Have visited this area many times for its spectacular views and fabulous walks of which there are many. If you time it right for the tides it is a great place to lose yourself rock pooling and beach combing great fun for the young and old. The cliffs themselves are beautiful any light. Have had the pleasure of watching the sunset with a picnic and a glass of wine.
the National trust are doing a grand job on the conservation front and returning the vegetation to its natural state. There is a lovely little cafe where you can get some sustenance and on occasion they sell doggy ice cream too.
Well worth a visit I consider myself extremely lucky to live close by that I can visit regularly.

Came on the Hop On Hop Off bus from Eastbourne (£7-50 seniors or £10 adult). Also possible on the Brighton & Hove bus no 12.
We visited the national Trust giftshop for a very nice cup of tea and cake.

We were lucky with a sunny day and the views were spectacular. Do go into the visitor centre to get a sense of how the cliffs have eroded over the years. The cafe looked like the usual national trust fare but was big and decorated with a nautical theme and you could sit outside looking over the sea

We started at Beechy Head and then drove down to the Birling Gap! It was such a wonderful view all the way across the coast. It was so refreshing and a really lovely day out. The gap itself was a nice contrast from the high cliffs! I highly recommend and suggest giving yourself a whole day too to explore the whole park!

Walking the Severn Sisters with the sea on one side and challenging hills and dips, is one of the most pleasurable things to do.

Great sand and cliff views up here. A fairly easy short walk from Beachy Head. Be careful by the cliffs.

We walked from Eastbourne town up to Beachy Head and onto Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters. Footpaths are easy to follow and is a very pleasant steady walk. It was a lovely clean sunny day so the views across the channel, beaches and cliffs were fabulous. It would be sensible to wear walking/hiking shoes, although any comfortable sensible sturdy shoes/trainers would be fine if dry.
There is a National Trust shop and café and some toilets at Birling Gap, plenty of choice to chose from and reasonably priced.

What a place. What a shame it keeps disappearing! Go quick while you still can. Haven’t been a few years and was saddened to see how much as gone.

We hiked from 7 Sisters to Birling Gap. The views were amazing. A great way to see the cliffs. The beach was great too. We feasted on blackberries 😃.

when the tide is out, it uncovers a beautiful sandy beach, shallow and tranquil.
perfect for sunset, but the cafe closes at 6 pm.

We parked at the National Trust car park for an affordable £1.50 for 1 hour (it’s free for NT members). Good job we had cash though as cards are not accepted. Slightly disappointing for the 21st century!

It was slightly overcast with light cloud, but this did not diminish the spectacular views. Simply wonderful. Unfortunately not beach weather, but we’d be tempted to try again another time.

The National Trust visitor centre is wonderful with terrific volunteers. As the coast line is eroding rapidly, they will lose it in the next few years. If the steps are open to the beach, you can get a wonderful view of the cliffs.

We parked on national trust car park as we are a member so got free parking a great saving on this of around £7.

Lovely trust tea room and clean toilets. Gift shop with some great items.

We could go down to the beach by the steps which is a lovely view of the cliffs.

Stunning views and great scenery our walk was hard work in some parts as very steep hills but all worth it.

Lovely little ice cream shop with few sandwiches and drinks by the lighthouse. Lovely man who was working there.

Hadnt been to Birling Gap for quite a while & arrived to find the Birling Gap Hotel is now a National Trust visitor centre. A lovely coffee shop providing a wide range of drinks & cakes etc, also very nice light lunches. The shop is packed with various goodies & you can spend a good amount of time looking in there. To be honest I didn't think the exhibition looked as if it would take long, silly me, we were in there for 2 hours & it was fantastic. We both learnt a great deal. One thing that st ood out was the staff & volunteers, very friendly & knowledgeable throughout. The only thing I can say that isn't superb, is that the car park ideally needs surfacing as its a bit uneven for those with mobility issues. That's a minor point though & its a super place to visit.

Visited on a Sunday morning on the way back from an over night stay in Eastbourne. Parking meters which scan your national trust membership or coins. Great views from the top of the cliff and a lovely blow about walk when gusty. Beautiful to see all the cliffs and scenery. Popped into the cafe for tea and cake. National trust gift shop was full of treasures too. We are blessed to have this beautiful countryside and coast line.

We parked at the Seven Sisters Information Centre and it was a long walk out to see the Seven Sisters. View was great but allow hour and a half return walk at a steady pace, plus viewing time.

We trekked the seven sisters hills upto Eastbourne. It's an easy trek but a long one! the lifesaver is Birling Gap where you can sit and rest. Grab a bite/drink etc!
There are steep stairs down to the beach at Birling Gap. If you are found of fossils this is for you, You must be very careful while walking down and exploring the area. When the tide is right out some sand is exposed, otherwise, it is a pebble beach.
You can have halfway view of the Seven sisters hills.

There are steep stairs down to the beach at Birling Gap. It's a great beach for looking for fossils, but care must be taken as the chalk cliffs are prone to falling. When the tide is right out some sand is exposed, otherwise it is a pebble beach. The far left of the beach when looking at the cliffs tends to be a naturist area.

Simply Beautiful!

Birling Gap (which is about 1 hour 20 minute bus ride) from Brighton bus station. Take Bus 13x and get off at the Birling Gap stop directly to view the Seven Sisters hills. If you want to do a one way walk of about 40 minutes then get off at the East Dean bus stop and walk towards Berling Gap. While returning take you can take the bus straight from the Berling Gap bus stop.

From Cuckmere Haven all the way along to Eastbourme there is a succession of hills and beaches which are breathtaking - especially on clear day. Even if you're simply out for a drive, the views are great along his stretch of coastline. Birling Gap gets quite busy - although there is plenty of parking, when the tide is high there isn't a great deal of beach but then it's possible to walk up the hills and catch some of those views. I haven't walked the coastal path but am sure there are plenty of other websites and pictures which can guide you through this!
