Very wild and windy when we visited and it was nice that the visitor centre was manned by volunteers - no cost. Didn't pay for parking either! Amazing to see the cliff erosion.....

There is a visitors centre which had a very interesting display about the cliffs etc. There was also a photographic Exhibition about the surrounding countryside on.

The place has been very much improved, menu very little choice.
Fish and chips expensive as they don't include plaice or cod. Good place for hot soup or coffee and cake. Service a bit dithery.

Came here for the views and we were not disappointed. Utterly amazing and was well worthwhile. Parking was a bit tight. The exhibition was first class.

2014 has seen a dramatic loss of coastline in this wonderful beauty spot. Something like seven years of erosion in three months. Half the houses have gone and the cafe remains under threat. It is a glorious spot, however, with magnificent walks over the cliffs in either direction or back inland to East Dean. The iconic Seven Sisters walk one way or up and over to Beachy Head the other. Stout shoes and a reasonable degree of fitness required! Then there is the National Trust Cafe to delight ansd please with excellent produce, cakes and willing and helpful staff. A little crowded at times it is worth the trouble and the wait for such a special place.

We stopped at Birling Gap after walking the cliffs at Beachy Head and preferred BH. It was much more crowded at BG. The facilities were very nice, shop, cafe. We walked down the stairs to the beach for more pictures. Looks like lots of fun for young children/families.

Nice spot with parking. Good access to the beach and great scenery. Learned a bit about erosion here and was very surprised at how quickly the cliffs are eroding, also highlights the dangers.

Had a lovely walk and a nice sit down here for a few hours. The shop was full of lovely stuff, fairly priced. I can't wait to return.

If you come the way down from the Belle Tout Ligthouse, you see Birling Gag lying beneath with the marvelous white cliffs of “The Seven Sisters” behind it.
It is said that the row of houses in front of you consisted of 10 houses, now only four are left. The other ones are taken down before they collapsed into the sea due to cliff erosion.
A stair leads down to the beach, so you can walk on the cobbles under the high cliffs, beware however of the tide and degrading cliffs, one never knows.
The information center at Burling Gap is also very interesting, pleople are very helpfull and informatieve. An exposition shows ao how the sea will take more land in the future.
The place is also interesting as starting point to walk the Seven Sisters and up the Cuckmere river.

Just a short stop with mum for a look at the stunning view and a quick coffee which was served with a very friendly smile.

nice to see the Sussex flint in its raw state . Visit the area before the next storm as erosion will surely happen

Historical area that has been falling into the sea over the years even recently!

Birling gap is truly beautiful. This is such a wonderful place to view our amazing British coast and glowing white cliffs. If you go when the tide goes out the great reveal is the huge array of bath water warm rock pools. Don't let the wind Blowing put you off venturing onto the beach because here you will find shelter! We also were able to take our dog which was fab!! The national trust centre was really interesting with a shop a decent licenced cafe and a modern exhibition again amazingly All dog friendly! Super.

See Beachy Head review too. Gorgeous, historic white chalk cliffs. It's amazing how the land just drops away. Go when the information center is open. The history of the area is fascinating. If you are a Walter Mathau fan, this is where the last scene in "Hopscotch" was filmed!

Good café and information about coastal erosion is excellent as you would expect from the National Trust.
Hop on and off bus stops here, also car park.

Birling Gap offers a great view over the beautiful cliffs and the sea. The information centre is also interesting to visit, with a nice shop, and also clean toilets if needed. The walk up to the lighthouse is nice, as well as a stroll along the pebble beach looking for beautiful stones and gravels. The cliffs are just majestic from down there. In short, yes it is well worth a visit.

A great place for rock pooling, relaxing on the beach, bbqs, and admiring the beauty of the seven sisters. Owned and run by the national trust parking free to members. Interesting history of the area which is slowly being eroded by the sea as the years go by. National trust cafe with a relaxed atmosphere serving coffee cakes and meals even chips! Not the normal for NT cafe! Good clean toilets plenty of parking. Access to the beach is via steps which could be difficult for some.

We caught the bus to Beachy Head and then did a very enjoyable walk with lovely views to Birling Gap and then caught the bus back to Seaford from there. The 13x runs weekends and public holidays until June, then every day hourly until September.
It is a National Trust area with a Visitors Centre with a lot of information about the area. You can see the Seven Sisters and Seaford Head and there are steps down to the beach. It is a very pebbly beach with a tiny bit of sand mixed amongst the pebbles in a few places. It has surprised us how pebbly the beaches are on the South Coast as we are from Lancashire where our beaches are very sandy. There is a National Trust café.

We weren't sure of the best place to see the Seven Sisters coastline but this was recommended to us and it's easy to see why. There's a large car park metres from the cliffs which is free for National Trust members and cheap for non-members. The cliffs are visible right from the car park with a proper staircase down to the pebbled beach below. There's a cafe and toilet facilities too.

We called in on our way through and had a stroll round and I,m glad we did. A very informative centre can assist your visit and there's plenty of room to park as it does get busy. Best visit on foot via the seven sisters walk and use the facilities along with the cafe to rest.

I prefer to come in winter to experience the anger of the sea and avoid the growing number of people drawn to this strangely fascinating place. So much erosion over a small period of time. Love coming here.
