Not been here for a while now but it has not changed much. There is a row of houses which has gone down from 10 to only 4 now from the crumbling cliff edge. You can walk down to the pebble beach by the stairs and also theres the gift shop, information about the area and a cafe. Plenty of parking which you have to pay on the grounds. Only stayed for half hour but you can make a day of it if you like. Was very crowded as it was half term and also the weather was lovely which brought the crowds in also. Worth a visit if around the area or a pleasent drive out.

Beautiful landscape all the way long. The walk is easy. We went with our 75 years old grand-parents.

National Trust site which was a little disappointing really. Didn't really make out the seven sisters in the rocks

We hiked from Eastbourne pier to birling gap - five hour round trip. Nice souvenir shop & ice cream once you get there. Also toilet facilities available if needed.

Wonderful place to visit with stunning views. There are some great walks in the area. Also part of the National Trust with cafe and shop. There is a good amount of parking.

Spectacular cliffs with a platform for viewing, and steps down to the beach (if low tide). See the 'Seven Sisters', visit the cafe (good), and the little museum where you can see interesting photographs taken over the years, comparing how much of the cliff has been lost by falls and erosion. You can get here on the splendid Hop-On / Hop-Off bus from Eastbourne Pier. Good value, particularly on Mondays where there is a reduction.

If you like taking photos, appreciate nature and all that it offers, then you will enjoy visiting Birling Gap. Wide open spaces, miles of endless ocean and those white cliffs are stunning. I parked on the verge of the road not that far from the cafe and the start of the walk to the lighthouse (which is a surprise in itself). The walk to the lighthouse is not arduous and well worth the walk. Mind you I had a beautiful sunny day.
The cafe is overpriced and the unisex toilet in the cafe was in dire need of attention. If you continue along Beachy Head road you will come to the Beachy Head Pub. Looked lovely, but didn't visit. Instead stopped in the car park and walked over to the cliffs and was rewarded with a great view of Eastbourne.

Birling gap has such breathe-taking view and we went on a weekday afternoon so it's not too crowded

very different from places we visited in cotswold areas or Scottish highlands, Birling Gap is another kind of unique scenery you don't wanna miss when you are visiting England, will highly recommend to all tourists!

and it's not just for adults, my 3 years old kid had so much fun by the seaside too. Would be a great day out for whole family :)

Great beauty spot. Very windy at times. Ideal for nature lovers and walkers. Scenic landscape in danger because of erosion.

We loved Birling Gap! The view of the cliffs is amazing. Be sure you wear good footwear as the pebble beach can be tricky to walk on. Plan to spend a few hours exploring the area.

We were travelling along the A259 and foung Birling Gap, we found some free parking at the side ofthe road and walked over to look at the views, lots of walkers and beautiful views. Take windproof coat as very exposed and be very careful of cliff top walks near to cliffs. Should have spend longer but we were en route from Eastbourne to Brighton.

Not a great beach but okay, for views and walking very good. There was a nice cafe with helpful staff by the car park. Would think parkiung could be difficult in high season but when we went mid May it was easy enough to park.

The white cliffs at Birling Gap are so beautiful especially against the backdrop of the placid ocean and dramatic clouds. The crashing waves and the frigid wind counter-pose the timelessness of this imposing geological structure.

There is a National Trust restaurant with limited fare, but good. Lovely place for walking. Steps go down to the beach.

We have been going to Birling Gap for nearly 10 years and since the National Trust has introduced the eatery we have enjoyed using this facility but NO to the trial disposable crockery and cutlery . This is for fast food outlets . We do not want these blowing about outside or would want to use them . They are not a answer to green issues as the best policy is to wash rather then recycle .

We loved Birling Gap. It is a true English treasure. The cliffs at truly breathtaking. Birling Gap has something for everyone: a nice restaurant with outside seating, an inviting shop, plenty of parking, a good walk up to the Seven Sisters and sturdy stairs down to the beach. It was a magnificent start for our family holiday around England. Congratulations to the National Trust.

Great walk from Seven Sisters park to Birling Gap, awesome views as you cross the sisters . Great place to explore the downs and see the wildlife and birds, don't get to near the cliffs as you can see where chunks have dropped away .
