Well-structured museum. In a castle, which is always a nice bonus.

It's good for Taunton. I wasn't expecting much as Taunton is quite a small town but it has romans, dinosaurs and a bit on the death penalty as well as a cafe and people in dress.

Worth a trip if you're in the area.

Set out lovely, and the union Jack display in the military museum was an original way of showing the story through the ages.

Staff have set up several children friendly exhibitions and tasks. My 3 and 5 year old spent a great morning doing a trail. The exhibits are clear and well displayed, with interest for all ages.
The pleiosaur is a treat.
I have visited several art exhibitions and also an evening lecture on traditional (pre-Victorian) Christmas carols. Everything is low key but well done.

Lovely experience visiting the museum. We, my husband and I, visited the place early during the week so we had the place all to ourselves.

Not as much information available as I thought there would have been. The lovely lady that works there pointed us in the direction of another place near by that she believed would also of be of interest to us but we called them to double check for availability due to covid but they weren't showing anything. Such a shame. We were hoping to find out more about jellalabad barracks during the second world war. With all that history in Taunton I thought more of it would have been available in the museum. If anyone else knows where we can go to find out some information, please let me no.
