Lovely hotel.
Staff very helpful and polite. The grounds are simply stunning and the views the hotel allows is the cherry on top of the delicious cream tea.

The Wedgewood Room at the Hydro was the perfect setting for us on a beautiful summer evening for our BAFTA celebration party and everything was exactly what we needed and more!
The catering, facilities and service provided for us were exemplary. The room that my husband and I stayed in (room 209) had a beautiful sea view which we were definitely not expecting and our only complaint was that we could not stay for a 2nd night! Breakfast was fantastic and the staff enabled us to finish our coffee and toast in the lounge area with friends afterwards. They could not have been more accommodating.
In short, I can literally find no fault with any aspect of our event and stay at the Hydro Hotel and and would not hesitate to recommend it. Many thanks to General Manager Jonathan Owen and his team.

The Hydro facilitated a wonderful space to Culture Shift last night in the Wedgwood Room. The band they support, Delta 7 had been the subject of the film "Disabled, not Defeated. The Rock Band With Learning Disabilites" which was nominated for a BAFTA! We had a wonderful party with a big screen to watch the awards live. It was lovely to have use of the balcony too as it was such a beautiful evening. Delicious food was served and the bar was well stocked and reasonably priced. A wonderful night, made possible by General Manager, Jonathan Owen and his team. Perfect in every way. Thank you!

We visited the Hydro Hotel for afternoon tea. The hotel is a beautiful 1930s art decco style with great gardens and views of the sea. We had a delicious afternoon tea, which was one of the best we have had recently. Homemade scones and clotted cream. There was enough for the doggy bag to enjoy in the evening. The Staff were friendly and attentive. A lovely location

We stayed 5th June 2021 for 3 nights as were attending a weeding on 6th. It could not have been lovelier, and despite all the COVID restrictions it was a very enjoyable stay. Room lovely and spotlessly clean - nice fluffy bath sheets and everything you would need in a room including ironing board, iron, tea and coffee etc.
Breakfast was good, the only thig if anything negative to say, the rooms are not serviced daily, and when we asked they said there is only room service every 3 days. It wasn't too much of a problem and we would definitely stay again.

During the weekend of 4 - 7 June myself and family and friends stayed at The Hydro to attend the wedding of my daughter and her fiancé.
The wedding was wonderful, the stay was fantastic, the Management and Staff pulled out all the stops for us and provided five star service every step of the way.
The ceremony took place outside... With drinks in the garden and on the terrace.. And a sit down reception indoors.
Well done to everyone involved... Many thanks for making the day so very special and the whole weekend run smoothly and efficiently from start to finish.

My wife and I have just spent a wonderful short break at this hotel and were overwhelmed by the friendliness and attention to detail of the absolutely wonderful staff. Whether it was in the bar, the restaurant or the room there was a freshness and vitality to this hotel which was really first rate. He might not thank me for saying so but the admirable manager Jonathan was always on hand to sort out any issues. On a personal note I'd also like to thank all the staff for the kindness they have shown to my late brother Michael and his very alive widow Shirley over many, many years.

Had a really good time at the hotel. The only problem I had was the water pressure was too low for the shower. Otherwise the food and the staff were fantastic and the view was absolutely amazing.

This is our third time stay at this lovely hotel.
We came for my birthday for four nights.
The staff who we have got to know now are wonderful.
The dining experience is very good, may it be in the dining room or the conservatory.
We had afternoon tea with my family from Brighton. It was lovely.
Looking forward to coming again soon.

Following a friend's suggestion we went to The Hydro to have lunch in their Conservatory restaurant. It's a nice setting - bright inside, overlooking the lawns towards the sea, which is below the steep elevation. If the car park is full there's usually spaces on the nearby streets.
The menu was limited but with sufficient choice even without any starter options and the serving staff were very pleasant and efficient. We chose a lasagne and the fish & chips - both pleasant. The wine choices are also very limited but we had a perfectly fine Pino Grigio.
As there was no starter I had the ice cream dessert - again, not special but perfectly ok. All-in-all a pleasant lunch in a good location.

Our first stay at The Hydro and we were not disappointed. The food was very good, the Hotel very clean, staff were welcoming and helpful. The pool and gardens were excellent. We shall be returning. A very happy 4 day break.

Two nights at our favourite hotel. Never anything but excellent service every time we visit. Obviously some changes have been made because of restrictions but staff were still welcoming and efficient as usual. Nothing is ever too much trouble for the staff and we were especially impressed with the way they took extra care of the elderly visitors who were on there own. Food as always was excellent and the view from our room was stunning. We will return again soon.

After so long in lockdown It was great to get back to the Hydro Hotel and be looked after for a few days and our visit did not dissapoint. We had a wonderful sea view room it is well worth the upgrade for the niew out to sea and up to beachy head. We were visiting for the first with a our young dog and he was made very welcome. The food is of a very high standard and all the staff we encountered did thier best to make our stay enjoyable. We look forward to our next visit

Lock down was lifted so could not wait for a change of scenery and having our meals cooked breakfast was superb as was the evening meal we found all the staff in the dining room so efficient kind and helpful Jonathan the manager should be proud of his team.

Ideally located for walking up on The Downs. Located at the end of the front so a lot quieter. COVID measures in place are adhered to by staff and guests alike.
