Birling gap... i can't even describe the feeling when i first saw it... absolutely beautiful! if you love nature and the wonders of nature, don't miss out on visiting this! there is a small restaurant at the top, to refresh yourself. You could spend hours here on the beach, or wandering the nearby fields!

A great little place to take a rest whilst walking the South Downs Way, with a well stocked National Trust shop and a great cafe.

Nice place for morning or afternoon tea. Good national trust shop and information centre about the rock erosion. Quiet stoney beach with different colour rocks as backdrop. Pay to park.

Beautiful view over the Seven Sisters, easy parking, coffee shop now run by National Trust and really nice.
Take the stairs down to the beach and enjoy the rock pooling or a sit down and watch the waves
Often windy so take a jumper

Love this beautiful setting. It's great for a walk but also fun to go rock pooling. The scenery is beautiful. The beach is also good for surfing. Step metal staircase from the car park to the beach, and it's often windy on the top (in the car park) but not in the beach.

The National Trust restaurant and shop at Birling Gap make a good stop if you are walking along the South Downs Way. Ample space to park a car if you are just visiting this location. The coastal view is splendid, best, however, on a clear day. The chalk cliffs are majestic.

Park here and walk, if you can, away from the National Trust shop. It becomes breathtaking. A camera will not do it justice but a picnic will.

This is lovely place to walk on the South Downs, with great views.

It's also a good place for kids to explore as you can make all sorts of interesting finds on the beach, especially cuttlefish, shells and creatures such as crabs when the tide is far enough out.

Came here today and finally managed to park! Very busy but worth the parking fee! Amazing walk along the cliffs and up to the lighthouse, had a ice cream on a cliff on a sunny day with breathe taking views! Amazing! The cafe was busy but very nice inside! Amazing place I highly recommend :)

This is a great location for walking with good view of the chalk cliffs and lighthouses. Because of its location it can be quite windy. You can also climb down some stairs to the beech below the national trust building.

Came to Birling Gap with the kids and dog for a half day. Lovely to meander around, view the cliffs up close, do some rock pooling. We then went back up to the coffee shop (National Trust) and sat outside in the sun and had some snacks. Car Park free for NT members, every clean and tidy as you would expect with NT. Lovely drive in and out. Cant believe we have lived within an hour for the last 7 years and not discovered this little jem!

Well worth a visit just to see the views of the cliffs to the east and west. Parking at £1 per hour ( national trust) is OK allows time to walk up the hill to the lighthouse, the one that was moved back from the cliffs some 15 plus years ago.
Beware there is a National Trust cafe at this location that is expensive for what you get 2 bacon baps a tea and coffee over £ 11, ( compare 2 traditional breakfast a tea and coffee at Wetherspoons in Eastbourne the following day for £8.60)

Just a flying stop here. Very nice! Wanted to look more at the cottages left as some have been reclaimed by the sea but you can see them behind a picket fence. Def would suggest these are opened, if safe of course, and if not s plaque put up to say why not and a photo of what they were?

The best place to start a walk in seven sisters.
We parked there, if you are national trust member is free, anyway is the cheapest car park along the road. 2,5£ 4hrs.
There are toilets, shops, coffee, food an information center and stairs to go down to the beach.

This is a beautiful spot. It has a really nice chilled vibe. Surfers are often hitting the waves. Families enjoying bbq's. People taking photos and just chilling taking in the vista and great sunsets. The national trust cafe is very smart and has some nice ales or cream teas!

One of my all-time special places, over the 40 years I have been visiting, the changes are saddening and worrying. Please make the effort to see this amazing coastline while you can.

Wonderful views and walks any time of the year. Keep away from the cliff edge as it's crumbling. A beautiful wild space that never feels crowded.

This has to be one of the all-time classic views of the southern British coastline. An absolute beauty spot, although depending on when you go -?if the weather is good or in the holidays there can be quite a few people around. Great National Trust shop and tea rooms for snack as well.

If you are in the area you must go and have a look at what nature can do to the landscape. It is very well organised with a shop and café, parking may be a bit of an issue at times but it is in a really beautiful location with lots of walking sightseeing opportunities around.

I visit Birling Gap regularly and have done so for the past 30 years. In this little cove the full weight of the worst storms is thrown against the chalk cliffs and the results have been catastrophic for local residents as huge amounts of cliff are battered away in every big storm. Go and take a look there is an NT visitors center, car park and cafe with a history of the area in a well presented display. You can get down to the beach on a good day and walk east to Eastbourne and west to Seaford over the Seven Sisters if that is your interest. Great for all ages and very different through the year.
