Exhibitions are still closed till May 17, but audio guides are available. Helpful staff, grounds open. Prebooking requested, but if you are a member, there is likely an opening. Tea room only open in Thursday-Sunday.

Its an interesting area to explore... if you are an English Heritage member a visit to the musuem in the Castle Bailey is worth a visit. I usually take my dog for a run on the lawns. There is a garden tearoom at the car park and several pub restaurants in the immediate vicinity.

Can't go wrong with one of the first Norman castles. Two pubs and a tea shop very close by. Free to wall inside the outer Bailey. Good info boards and audio tour too. Dogs welcome.

Very historic site although not much to see, setting is very pretty. Tea rooms set in a lovely old house looked great but were unfortunately closed on our visit.
