We stayed here for a few days over my birthday weekend on the recommendation of my friend and generally had a lovely time.

We had a room with a lovely, partial sea view which was great, it was also a really good size and a good sized bathroom with overhead shower. All were clean, the only disappointment with both was that we were unaware of the hotel’s COVID cleaning restrictions so didn’t have anything cleaned or changed during our stay.

Every morning we had breakfast, it was delicious, plentiful and the service was excellent. On arrival, we ate lunch in the lounge area and it was lovely with good service too. The only times we felt disappointed by the service was a couple of times by the outside seating area and pool when the service was slow, quite abrupt and when a waitress brought us Appletizers when we requested Aperol Spritz’ (she then didn’t come back when we said we’d look at the menu for something else!)

The pool was a lovely addition and hidden gem and quite spacious with a nice seating area, changing area and view over the sea.

The hotel is a bit further to walk to the centre and Pier but you are afforded wonderful views and an added bonus in the town of onsite parking!

I do recommend the hotel and would return.

I have never been to the Hydro Hotel before and it was really lovely. I was attending a friend's baby shower with an afternoon tea. The food was really nice and our server was so attentive and friendly! There was so much food left over we were given little boxes to take it home too which was a nice touch.
I will definitely visit again.

We loved it. Had a wonderful time. We went for a swim, had lovely food we took our dogs they were made very welcome.
We really had a relaxing few days.
Definitely will return.
The only criticism was the beer on tap my husband and my brother in law said the beer tasted bitter had a horrible after taste, other guests said the same.

We got married at the Hydro last week and I can’t praise the hotel and staff highly enough. The location is wonderful - the view from the garden terrace is beautiful. The staff were friendly and helpful and everything ran like clockwork. We stayed in the Sussex room for our wedding night and we’re delighted with it. Thank you so much to all of the staff at the Hydro.

Went for a wedding so got room cheaper than normal. Great location, lucky enough to getting parking in hotel carpark. Very busy and great staff. Does need a bit of a clean and painting in some parts and bought up to date a bit ,without losing its grand old hotel feel .food was great .are room on third floor with great view across the sea and very comfortable bed and good selection of free coffee and teas in the room .

The hotel is wonderfully positioned with sea and cliff views. It's clean and pleasant with a generally older, perhaps family, clientele.
The outstanding feature for me is the staff, who are professional, helpful, efficient while being friendly and natural. I can't praise them highly enough.
The breakfast menu is comprehensive and the food is well presented and cooked. For lunch and dinner I used the Conservatory with its good, fresh, nicely and imaginatively presented food; attractive surroundings and great view, of course!

Stayed 3 nights at this well run traditional hotel. Has pool - outdoor not massive but warm. Very comfortable.

Stopped one night after an event at the hotel. It's a little faded in places but the room was very comfortable and breakfast was excellent. Recommended.

I stayed at the hydro hotel for 1 night.
On arriving and supposedly paying in advance the receptionist, in a abrupt manner, told me I hadn't paid. Seemed odd that the hotel website requested my payment card details whilst booking online.
Another friendly receptionist sorted it out with me.

The classic room was small but comfortable, but the bathroom was very small!

Had to wait 10 minutes to be seated for breakfast, but then found my wife's chair back was broken. The staff promptly changed the chair.

Service was slow in the restaurant and seemed to be understaffed.

The breakfast order was slow to be taken and then slow to be served to us and little things like the toast not being toasted and what egg we would prefer just seemed to be lacking on our visit to the Hyro hotel.
Certainly not of 4 star standard.
Disappointing after being recommended this hotel.

It was lovely to be back at this amazing hotel in it's unbeatable location, and great to see things all but back to normal. As usual, the staff could not be more friendly and helpful, the service was excellent and the hotel loses none of its charm. Particular highlights of this trip were time spent in the lovely heated outdoor pool and croquet on the lawn. not to mention a trip up Beachy head on a gloriously sunny day. We will be back!

We had a very nice sea view room with a large bathroom.
The food over our three day stay was very good. Breakfast was excellent and a good choice of dishes for the evening meal.
General service was very good and the hotel was very clean.

This hotel is striving to be sustainable. It has already won the coveted "Plastic Free Champion" award. This is helping our town with our ambition to become carbon neutral by 2030. We had afternoon tea a couple of days ago. Service was exceptional and the food and beverages were of the highest order. The Hydro Hotel is set in a marvelous location with stunning views over the sea and an elegance that will make you feel "at home", welcome and at ease.

We had our wedding at the hydro on 20th of August. Was the best day of my life and something we will never forget. The hotel is stunning with a stunning sea view and the gardens just top it off. All the staff were all very polite and professional cant fault them in anyway. We will definitely be returning in the future and would definitely recommend to anyone that plans on getting married

A proper hotel that has character and individual rooms. The gardens are very well cared for and make a very pleasant place to sit for a drink or meal. The food is good and the service in the restaurant is very friendly and efficient. Great for a short break.

Had a lunch here today prior to a concert. Arrived on time and made it clear to staff that we only had 90 minutes for a three course meal. Service was so slow that we only managed two courses! They did discount the bill but there's no excuse for 25 minutes between starter and main course. The restaurant has gone downhill during lockdown!!

Great afternoon tea in the conservatory. Dont worry about the calories, burn them off with a walk back to Eastbourne Town Centre. Sandwiches, scone and cream, cakes and tea or coffee all for £18.95. Make sure to book.

We stayed for only one night as a celebration of our wedding anniversary. The hotel was easy to find and is in a super position surrounded by gardens and looking out to sea. We booked a side sea view room and were delighted to find it had a large bay window with the promised view. The room itself had obviously been refurbished recently and was very comfortable.
The hotel has its own car park which is a definite advantage in Eastbourne. All the staff managed the difficult feat of being thoroughly professional but also friendly. Service in the restaurant was excellent as was the food.
My only reservation was that it is a long way back up hill from Eastbourne town centre!
