We went here twice during our 3 week stay in Eastbourne.
Nicely set tables with white tablecloths add style. There's a perfect reasonably priced 2 or 3 course menu (I always have the liver and bacon!).The atmosphere is quite refined but not pretentious. We arrived in shorts after long days out and were made to feel most welcome. We always book ahead for this restaurant.

Whenever we visit Eastbourne we book somewhere to stay closely followed by a table at this superb family run restaurant. As always, food and sevice was first class. The highlite has to be the Cassata, it just gets better each time though it's hard to leave a little room for it after sampling other offerings on the menu. Thank you again for a superb meal and my Birthday card.

Wonderful food great service, Sardines and Fish Stew a delight, suggest you book we were there on Monday and only just had a table. We would have missed a great meal if they had been full

Welcoming, traditional Italian restaurant. The service here was brilliant - the staff made us so welcome, accommodating wheel chairs through the restaurant and late arrivals with no issues. The food is excellent and we thought it was excellent value. Walking distance from The Cavendish hotel

We had a delightful supper at La Locanda del Duca , on the recommendation of Wendy at Ockynge Manor. Excellent service true Italian cuisine (we both had risottos) and a good a mince. Reasonably priced too!

Very popular Italian restaurant serving an excellent range of Italian dishes. Prices reasonable and really good portions.

This was the second time we have been to this restaurant and we enjoyed a lovely meal in pleasant surroundings. There is a good choice of pasta, meat and fish dishes at reasonable prices. My sea bass was well cooked with a good selection of vegetables and my husband enjoyed his pasta dish. Highly recommended.

The food was really good, although not exceptional. This is the reason for 4 stars. I had a really good soup and a lasagne. The lasagne could have been better.
The service is maybe the best I've experienced ever. When we arrived there were more waiters than customers and I believe we had 5 different persons attending us. I would reccommend this restaurant to anyone that would like a really good evening dinner.
Be sure to reserve a table. If not you might be lucky, but if possible you should get a reservation.

Found this restaurant on Trip Advisor and really enjoyed the dinner with friends on our first visit to Eastbourne. Staff were very attentive despite the restaurant being full. Very nice selection of dishes for the reasonably-priced set menu. I enjoyed my starter of a ripe melon and prosuitto. My husband had tomato and mozzarella with only one leaf of basil, so he asked for more and was brought a bowlful!
Main courses were very tasty and red wine was was judged to be good. A friend really liked the fresh mint for her mojito (was not available at other restaurants earlier in the week).

Visited yet again - we always make a point of eating here when we visit Eastbourne. Great service, fresh and well cooked food, varied menu and reasonably priced. Well worth a try.

La Locanda Del Duca is a more upmarket Italian restaurant (I did not feel out of place in a suit and tie) with excellent food and wine choices.
We were made to feel very welcome straight off, and we were well looked after despite the restaurant being very busy.
The restaurant has a two and three course set menu as well as an al a carte menu. Two courses plus a glass of wine and a beer for me was just under £50.
It would be a shame to visit Eastbourne and miss out on this little piece of Italy.

Chosen on the basis of Trip Advisor reviews, we weren't disappointed. The restaurant's clientele are, to be diplomatic, well inside Eastbourne's demographic, but the restaurant isn't fuddy-duddy at all and the young and enthusiastic Italian staff help give a welcoming atmosphere.
The food was just fine. I enjoyed the freshly grilled sardines as a starter, followed by lamb cutlets and heartily recommend both. We went as a couple but it would be fine for groups.

Ate here with my wife on a Sunday evening in rainy late July. Booked a table earlier in the day based on the reviews here.
Arrived and taken to a nice table, soon provided bread and some olives. Had a couple of cokes to quench a thirst.Ordered the goat's cheese and the scallops starters. Goat's cheese was really tasty, the scallops could have been a little tastier, but they were fresh & well cooked.
Main course I had the Veal in cream sauce which was delicious and came with a healthy portion of vegetables. Wife had the signature pasta dish; tagliatelle del duca, which she said was very tasty. We had a very nice bottle of rose with the meal.Desert I had Crema Bruciata, creme brulee with a citrus taste and it was very tasty. Wife had Tiramisu, which she said was nice, but not overly impressive.
Service was very good, restaurant was very busy for a Sunday night.Bill was £75 which I thought was fine given service and quality.
Would definitely return and try some of the other dishes on the menu.

Had dinner recently with friends as a special birthday celebration.
Lovely atmosphere, busy, but still personable service.
Attentive staff, lovely wine with carafe of soda for spritzer making, delicious food and very reasonable pricing for us all!
Thank you again...

A well established restaurant in the centre of Eastbourne. The interior is slightly dated and traditional and seems to attract a mature clientele.
The service was wonderful, attentive and pleasant, couldn't fault it. Other restaurants would do well to have a meal here and learn from this family. Food was good, spaghetti bolognese piping hot and tasty.
Complimentary lemon sorbet, very much appreciated, again 5 stars for service guys.

Found by accident. The service was fabulous as we were late in after a Bandstand show on a Friday night. The food was ok, the wine not so great, but we were welcomed at a late (for Eastbourne!) hour & not rushed at all.

We went to this restaurant on a Friday night recently and had booked in advance. Glad we had because it was very busy and had a great atmosphere.
We ate from the set menu and two courses were enough for us as the portions are a good size.Tables were a little close together, but not too much of a problem.
Excellent service and quality food. Would definitely use it again if we return to Eastbourne.

One of the better Resaurants we ate in during our stay in Eastbourne.
We ordered the Sardines which were wonderful. My partner then had a king prawn Pasta which she described as tasty. I ordered a filet steak. The steak was a touch over cooked in my opinion, but I put this down to the fact that a 'Medium' means something different in each restaurant. The staff were very friendly. Even the owner of the Resaurants came to our table to say hi. All in all a good experience at this restaurant.

We visited on a Friday night for a meal and were so glad we did.
The two course menu offers fantastic value and the resteraunt was very accommodating in offering me bruchetta as a starter despite it not being on the set menu.
Best of all, our main was delicious with the salmon being cooked to perfection and the veg tender and fresh.
The staff were all friendly and smiling and the decor very authentic and Italian.
I really liked the refreshing lemon shot at the end of the meal to cleanse the pallet, it was the perfect end to our meal.
I can't recommend this resteraunt highly enough it really is "belissimo".

Ate lasagne, best I have had on a restaurant. It was packed the evening we were there, but we got full service and attention. Cosy atmosphere, but the sounds travel well when packed so it can get a bit load.

Excellent food and service.

You're brought bread and extra bread with butter and olives when you sit down.

The menu is very good.

I had a lovely broccoli risotto.

Staff all very friendly.

Take your pick from a full Italian menu or a pizza, the same people run both La Locanda and the pizza place next door. Great atmosphere, excellent friendly service and great food at a reasonable price . Will definitely eat there again. Love it.

We managed to book a table on a busy Friday night during Tennis week. One year since our last visit and nothing has changed. Still excellent food and service. When staying in Eastbourne this is the favourite place to eat. WE will be back.
