This is a great site. We visit regularly. We use the road outside of the car park to leave the car and wander to the rock pools. They are lovely and at low tide it looks like a moonscape. The beach is secluded and well looked after and you can even find fossils here. The kids love it, hence we love it.

Wandered down from the Seaford side with the dog and a grey overcast afternoon. Stunning scenery much enjoyed. Will probably walk up the river to the pub next time

Had a day to myself in Eastbourne whilst my partner was at a conference. Packed a picnic in my bag and went for a run along the cliffs towards Seven Sisters country park. Stopped at Birling Gap for a snack and a drink. Some beautiful scenery along the way, ended up with a half marathon, and over 3,000 feet of elevation gain... Job done!

A lovely place to visit overlooking the coastline. You can sit outside at the tea rooms and enjoy the views.

Good place to take the kids and the pebble beach is accessible (when not high tide) and the free National Trust exhibition is fascinating. It shows the historic and ecological importance of the Seven Sisters, with the 'longshore drift' helping to protect the beaches of the nearby resorts of Seaford and Eastbourne. Many war-time photos and items, too, with a modern section about the changes in global warming.
Fossils can be found in the chalk rocks on the beach, and swimming is possible, with footwear. Great place for a picnic on a sunny day. The cafe is good value.

I have ventured far and wide but never had I stepped foot near our countries white cliffs let alone on them! Breathtaking to say the least! Parking was some what of a challenge due to the high temperatures and the huge turnout of people. We walked from the gap up and down and up and down a few of the cliffs just remember you have to make it back! It's far!

We were looking for breakfast in the area which was like hens teeth. Here we got bacon rolls which were large and satisfying but a bit pricey.
The ordering system was odd too and locating the toilets seemed a mission even though they are central in the place one staff member I asked was at a loss to tell me which way to go!
Clean and tidy with highchairs to hand but a bit stuffy on what was a mild day as no windows were open or openable.

Drove on here from Beachy Head. Well worth the stop. The view of the Seven Sisters is an amazing view. The National Trust Cafe was just what we needed, had a nice ice cream and a stroll along the stoney beach. The steps up and down to the beach are a job and the beach is stoney with big pebbles so I would advise that you wear so suitable shoes for these conditions The view from the beach is so much better so it was worth the climb.

We walked from main car park up to view point. Then on top of cliffs. Views are out of this world. Coastal breeze on cliffs great. Can see for miles on clear day. Absolutey superb. Sea lashing on shore heavenly. 😊😊😊😊

My kids and I always live the Birling gap for its beach, rock pooling, the magnificent views of the Seven Sisters and the visitor centre.
This is run by the National Trust so free parking if you are a member.
The visitor centre is so much fun and very informative. My kids love it!
The reason I didn't give five stars is because the walks along the cliffs are very dangerous with young kids. It's just too easy to go over the cliff edge.

The car park was full..the roads leading to the car park were full and droves of people were walking and cycling towards billing gap....its pretty but not worth that kind of hassle.

Walked from Eastbourne to Birley Gap and have to say one of the best walks in England, Beachy Head is a special place and the views are awesome looking down at Eastbourne.

As part of our annual camping at Normans Bay we pop over to the Seven Sisters to see what has changed. The cliffs never stay still year on year. A lovely place to take a stroll - or much more of a strenuous ramble if you desire - big open spaces. Always use the stairs to get down to the beach, as long as the tide is out & it looks safe enough. Madam takes her regular paddle in the beach surf, which never fails to reinvigorate her spirits. Great place

The views were better from here than up at Beachy Head in our view and it was great being able to park for free as a National Trust member. There are good contrasts with walks on the cliffs, down to the beach and the Severn Sisters area.

A remarkable slice of English landscape at its very best. The Seven Sisters walk from the gap is more demanding than a stroll in the countryside, but rewards with epic views and land/seascapes. Cliffs eroding at 30-40cm a year, so get a look whilst you can!

I have lived in Sussex for over 30 years, but never been to the area around Beachy Head - I thought it was all hype, How wrong I was, it is truely beautiful, even better on a sunny day. We ate at the cafe at Birling gap - that was disappointing and very expensive for what it was (4 toasties and coffees Β£30), The toilets in the cafe had a long queue, so we visited the ones in the car park.. that left a lot to be desired, but we wouldn't let it spoil our day. If you find yourself anywhere close, you absolutely must visit this area, you will not be disappointed.

Spent a couple of hours here, very nice sitting in the sunshine eating a picnic. The complex has a cafe serving a range of cakes and drinks, at reasonable prices. There is a gift shop which sells a good range of items, and a visitor centre telling you all about the area. National Trust are available to answer any questions in addition to providing walking maps. There is a set of stairs leading down to the beach which is grey shingle but is quite sheltered. There are various walks along the cliffs (Seven Sisters) in both directions. Beachy Head is only a couple of miles along the cliff top path. There are toilets available and ample car parking for which I considered a reasonable charge. Certainly a place I would visit again.

We had a great time walking the Seven Sisters, seeing Birling Gap and Beachy Head! We took a bus (nr. 12 or 12A) from Eastbourne to the beginning of the walk at the Seven Sisters national park and walked all the way on the cliffs to Eastbourne (about 4.5 hours). The hike is not very difficult and you won't need any special gear, just comfortable shoes and suncream, but keep in mind it's very hilly at some points so it's overall quite tiring. Also bring snacks and water. The views are spectacular and it's definitely worth all the effort.

Beachy Head and Birling Gap are probably known internationally as a beauty spot, and it truly deserves that accolade but unfortunately it means folk from all over the globe are turning up to experience it, which makes it a little less spectacular.
Fortunately we'd stopped at Alfriston Clergy House on the way, and the friendly guide there suggested we walk from Birling Gap *away* from Beachy Head - and glad we did as the crowds very quickly thinned out so it felt much more special.
It was a hot day when we went but on the clifftops in the wind it was still quite chilly so have sleeves, or a light jacket to hand!
