Fab way to spend a couple of hours for children and adults alike. It's free, a donation is very welcome but it's not pushed! Enjoy.

Fantastic Museum. Well worth a visit. Spent 2 and a half hours there and could have spent more time but the car parking ticket was about to expire. If in this area in the future we will definitely go back again.

Lots for children to get involved in. Very interesting. My grandaughter enjoyed tThe Horrible Histories and drawing event outside in the ground. Thought the Saxon house and talk on the history of the ruins grandaughter was very interested and thrilled to be able to do some archery.

A super covid safe experience today with the addition of meeting illustrator, Annabel Tempest, and seeing the Martin Brown Horrible Histories display! Caring staff, especially in the court yard to welcome you and check you in. Yummy coffee in the courtyard afterwards. Yet another fabulous visit. Thank you!

Nice little museum that’s located in castle square in Taunton city centre, free entry although a donation is requested which to be fair is well deserved as it is small but packed with information and knowledgeable guides. Very friendly staff

Very modern museum inside a hall from the 1200s where many major historical events have taken place. The style is to focus on fewer outstanding pieces in a thematic manner. The museum has a number of world class items that justify this approach. Has a slightly expensive cafe and regular exhibitions. The current international photography one is excellent, despite the relentlessly woke burblings on the descriptions. Very rarely do they add anything to the striking visual images, images that stand up for themselves and explain themselves well anyway.

Extensive museum with a wide range of exhibits and plenty of context, audiovisual displays, art installations etc.

Complete with very good cafe with courtyard seating, including shade umbrellas and some under cover.
