We stopped here one weekend several months ago. I think the Park has a lot to offer, but for the younger family. Our children were aged around 13 years and did not find it that appealing. Also as it was heading towards winter, the weather was against us.

My husband and I had booked a big cat breakfast worth £89 per person. This was a bacon roll in the cafe and a 45 minute tour an talk of the big cats. Seriously NOT worth £180 per couple!!

This place is a hidden treasure that most of my friends and family had never heard of! (Should promote themselves more often) It is set In a great location that really does cater to a great extent for children. I did visit without any children, just with my fiancé, but I really enjoyed it. We got there early and were able to walk round the majority of the park without bumping in to many people.
Great selection of animals to get up close and personal with, their enclosures are well maintained too.

Loved this place, easy to find, loads of carparking and a very safe environment.

My 3 year old loved it and there is loads to look at and everything just about is included in the price.

Great viewing areas and animals look well looked after!

Food good and fresh and not over priced

Will definitely be going back

First of all, the good stuff. The diversity of animals and the manner in which they are kept seemed to be exemplary - really amazing for children to see animals so close up - especially the big cats. It's quite a walk around the whole park, but this didn't seem to bother the children who were constantly spotting interesting things - and as my daughter said, it was much better than London Zoo.

Not sure if I totally agree, but for a good day out at a zoo, this does seem to be one of the better places we've been to.

Now for the bad. The staff in the (single) restaurant. We arrived at around 10.50am, I asked for a bacon sarnie (there's a sign saying they serve breakfast until 11.00am), only to be told that they have stopped serving and were clearing up. Not only were they not prepared to serve me what I wanted........but around 15 mins later, some staff turned up and they were served full breakfasts. Then at around 11.30......same again. Sloppy, rude and disappointing.

One of the girls behind the counter spotted that I had seen this and looked really embarrassed.

Lunchtime was a complete disaster.......the queue for food orders takes around 45 minutes to move through, so be warned.......you'd be far better off bringing your own stuff to eat. It's also really expensive. To say the service is slow would be a gross understatement, although admittedly, the staff all seemed to be kids doing weekend work, except for the manageress, but she moved at the pace of a red footed tortoise.

There are some play areas for kids, including a rather tired 18 hole crazy golf course (which needed a major overhaul) and a play area with a pirate ship to climb on, etc.

Overall value for money is acceptable and the animals are wonderful.

Some people might read this and wonder why I am complaining about sloppy restaurant service at a zoo - simple - when one has just spent approximately £ 65.00 on tickets, around £ 30 on crap food and around £ 30 in the gift shop, I have the right to do so.

Will we be going back ? - not for a long time to come as we'd prefer to go to all the other zoos again first.

We only visited due to the wowcher offer of family ticket and hotel room as we are not local (lancs). Long journey but well worth it to visit this fantastic little place. Feel like you really get really close to the animals and the play areas for the kids were fantastic who had a ball. Really really good day out shame it's such a long way away from us!

We all had a really great time, so many animals and birds all looked very happy and healthy. We pet many animals like the alpacas, zebras, reindeer, emu and the farm animals. Such a variety of big cats all were very close and we got lovely pictures. I like how they had walkways at a height so you can view the animals up close. The Snow leopards were my favourite including the Red panda. The keepers obviously love the animals and are happy to engage with the visitors. I would recommend a whole days visit here. We finished about 5 pm when the park closed. We went home tired but so pleased to have visited this park.

My husband and I went to this zoo last week. It was a with a gift voucher from one of our children. On arrival we thought it was going to be a child's zoo, with lots of sit and ride attractions as well. We realise that all the slot machine rides etc were ways of creating money to cope with the amazing selection of wild animals.

We went principally to see the big cats. Ian our guide was brilliant and had such passion about his job and knew so much, we were shown white tigers, white lions and snow leopards (hardly ever seen in the wild) Amur and Sumatran tigers plus over 400 other animals are kept here. There is also a good breeding programme especially for the species that are now in danger. We ate brunch in the restaurant overlooking the tigers and felt privileged to be there.

This zoo is small but oh so user friendly we loved our day out and would definitely recommend for all ages, thank you Ian our guide you made our day.

Such a cool place to visit, something for the big kid in us all, we had a real fun day out. As a non zoo lover this was a great experience, the animals seem to be very well looked after and the interaction lots of fun. Will defiantly return.

We have been to Paradise Wildlife park 3 times over the summer and each time was fantastic. My grandaughter aged 2.5 loved it. We used Tesco vouchers which made it good value and took a picnic. Plenty of parking. Animals all looked happy. Great play park for the children. Refreshment kiosks at certain points. Viewing windows so that you can get up close to the animals. All in all a great day out and one that I thoroughly recommend. Can't wait to go again in the spring!

