We found this a great place to spend a couple of hours- walking and enjoying the views, visiting the National Trust shop and tea shop and the excellent Information Centre.

Stunning views. Lovely rock pools. Great for a walk.
Not suitable for physically challenged people as a stair case to get to the beach but the coffee shop at the top is lovely, enjoys good views and has good simple food.

Not exactly an easy walk but if you are a nature lover then this is for you. If the weather is fine/warm/ dry then all is okay. Watch out for sea mists which can rather obscure the views. Not an easy walk, but it can be enjoyable.

The tea room and Visitors Centre run by the National Trust are in the old family run Birling Gap Hotel. I'd heard about recent erosion of the cliffs but was shocked just how much has gone in the last 25 years. A metal scaffold staircase takes you to the beach or a clifftop viewing platform. This is an excellent place to see the power of the sea, and one that you should visit soon the erosion is that fast.

Really beautiful coastline - had lovely hike along the coastline before reaching Burling Gap. What a glorious end for a walk. We walked down to the beach and enjoyed the sunshine. Lovely flint beach, great to relax and rest. Back up the wood ladder, you can get coffee and ice-cream before continuing on your hike or picking up your car. It was a lovely day of sunshine and amazingly the place was not too crowded.

Turned up at Birling Gap, with hardly any preparation and what a trip it turned out to be. Managed to scale about 10 miles on foot, from the National Trust office to Beachy head and back all the way until Cuckmere Coast Guard cottages. Not an easy walk though, with all the steep climbs but it was an unmissable experience and great fun.

Well worth the visit. Beautiful white cliffs. You park in a car park and just walk down a good few steps and your on the Stoney beach looking at the amazing cliffs. Will be back.

The Seven Sisters is my favourite place in the World. I've been here many times, often on walks with some of my brothers - we have even done the South Downs Way (in separate sections many years ago). I've also walked here with my wife - we used to catch a bus from Brighton to various access points like East Dean, Exceat, Friston and Beachy Head. That was a few years ago because we now live in Spain. However, I regularly return to the UK and often visit this lovely area.
I like all the places in this beautiful area and Birling Gap is no exception. Whenever I've passed this way, I have often stopped for refreshments but I much prefer the Tiger Inn at East Dean.
There are steps down to the beach at Birling Gap but they might not be suitable for the very aged or infirm.
My last visit was in October 2015 with my brother Mike. We did a circular walk from Crowlink taking in Birling Gap and East Dean. Very enjoyable it was too!

A lovely position with NT parking and eatery and gift shop. Stairs down to cliff bottom. Display showing how erosion has affected the area.

Cane here today with kids for a wuick escape from London. There are car parks run by the National Trust I'm not sure whether we had to pay in the overflow carpark but they do charge. There is a cafe doing the usual NT fare and gift shop. The walk along the cliffs was pleasant up to the Lighthouse. The place is very busybwith walkers on a fine day but well worth the visit especially a day trip from London.

We visited Birling Gap on a beautiful sunny day. The drive across from Eastbourne was spectacular. We had a National Trust Tourist Pass which gave us free car parking etc. You can walk out onto a platform and the views are amazing. Cliffs not as high as the White Cliffs Dover but we thought were more spectacular and "whiter". The NT museum and information centre very good as was the shop. Enjoyed the experience very much worth the detour we made to get there.

Excellent views from new platform, good National Trust shop and cafe and excellent information centre that shows where the cliff edge will be in the future. Suggest you visit soon before the sea claims the whole area!

We always enjoy the walk/hike up to Birling Gap, the scenery is just fabulous. For the young and relatively fit folk, try the hike, but there is also the Eastbourne sight-seeing bus which will drop you off at various points over the South Downs

The NT shop and cafe means this place can get very, very crowded on warm , sunny days. But the pebbly beach is great ans it is a good staring point for walks .

Beautiful place to visit, must see. I arrived when there were hoards of tourists who weren't very courteous so that was quite an unpleasant experience but still doesn't take away the charm of this place. Climb down to the beach and get the best photo opportunities there.
