Abit expensive for what's there but our granddaughter loved it. The shop/reception area could do with being bigger.

A great history - Roman and Norman. Well worth a visit. The castle is still imposing. Good walk around the perimeter of the castle too.

I was here to visit "Landings", one of the ten wooden sculptures commissioned in 2021 for placing along the 1066 walking trail.
It depicts a Norman longboat which brought them to land at Pevensey.
The sculptures vary in style and size and are well worth seeing, set in beautiful positions in the East Sussex country side between Pevensey and Rye along the trail.

A fascinating relic from a thousand years ago. Definitely worth visiting. I chose to visit on a wet, miserable bank holiday Monday so the place was not at its best, and there were a lot of families visiting - so for an autistic person like me concentrating on the audio visuals were a challenge. Ideally I'd go back mid week and on a sunnier day. Nice views all around and an audio tour available. Though despite mentions of an exhibition several times I saw no sign of an exhibition, nor any exhibits within the castle. The towers that we were able to enter - the interior of those towers were extremely sparse. Also there were no toilet facilities so I ended up leaving the castle quicker than I had planned, and driving to a nearby Tesco.

A delightful ruin with just enough nooks and crannies to explore. Strtigically significant from the Roma era to WWII. The audio tour provides a sense of it's history in a relaxed engaging manor.

Lovely old castle. Mostly walls and you have to pay to go into the middle of the ruins. Still worth a visit as great ambience.

We went on beautifully crisp Autumn afternoon with blue sky and a cool but gentle breeze, such history and wonder a real connection with our past.