A good fun day especially for the kids. The animals park section is a bit of a secret maze where you discover something new around the corner and the kid playground is away from the animals.

Returning from Luton toward Essex it was an impulse decision to go to Paradise Wildlife Park but were glad we did! It was only £16 for an adult which considering how much there is to see, my friend and I thought was very good value for money! We started by getting some lunch at Sam's grill in the main court however we waited in a queue for 20 minutes to get served! There was one lady cooking and one man serving, which considering the size of the queue seemed inadequate. Also, considering the man had to go to the main restaurant twice during our wait as he had run out of food, we thought was very ridiculous! Never the less the food was lovely, obviously overpriced but that is expected. The actual park was very good, with lots of wildlife to see. The signposts could be a bit clearer as we had to keep referring to the map as we felt we kept missing things out! The wildlife walk was pointless as it takes you on a 5 minute walk to see one owl and one deer! There's a lot of activities for kids - but at a price. Overall was a good couple of hours and I would go again :)

Paradise wildlife park was pleasant enough to visit and they had a good selection of animals. Children's play areas were great as was the woodland train. However, a deer had an antler growing into his face - this can be easily rectified with the help of a vet. There was a serious whiff of ammonia - indicating cages could be cleaned more regularly. Paradise wildlife park should think about how they could enrich the animals with more activities etc in enclosures which are rather small. The animals were looked after but not flourishing in their conditions.

Lovely day out for my 3 grandsons , but as a pensioner treating my grandchildren to ice lollies,
I bought 3 ice lollies nothing fancy but nearly £6. Come on £1 each expensive but probably expect that but prices rip off for a cheap ice lollie won't buy again, also some attractions not manned like the go carts my grandson could not move as 3 blocking race track no one was on them his £1 ran out and he hadn't moved very dissatisfied .

Haven't been for years and still loved it! Zoo is just big enough not to kill you walking around it and plenty to do for lively 6,8 and nearly 10 year olds.
The only gripes are the cost (and then extra for stuff inside the park) and the coffee!!! How difficult is it to make a decent cuppa? Had a cappucino in The coffee shop near the big cats and it was foul. Super heated frothy milk that left a film on my teeth and a nasty taste in my mouth AND cost £2.40. In the play area I was charged £1.40 for 3/4 cup of instant coffee.
Decent coffee doesn't cost the earth and if i can make it at home for pennies surely such a large attraction can?

Easy transport with train to the train station. However we waited 45 minutes for the bus service that was mean to come after booking it but none arrive. As we had small children with us we had to take a cab in the end. What a let-down. Inside the park there are no let downs. The Lions and Cheetah's dens can be viewed from many angles, on both ground floor and stair level. This means that you can even see the animals that may shy away otherwise. Great outdoor space for resting, snacking etc. Also a great indoor soft play area. Good mixture of animals enclosed in a safe environment. The fast food restaurant was a bit of a let down in terms of quality of food. I'll bring my own food next time. I think you get a lot for your money here compared to London Zoo. Will definately come back.

Wonderful experience meeting the meerkats - you got 30 minutes in with them. They do advise to wear old clothes as they climb all over you and they did. Even had one on the pocket of my jacket for a while. The keeper was very knowledgeable and happily answered all our questions. Great experience which we hope to do again.
Unfortunately, the weather was very wet so din't get to see as much of the other areas as we would have liked.

Spent the day here and really enjoyed it. A couple of negatives - the car parking spaces are not long enough for the majority of cars! Please make the car park suitable. A lot of the enclosures seem too small compared to other wildlife parks/zoos we have visited. Positives - there are two halves to the park, the animal side and the 'play' side. You can get very close to all the animals which is amazing. Snow leopards and white tigers that I've never seen before are fantastic. Our boys (10 & 6) loved feeding the lorikeets, and it is a bargain at a £1. They also loved the play areas, lots of space to run around and climb. We took a picnic so can't comment on the food but the drinks were reasonably priced. We also popped into the shop before leaving and again this was reasonably priced in comparison to whipsinade. Definitely worth a visit.

We drove for 5 hours to get to this well run Wildlife park.Bought as birthday experience for my Feline loving partner . After a well presented introduction about the park and it's animal inmates we were led out into the park. The Keepers were well briefed and could answer all questions and are very passionate about their charges. As for the tree top cafe it was OK but had to stay inside due to inclement weather which was disappointing. The park is kept spotless with very knowledgeable friendly Staff A Great day out better than ZOO's they have far better enclosures giving the animals much more room.

Paradise Wildlife Park is situated in the borough of Broxbourne, Herts. Surrounded by woods it is an excellent day out seeing the animals and wonderful for children in the play areas. This venue is also available for functions - christmas parties, weddings etc. Enquire as to the many deals they have i.e.: yearly subscriptions. Can be an expensive day out but someone has to buy food for the animals and pay wages.
