We really enjoyed our visit to this castle. Really good audio guide for adults and children and lots to explore. The views were lovely.

A good way to pass an hour of your time. Great audio guide. Interesting facts and good to learn a little more about the castles history, not just 1066. It's mainly just ruins, but a couple of damp indoor rooms in the towers.

Thé àudio guide was a godsend for our visit and we learnt so much as a family. Probably not ideal to visit on a rainy day, as it’s mainly uncovered, but plenty to explore and find out about the Romans all the way through to WW2!

Lovely place. Interesting guide and pivotal part of English heritage. Small gift shop. Lovely staff. If you enjoy history and what sculpted the course of English history from 3rd Century then this place will offer you insight

For a small site, the historical significance and importance it's amazing; the things to see inside the castle walls are interesting. Well worth a visit for an hour or two of you're an English heritage member.

Lots of history but like a lot of old castles, you'll need your imagination to feel what it was like there many centuries ago
