standard. The menu and specials were so to my taste it was very hard to choose, so was delighted when I could 'mix and match', bringing me to service which was unobtrusive but smooth and professional. Dining alone can sometimes be slightly awkward but definitely not here, I felt perfectly welcome and treated in a friendly manner as were the other diners.
I ordered antipasti and hand dived scallops on truffle risotto and honestly this was the finest meal I have ever eaten, beautifully presented, exactly what I expected, generous and delightful.Whilst having coffee I asked Anna my waitress if she could order me a taxi back to my hotel, incredibly she actually drove me there!! Now I realise this is probably not the restaurant policy but genuine kindness which just topped off this truly magical meal.
Do not hesitate to visit this place, whilst in Jersey,in fact put it at the top of your list if you are a food lover.

Have dined here several times and the food has been consistantly good. Local ingredients, some interesting dishes and specials which change daily. Nice friendly staff. It can get busy so best to book your table.

Called in on the off chance and got the last available table. So friendly and welcoming. Superb food and excellent service. Set menu, two courses £18 and three for £22. I had squid and king prawns in tempura, delicious. (From a la carte) kids too chose from a la carte, steak, which looked delicious and Mr P from set menu. All first class. Must remember to book next time!

Wednesday night and no dinner reservations so we just followed some confident looking diners into the Bass and lobster. Our timing was good - we slotted in perfectly. Some later tables had a wait.
Restaurant is very pretty. Bread served as standard and also water. Good good ! Wine was also good. 3 girls (ladies) were efficient , friendly and competent. Busy but coping very well. There is a window to the kitchen where three chefs looked the part. Perhaps they could have been stretched a little more. Our food was average but my cheesecake pudding was very good. Some of these dishes could have been done by numbers in a chain restaurant without the expense of these 3 guys. Some more oomph needed to make this place great.

I live on jersey and have eaten at most restaurants on a number of occasions, bass and lobster is head and shoulders above them all! Every item on the menu is outstanding ranging from the scallops to the steak. The atmosphere is always excellent and the staff always helpful. Easily my favourite restaurant on the island and very reasonable in terms of price

My dad lives in Gorey so when I come over to visit the island there is a check list of things to do as a treat and having a meal at the Bass and Lobster is one of them as i have been there a few times and never disappointed with everything, food the staff. This time was special as it was just me and my wife we arrived at 19:45 and was seated fast we ordered wine that did not take long to come to the table although it was busy my wife and I then ordered our food which was hard because of the choices of what all looked lovely we had a bass and Lobster platter to share which was really tasty, that had pate goats cheese with spring onions which was accompanied with toast also on the board was oysters which my wife had as I'm not sure I would like them and smoked salmon and capicho a sort of cold tomato soup which was full of flavour. Our wine that was in the cool bucket was never picked up by either me or my wife as the waitress would top up our glasses we did not have to wait to long for our starters to be cleared up then our mains which looked like Michelin stared food my wife had the grilled brill that had souted Jersey potatoes and a cream sauce I had a filet of pork stuffed with black pudding and wrapped in parma ham with veg and jus we both demolished our meals leaving nothing on our plates we were asked if we wanted to leave it for a bit before we decided a pudding which was nice because some places like to rush you and it feels like they want the next people in but definitely not here also by now we both on our second bottle of wine my wife ordered a sort of sundae thing that had white chocolate mouse and fruit and order a creme brulle that came with a cherry sorbet that made it that little bit special. So all round happy with the food and service and love coming back.

This is our fourth trip to this restaurant in as many years. We had booked weeks in advance but this time we left disappointed. The food was very good but the speed of service was painfully slow. We arrived at 8 and were seated quickly. It took 30 mins staring at our menu before we could place an order and a full hour before my wife got anything to eat other than bread. After the main courses finished a further 20 mins to get a bill which I only got by walking towards the bar asking how to pay. The two staff that were front of house were trying their best but seems they need either more staff or more in the kitchen to meet the demand. Feels like an experienced manager is needed as the food deserves better ! We did not have deserts but 2.10 mins to have two courses is far too slow and becomes irritating with Children sitting patiently as they can. I appreciate it is not the Atlantic but they could learn something by the way they run a restaurant with levels of efficiency and service seldom seen. It takes years to build a reputation and months to destroy it ....who ever owns the Bass and Lobster they need to get a grip quickly.

My husband and I with our two children (11 & 20), decided to visit this restaurant and had a lovely meal. We were given a nice table and the staff were very friendly. The menu suited us all with a great variety of dishes. The set menu would have been good but we decided to go á la carte. Even though it was busy we weren't kept waiting and were able to have a break before the dessert !
