We walked to Birling from Eastbourne and then across Seven Sisters. We stopped for coffee in the lovely cafe and looked at the interesting visitor centre. We also received very good advice on our walking route. Great place to visit

Pebble beach but beautiful coastline. A small cafe is there to take care of your basic necessities. Great place to spend a few hours. However, it is difficult to get here if you do not have your own transportation. But it is worth the trouble. Water did not seem suitable for swimming though.

Dramatic, stony, good tea room at end, definitely worth a visit. You can walk from here to Beachy Head passing the lighthouse on the way

The white cliffs between Brighton and Eastbourne are much more impressive than Dover. You can access the beach and cliffs at the lookout. Theee is a cafe and a walking track to Beachy head light house

Interesting but I wouldn't go out of my way to visit.

Excellent views of seven sisters coast line.
Steps to the beach looks like mostly flint pebbles. You can walk next to the chalk cliffs.
Toilets / cafe and shop.
Parking is £1 for a hour etc
It was busy they have a over fill car park that was full as well. I saw cars parking on the road ( they are hot on parking )
The only thing that nearly made me turnaround was flys they were everywhere one car was totally covered in them.

I thought the views from the cliffs were fantastic. There's a private lighthouse on one side which is a nice walk. The cafe has lovely cakes and wifi. Quite a few buses with tourists. Dogs are welcome in the cafe.

Beauty spot with beach reached by scaffolding steps from top of cliff. Fascinating to see the coastguard cottages- whose nunber has been drastically reduced by erosion. Fascinating display in N.T shop of predicted demise of all the cottages in 40 years time.
Take coffee or a meal with beautiful view of "The Seven Sisters".

Lovely to park the car & just view the Seven Sisters white cliffs from here or you can walk along the beach or along the cliff tops. Fabulous views.
Great National Trust shop & cafe & exhibition. Well worth a visit.

We took the Coaster 12 bus from Brighton to East Dean crossing the Seven Sisters Country Park in order to visit Birling Gap.. It is a 11/2 mile walk from East Dean Bus Stop..

Birling Gap offers great views of the sea and the chalk cliffs.

We usually take our foreign students to see Beachy Head and Birling Gap. The views are spectacular and if the tide is out there are many rock pools to explore.A nice cafe for refreshments. Well worth a visit

Walking from the seaford side to birling gap gives amazing views of the white cliffs known as the seven sisters.
It really is well worth the effort, don't forget your camera!

A good vantage point to look along the coast and up to the cliffs. The steps down are good but the beach is quite hard to walk on being a pebble beach

On a crisp and brilliantly clear October Sunday morning we decided to drive from Eastbourne to Beachy Head. The tide was out quite a long way which meant you could take the steps down from the wooden observation deck and stroll along the stony beach (safe distance from the cliffs). Absolutely stunning views, majestic white cliffs and beautiful blues of the sea. A souvenir shop and cafe by the cliff side car park (£1.00) provided a nice hot chocolate break before walking up the path along the cliff tops. What a view ! Could have walked for much further than we did, but even so, a thoroughly recommended morning out.

Great beach for exploring rock pools with the kids but not easily accessible for those with walking difficulties as there are lots of steep steps to go donw to get to the beach. But there is a good NT cafe at the top of the clliff for grandparents if necessary.

Birling Gap provides lovely views, especially when the sun is shining. We walked towards Beachy Head for an hour or so, really nice walk. Also liked the National Trust shop and exhibition by the car park.

This is a wild place. On the day we visited the wind was howling and the waves were crashing, but for a few minutes now and again the sun lit up the chalk cliffs. Exhilarating!

I couldn't help thinking of that famous quote from Richard II:
This royal throne of kings, this sceptred isle,
This earth of majesty, this seat of Mars,
This other Eden, demi-paradise,
This fortress built by Nature for herself
Against infection and the hand of war,
This happy breed of men, this little world,
This precious stone set in the silver sea,
Which serves it in the office of a wall
Or as a moat defensive to a house,
Against the envy of less happier lands,--
This blessed plot,
This earth,
This realm,
. . . This England.

Go and gaze at Nature's England!

No matter what time of the year you visit, you are assured of a spectacular view, but go late afternoon/early evening and catch the sunset and you will be amazed, Eapvery day it's different, stunning views, stunning clouds and breathtaking scenery. Nip down to the beach, study the cliffs, the rocks and the lighthouse is reachable when the tide is out, take a picnic or have a bar-be, you won't regret it. oh an take a camera!

On a bright day, in the sunshine, the cliffs stand out tall and white against a bue sky. Breathtaking. The remains of a long time under water, they stretch for a long way along the coast and over to France. The beach is shingle, but the view along the coastline is unrivalled and it is easier to see here than at Dover. At the top is free parking and a very good National Trust cafe, shop and small museum.

Ever since seeing Birling Gap on a tv programme I had wanted to visit.
Well I was not disappointed.
We stayed in East Dean (5min drive away, but easy to walk to if you want)
Plenty of parking when you reach there in Nat Trust car park or if lucky there is some road parking.
A great Nat Trust cafe/shop at the top of the cliff, perfect for a cuppa after a walk on the beach.
They have built a viewing platform for better views of the Cliffs & it also enables you to walk down onto the beach.
The beach itself is very pebbly (lovely interesting pebbles though). Each time we visited we checked tide times first & went when tide was out. This gave some sand the further you walked out, but also some great rock pools.
We visited in the early September heatwave so the views of Seven Sisters Cliffs from the beach were amazing. In one visit though the clouds came over to give a truly spectacular sight.
At each of our visits it was not overrun with visitors, however I would guess during July/Aug it is packed.
I definitely look forward to visiting again.
