I have driven past this plenty of times and never visited.. Beautiful scenery.. Don't leave it too long for a visit as the cliff is gradually eroding by 0.7m a year.
National trust shop there and cafe and toilets.

The shop is wonderful for all sorts as well! Exhibition and Cafe are good too (there was a piece of sea sponge but our dog ate it!)
Brilliant photo opportunity. 😍

the place is fabulous for lid to rockpool. we went this year but unfortunately the cliff was falling so the beach was close. despite this we went to the coastguard house and the view was fabulous. kids still enjoyed running after the waves and colecting seashells...

You can park for free on the side of the road if you're not a National Trust member. The coastal path between Birling Gap and Belle Tout lighthouse is lovely. There's a small snackbar at the lighthouse which is actually a B&B. At Birling Gap itself, there's a cafe, shop and info centre which is very informative.

We visited Birling Gap and you can certainly get a good view of the Seven Sisters. It was easy to park too.

The gap is run by the National Trust and it is shoddy - the tea rooms/Shop could do with a returb whist the viewing point just above the beach is amateur.

This place gets very busy the car park is free if you are a National Trust member.
I found it not to bad to get about and the views are stunning . There is a shop a café and visitors centre. If you are able you can use the steps onto the beach .
A great place on a hot day out.

You must go here, if you visit Eastbourne. Take the open top bus and pay a brief visit here and then hop on the bus again 30 minutes later. It's very interesting!

We parked at the Visitor Centre at Exceat, caught the 13A bus to Birling Gap & then walked backed over the Seven Sisters. A very enjoyable walk.

We visit here a lot, especially as my wife's nan was born here. It is a National Trust property so, the shop and cafe are a little expensive. They are chalk cliffs and extremely unpredictable with, several rock falls recently.. People are warned not to walk or sit near/on the edge byt, we still see some doing just that. The beach is stony but pleasant and ride times are posted on the platform above it.

A great spot to see the Sussex coastline from a dramatic perspective, with a small cafe and information centre on hand. A short but worthwhile diversion.

Best viewed from short walk +part DDA from south hill barn carpark via Seaford.drive past golf course. The views from there are fantastic and only a short walk down to beach for more able past coastguard cottages.

I went with my daughter and two grandsons, armed with nets and buckets. After a few safety announcements we descended the staircase to the rocks. My younger grandson strode over the rocks like an intrepid explorer but the rest of us went more gingerly. Patrick, the main guide, was very helpful and managed to retrieve elusive crabs from obscure places and to give us interesting information about the different creatures that had been discovered and transferred to the display trays. After that we had lunch in the cafe. Unfortunately we didn't realise that there was a kid's menu until after we had ordered, as we went by the board rather than the menu, but three out oo the four of us were happy anyway! All in all, a very enjoyable morning out!

Truly amazing views and plenty of paths to stroll on. Hikers paradise! If you come by your own car, notice that the parking costs.

I normally would not go to a beach but birling gap was different. Owned by the National Trust it has an excellent cafe, shop and exhibition. I went three times. On the first occasion I walked the length of the seven sisters, the next two I sat on the beach listening to the waves, families having fun and reading / sunbathing. What was of interest was the fact that on each occasion the beach was different. The power of the waves moved pebbles and revealed sand each day so where I sat on visit two was not where I would want to sit on visit three because the cobbles were bigger.

Good place to stop and view the cliffs and sea. Cafe okay but not cheap! Tourist prices. Quite busy with a couple of coaches and buses of overseas teenagers. But area big enough to absorb all.

We parked the car in the National Trust car park, reasonably priced for 4 hours. We set off up the hill along the cliffs and walked to Beachy head. The views of the coast were stunning. We took a slightly different route back through meadows with wild flowers and butterflies. We had coffee and cake in the café when we got back and a look in the shop which had a good selection of gifts at reasonable prices.

Been here many times.
Always busy but a good place to stop after a good walk.Even worth a trip out for a Cuppa and a piece of cake.
The national trust bit is very interesting and well worth a look.
Not the cheapest cafe but pleasantly enjoyable.

We live locally and this is the place to go to blow the cobwebs away. Spectacular views over the sea and along the Seven Sisters.
The National Trust cafe is worth going into, good shop, nice cafe, reasonable food and a small museum.

My family of four ventured out to Birling Gap on a cloudy windy day and it was still majestic. There is ample pay parking near the cafe and visitor center and an easy walk down the wooden stairs to the beach. Its a great place for pictures or a great place just to sit and look out at the sea and up and down the coast. Most places along the cliffs don't offer such easy access to the beach. This is a place you will remember.

We walked pretty much all day heading out of Eastbourne after breakfast and over Beachy Head and then to Birling Gap.
There's the NT cafe here where you can grab food, drinks and use toilets, it's busy as there's parking there.
Heading over Seven Sisters there are plenty of steep gradients to keep you on your toes.
Quite a work out to head out and back.
On the way back we stopped at the Beachy Head pub which was much needed.
Round trip for us was around 18 miles from our central Eastbourne hotel.

We walked from Eastbourne to the Birling Gap and we had a well deserved break. This is a great location which is accessible by car, bus or bike and you must visit the village of East Dean if you get this far.
