We liked everything about the cathedral. The staff were also so helpful and knowledgeable; we so loved watching the jackdaw's who had set up home in the walls of the great building! It was amazing to hear the chicks as the mother came back with food for them. A beautiful, tranquil and inspiring visit.

An absolutely magical cathedral--this must be among the very best cathedrals in the world. Please do not visit Lichfield and not pay a visit to the Cathedral.

Unusual reddish stone cathedral with stunning statues and stone carving. Could do with cleaning up the stone as would then in my opinion be much more of a tourist attraction.

Lichfield cathedral is stunning and steeped in history. The newly restored windows are breathtaking - and how refreshing that it's free to enter - do leave a donation - it takes a huge amount to maintain. The volunteer guides are friendly and informative. An absolute must if you're visiting Lichfield.

What a wonderful site the Cathedral is. It stands proud. Quite easy access. You do not have to be religious to enjoy and appreciate an historical building. There is a park and ducks and swans on the water near by. Enjoy the shops in Damm Street. Have tea and cake enjoy the experience.

It was okay as cathedrals go, but not the most interesting I've been to. There seemed to be such a lot of Victoriana there, but what else could we have expected.

Given that this is one of those place that Cromwell knocked about a bit it is a beautiful little cathedral. Lovely statues both inside and out and a peaceful atmosphere. The little cathedral café close by is ideal for snacks or meals afterwards.

Lichfield cathedral is the defining feature of this lovely town, which we visited for the first time today. A visit to the cathedral is a must when in the town and we started with a stroll around the outside, looking at the amazing stone carvings which line the building. The front facade of the cathedral is superb, being covered in intricate carvings of religious figures.

We then went in for a look around. Entry is free, although they do ask for a donation for the upkeep of the cathedral, which is fair enough.

There is a lot to see inside, and everything is in perfect condition, particularly the numerous stained glass windows. It really is a magnificent building, and the view from the far end back to the main altar is particularly stunning. At every point there is something of interest.

Lichfield cathedral is a truly beautiful place to visit, whether you are religious or not (I am not), and you cannot fail to be impressed by both the majesty of the building, and the incredible skill that has gone into its construction. Very, very highly recommended.

Been here several times and witout wishing to sound grumpy it seems to me there's always a significant part of it covered in plastic sheets / boarded off due to repairs / renovations. That is the biased view of a photographer who is yet to get a decent full length shot of the inside.

As a 'non photographer' it is an amazing place that if nothing else you'll wonder "Just how did they build this?" Wel worth a visit - or two - or three.

Went to see the stained glass window which has recently been restored. Unfortunately we were on a tight schedule so really didn't see anything else. From the little we did see I can say that it's a beautiful cathedral and well worth a visit - I hope to return in future.

Visitors to the Cathedral may or may not be aware that the Cathedral currently offer a tour that allows you to go up the Cathedral within the Cathedral, which offers views of Lichfield.

We've been to the Cathedral numerous times, but never up the Cathedral.

We went on the 2pm tour and was advised it would last about an hour. It lasted almost two I believe. The tour guides were exceptional and extremely knowledgeable. They showed a great passion in their knowledge.

A note to anyone decicing to go up the Cathedral, there are quite a few steps, 160 on our tour I believe. However the architecture of this historical building is ingenious. The climb that we did was separated into two separate climbs. The steps up for those that don't know can be steep, but if you don't mind, they are amazing.

At the top thinking back, the view was incredible. The party were able to view the views in 4 directions I believe, however I only really did the one view in detail.

A really good afternoon, thank you to the Cathedral for this great offer.
