We regularly walk our dogs here. Great views and walks and interesting points after the erosion story that made the news last year. There is also a nice little café to stop in for a cuppa.

Walk along the beach or cliff top both excellent to blow away the cobwebs and then visit the snack bar at the old lighthouse and a deserved rest. Or just enjoy the National Trust Restaurant and watch the waves

The south downs are beautiful and the seven sisters cliffs are particularly majestic. Birling Gap is part of the beauty of this whole area. It is well worth a visit.

This is a great place and something that everyone can enjoy parts off. Up the hill there is a Bed and Breakfast in the Birling Gap old Lighthouse. On a lovely the views are great of the Seven Sisters Cliffs and also Beachy Head Lighthouse. At the bottom there is a car park which you pay for unless you are a national trust member. There is a lovely cafe with inside and outside seating and the views are great. There is a garden which is very peaceful. To get to the beach there are only steps down so only accessible to the able body. But there is a viewing platform so not to be missed.

Wonderful views and scenery. At the top of the cliffs, there is a restaurant and you can even see the house that once stood on the edge. Due to erosion they keep getting moved back or demolished but you can only image what a wonderful place it would've been to live!

We discovered the Birling Gap by chance on a tour bus of Eastbourne. We came back by car and have been coming back now for a few years. The views are amazing, being National Trust ( we are members) is such a lovely place to visit any time of the year. They have a very nice tea room and shop with interesting items. The walk up to the light house is breathtaking , all in all a good day out.

The Birling Gap is mesmerizing with the white walls. A lot of people think that it is the White Cliffs of Dover, but no it isn't. Be prepared to walk a bit as the Gap is quite long and almost in a horseshoe shape. A little cool by the ocean so bring a warm jacket. There is also a small souvenir shop near by. I definitely recommend this most spectacular view.

we went from Eastbourne to Beachy Head and from here here... Was the least beatuful place, too many people around... But still lovely.
You can go ere by public transport from Brighton and Eastbourne, great if you just want an afternoon outside of the city.

There's a pay and display car park, but you can just park on the grass verges

The roads in the surrounding areas approaching the coast are great

lovely view of eroding iconic white cliffs. Sheer drop to shingle beach which shelves steeply making swimming hasardous. Basically, if you have kids who can only just about swim, don't let them there, not even if it's as smooth as a pond : the current is deceptively strong and we saw people having difficulty crawling out of the sea on their hands and knees. Steep steps lead sown to beach. Often lits of tourists there on sunny days. The Mational Trust Info point there is superb. Small cafe. Adequate parking. Nice ramble over cliffs to Beachy Head. Not suitable for buggies or wheel chairs and beware... the cliffs downs are covered in rabbit droppings so nowhere to picnic on grass cleanly, and the place is prone to swarms of flying ants in summer. Lovely views, though.

Usually windy! Good NT cafe & shop. Go visit before it all disappears in the sea! Coastline erosion is gradually taking a one or two at a time from the row of Coastguard cottages.

Good starting out point for heading west towards Beachy Head, or pit stop after walking east from there. Good views of white cliffs, stairs down to the beach and a nice national trust cafe for lunch or tea and cake.

a little desolate but very scenic and we would return if only for the peace and quiet and lovely walks over the downs

Clean facilities, with a shop for food and drink and a restaurant. Parking not too expensive (3 GBP for a half day, 4 GBP for the entire day).

Not for people with vertigo! Excellent view of the cliffs from a viewing platform which leads to steps that go down to the beach. National Trust parking charges apply, but then you have access to cafe, loos and NT shop, with walks along the cliffs. You are able to get close to the edge so be careful.

Went for a lovely walk and finished the trip with a nice picnic. The view is great. Also good because you can go down the steps and sit on the beach. Really worth a visit.

As every year costal erosion means the site is smaller, NT cafe great for a cup of tea and cake while small museum was informative.

Beautful and scenic - great place to stop and relax after walking the Seven Sisters. Shame we forgot our swimming costumes, we would have joined the rest of the crowd on the beach.

Try and spend some time on the beach here, if possible at low tide and in good weather! A beautiful, unspoilt place. There is a good teashop at the top of the stairs.
