The view here is amazing that I cannot expect more than this! You should visit here if you are around London for a while. Only 50min train ride from London to Brighton and then 60min bus to Birling Gap. It's definitely worth it!

Nice little beach. The cliffs are very dramatic. You can get a bus from Eastbourne from outside the pier. The beach is pebble so be sure to bring something to sit on or if like me you have a fat bum you might be okay.

I took the open-top bus from Eastbourne & hopped off several times. This is a National Trust centre and very popular. A good Café and information centre. Staircase to the pebbly beach - rather high. Worth stopping to visit.

We walked the whole coast line and enjoyed the section from Cuckmere Haven to Birling Gap the most - scenery most dramatic and quieter than stretches further along the coast. Stunning scenery - a must visit location in the UK.

Birling Gap and the Seven Sisters is a unique natural phenomenon. A must see sight on the south coast of the UK.

Probably the best spot to view "the seven siters" (group of cliffs that bear that name) is from the pebble beach beneath the stairs of Birling Gap at low tide. But even on a windy day and high tide views are spectacular

This is the location to see the Seven Sisters. You pay about £1 per hour to park or it's free for National Trust members. You can access the beach and the rock pools or walk the cliff tops. Very nice.

Beautiful scenery. I walked up to Belle Tout Lighthouse. It is a beautiful walk, but stay well away from the cliff edges, it got very windy!

Great views outside, of the beach and coves. The sea was a beautiful turquoise blue as it was really sunny.
We ate in the cafe after looking at the pictures and slides of the receding cliffs etc. and an amazing video show of the falling cliff in 2006.

We visited Birling Gap on the hop on, hop off bus. It is a popular and dramatic location on the Sussex Downs that is well maintained by English Heritage. Dependent on your level of hardiness, you can slumber around the cliffs or sit and relax with some light refreshment in the cafe.

This area is great but so disappointing that every small parking area was fitted with a pay and display machine. Isn't one big enough near the main building ? Greedy !!!

While starting on the 7 sisters walk from eastbourne, birling gap is a good pit stop to refresh and recharge.
The point has fantastic views of the 7 sisters , ( the best view is from cuckmere Haven though )
There is a restaurant and cafe for lunch /coffee / pint and also a tourist information centre / gifts shop
The bus stop is 2min walk for those who are tired and want to take the bus back to Eastbourne .

This is a great place for a walk and seeing beautiful views and taking beautiful photos. It is also very high up so makes you feel risky and free. Do not hang your legs over though and the cliff edge is not as strong as it looks and can fall at any time.

Beautiful place. Make sure you go to the toilet before you head off.

There are so many fabulous walks in this area. The walk along the cliffs from Beachy Head to Birling Gap is one of the best. Truly stunning. I was very grateful to find excellent amenities there too. Coffee shop, gift shop and toilets.

This is a great walk on the stone beach during low tide to see and take in the enormity of the white cliffs.

Well worth a visit. National Trust run with a gift shop, tea room (-with good coffee and bacon rolls! and toilets. Fantastic viewpoint towards Beachy Head and appeared a popular place for families and coach parties. The beach is accessed via steps from the viewing platform. Beach has a mix of rock-pools, sand and stones and is sheltered by the cliffs. Sadly, not accessible for anyone with mobility problems.

It's a 5 minute drive from Beachy Head and about a 30 minute walk along the cliffs. Birling Gap gives you a chance to get down to the base of the cliffs and get to the sea. Nice little spot and a good view of the Seven Sisters, although these are always not as dramatic as you hope.

We recently became National Trust members and had seen a Nature Trail was taking place over May Half Term. Plenty of parking (free for National Trust members, otherwise £2.50 for 4 hours or £5 all day). A lovely, friendly guy was standing outside the nature centre handing out the Nature Trail maps, together with magnifying glasses to borrow. We had a brilliant hour or so doing the trail, stopping for a picnic on top of a hill with utterly stunning views. We saw wild strawberries growing, loads of interesting wildlife and the rockpools looked pretty enticing from up on the cliff!
Next time we will be better prepared, with beach shoes, buckets, swimming clothes and nets! With the tide out, there was a massive amount of rockpools. The beach is reached by some sturdy steps down onto the pebbles. Around 5 flights of spiral steps, so not for those unsteady on their feet I would say.
Toilet facilities available, a cafe (which we didn't use) and the gift shop. Easily a complete day out here.
We noticed an open top bus on our walk, which would be a fun way to get there!
Take your kids, they will love it. I loved it too!!

the location is stunning (although your enjoyment will depend on the weather). Sadly there is little on sale for those wanting a picnic on the downs so make sure you buy your provisions before you arrive.

stop here for a snack lunch or tea, indoor and outdoor seating. The gift shop also has a lot of unique finds.
