This is just such a great place, the food is excellent, the staff are friendly and attentive but without being in your face. They are happy to provide a jug of iced water 💦 without forcing you to buy bottled water. It is on a great bus route. We are so lucky to live within walking 🚶 distance do that we can enjoy on a regular basis. Highly recommended.

Went in here for a Christmas meal with colleagues. The service was good and we all enjoyed the food. The atmosphere was good (all tables seemed to be Christmasy).
I think there was a small carpark although there is a free public one opposite anyway.Would like to eat here again for a "normal" meal as I feel it would be a good meal.

We have eaten at this restaurant half a dozen times over the last 12 months both as a couple and a family with young children.
Every single meal that we have had has been exceptional in terms of food quality. The chef is far more 'restaurant' than 'pub' trained.
The meals are also exceptional value considering the price paid for the quality of food.
We would certainly recommend it and find the lady hostess ( blonde) also to be exceptionally organized, friendly and welcoming, but not overpowering.

Went Friday evening for a QI voucher deal.
3 courses on a select menu.Bottle of Prosecco , water, tomato juice.
Great selections on all three sections.Service was attentive and listened to customers requests, not rushed through the three courses at all.
Continually filled glass. Will return soon on the A la Carte menu.
Overall fantastic choice.

Having been here on every visit to Jersey it just gets better.
The service is great and the staff always friendly. Our meals were delicious. We all had different starters & mains. Each were beautifully presented & cooked to perfection.
We had an early evening meal with a 3year old & a baby & they were welcomed with open arms. High chair available & crayons & colouring sheet & children's menu's.It is an undeniably great restaurant.

We have been frequenting the Bass and Lobster for some years and still eat here on a regular basis.
Regardless of price, the quality of the food is excellent, with both the table d'hote and a la carte menus proving good value. The kitchen team maintain the same high standards time and time again. Although the food presentation is excellent, the emphasis is on taste.
The service has always been polite, charming, efficient and friendly, without the cloying obsequiousness to be found in some other restaurants. The atmosphere is relaxed and relatively informal, with discreet and interesting background music.
It's the sort of place, that, if you visit regularly, you will regularly see the same customers.

Very smart décor since we last visited, modern and clean, good menu offers for budget prices. Head guy was efficient, but lacked any warmth or personal connection, the waitress was almost to the point of being surly, again efficient serving, but no smile to welcome us, or when she brought food or cleared away, hardly spoke at all.
No background music so you can hear conversations on other tables and the staff cold approach adds to the feeling of no atmosphere or friendly ambience.Shame, because food is good and nicely presented.... come on Bass & Lobster, you are serving people, not robots.!

Firstly the food was excellent and the staff the same .But we didnt like to see a chef in the kitchen who had long greasy hair ,who should have had a hat of some sort on .There was no atmosphere generally in the restaurant ,probably because its a bit bright in there ...... not rushing back .

It's always a pleasure to go out for a meal and have plenty of space between the tables which gives you a little more privacy. Our meal, all fish, was fresh, freshly prepared, served by young friendly staff all of which contributed to a very enjoyable evening. The food was elegantly presented as was the bill which was not just less than expected but great value for money. Great seafood at a good price!

Food was ok, seemed as though they were a little understaffed on the floor but saying that the staff were very nice! Wouldn't rush back but wasn't bad.

The food was very good and well presented. The restaurant itself was very busy with lots of life which is something we like (we don't like eating in a very quiet restaurant as it can feel a little awkward) but the down side is that it was very noisy. There are a couple of mushroom shapes attached to the ceiling (presumably to dampen noise) but they don't seem to make an effect. A "parachute" (obviously to Fire Regs) attached to the ceiling could soften the profile of the room and make it a more pleasant environment when it is busier (but there are other ways to do this as well)

Went there for lunch with friend. Decor was great, the service was great & lovely food. The only little niggle was the music, we were under the speaker & my friends found it annoying, I found the type of music annoying. Other than that we will be back but not at that table. Lovely lunch 👍

A family group of us went here for a meal. The food was very good and service smart, but the wave of noise from people talking was not pleasant. My sister-in-law who has poor hearing, could hear nothing at all and so could not take part in our table's discussions and personally I found the noise so intense that is make me feel a bit off-colour. My wife & I gave up eating in Carluccio's restaurants years ago, because they went for such flat, hard surfaces. Four silly little sound attenuators hanging from the ceiling in the Bass & Lobster had no effect and are a testimony to poor design of the structure. Jersey is packed with good restaurants, serving good food - so a 'comfortable' environment is extremely important. I suspect we shall not be back.

I went with a couple of friends for drinks and then dinner. The Bass and Lobster serve fantastic, local, hand-dived scallops. They came with celeriac purée, pancetta and buerre blanc. Good, smart presentation and very good flavour.
The wine list is varied and interesting. We drank the Pouilly Fuisse which was exceptional.
Price/quality ratio is good. The only small negative would be the interior of the restaurant; a bit bland and uninviting. However, this is negated by the wonderful food and competent, friendly service.

Visited during holiday in Jersey. just had a main course and the largest cheese board you ever saw. The food was outstanding and the best meal we had on our trip.
It was not busy that night, but the service was A1 and not expensive for the standard and quality of food and service we received.

This restaurant was recommend by the owner of a shop in the village. The service was excellent and so was the food. The steak was large and cooked to perfection, the Base & Lobster dish was wonderful, the desserts were well worth the money. The two other guest had the 3 course set menu and were very pleased with their Mushroom starters, Lamb main and Cheesecake & Cheese Board choice. There was only 2 waitress on duty but the service was excellent even though they were busy.

My daughter chose to have her birthday meal here. She was given a birthday card on our arrival which made her day! We chose the a la carte and set menu which had great choices on both. The food was amazing and the service was great. We look forward to returning.

Popped in without a reservation for an evening meal. Antipasti starter quite large with good variety of meats. Scallops exceptionally good as starter or main meal. I had the signature dish of a large fillet of sea bass and half a lobster and vegetables which was outstanding and very good value. Dessert of creme brûlée with sorbet an excellent finish, as was the homemade cheesecake. Two three course meals with bread and bottle of Prosecco under 90 pounds. Service was efficient but unhurried. All in all the best meal we had on Jersey.
